[Mini-Event] Relics of the Past

[Paradox]

In the final days before the death of Emperor Palpatine, the Rebellion was closing in on one of the many secret storehouses he possessed. So he ordered a platoon of elite Stormtroopers known as Suicide Squad to load every single item in the site onto a transport and move them to a more secure location. But...the ship never arrived and the platoon vanished. Soon after that the second Death Star was destroyed and Palpatine's empire toppled. So the question remains; what happened to the priceless and powerful artifacts the Emperor had secreted away?

To this day no one knows and the dead do not speak. Did the budding Republic find this treasure? Did Suicide Squad elope with the relics? Perhaps it was one of those unsolvable mysterious? At least until a strange Echani discovered a half-corrupted file in an Imperium databank, which led him to the wreck of a Clone Wars era ship, and which has now given him the location of a long forgotten bunker on the planet Abafar.

Is it a wild goose chase or is there actually a trove of treasures locked away somewhere in the Void? Is there any truth to the rumors to the 'Ghosts of the Sands?' What lies in wait just beneath the vast wasteland? Yirim Thrace has gathered a band of mercenaries, Cartel members, and bounty hunters to help in the search for the bunker. He's being pretty secretive about the details but if it exists he has promised a fair share to his allies. If it doesn't exist he will pay a small fee for their time.

I was setting up this little arc for awhile, so if anyone is interested in a little treasure hunt with some mystery and a chance at some cool gear feel free to post your info for my own little mini-event. It was just going to be another thread until I saw the posts everywhere that mentioned people were a little bored and other people said to take matters into your own hands; make your own events. So here we are and I turned it into a group event :3 keep in mind it's not first come, first served for sign-ups.

Answer 1: Collaborative but has the potential to become competitive.
Answer 2: For most of the rewards, no. But I do have some special ones I am going to get into contact with an admin about for approval.

If you really need more people I could offer Caed or the Wanderer. They're the only characters I have right now that I could see being involved in something mercenary like this. Even if Caed's only reason is that he's a Force-sensitive youth that's constantly strapped for cash and in search of a moral compass. They both have diverse skill sets and could certainly be an asset to any team. Take what you can get?

Reason: 1) as a former Trooper of the Imperial Navy's Spec Ops he would of heard about the Suicide Squad and the vanishing cargo, that alone would peek his interest. 2) Hunting for the Cartel isn't as profitable as expected so the boos in credits from a salvage/treasure hunt would also peek his interest.

Okay everyone still interested! I've talked to the admins and have a list of goodies you could possibly acquire over the course of this adventure. I've also made a decision on those that were chosen to participate. It was based on several things(such as activity, creativity, average post length, etc etc). As much as I would like to include everyone, I'm not overly fond of large group threads. So only three were chosen to join Yirim on his hunt. Don't be too upset/disappointed if you weren't selected. It's nothing against you personally and I plan on a bunch of events like this in the future if this one turns out to be a hit, so there's always next time! The chosen are;

Jaraxsus Lannisar - Skyreaver
Bahati Rehn - Darkwasp
Nika Fiore - Nakoma Gwenelda

Possible rewards include;

• Statue of Emperor Palpatine - This is a statue based upon the one that used to be erected at the back of the Jedi Trials Chamber within the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. It is smaller, only three yards, but still valuable. Estimated worth at 250,000 credits to Imperial Memorabilia Collectors.
• Genosian Staff of Command - A trophy from the end of the Clone Wars. It was the cane wielded by the Archduke of Geonosis. The staff served as a symbol of their position as ruler of Stalgasin hive, the planet's ruling hive. It is really only valuable to the Genosians but could be worth upwards of 100,000 credits. Especially to Genosian nobility who may turn it into a bidding war if they don't try to steal it or assassinate you for it.
• Dark Trooper Phase II Armor - These armors were the second and main stage of the Dark Trooper Project. The Phase II dark trooper was intended to be used either as an artificially intelligent droid or exoskeleton—either way, it was extremely effective in battle. It could be very valuable to a wide variety of people or used as a guard, even personal armor. It is unknown how many are within the vault.
• Kaminoan Cloning Tubes - Cloning is the process of creating a genetically identical or—purposefully and specifically—modified copy of an original organism. An unknown amount of tubes are stored within in the vault. Collected after the Clone Wars when the new Empire banned cloning or the ownership of said property outside of Imperial control.
• Memoirs of the Order - A collection of holobook journals from one relatively unknown Jedi known only through his entries as E. The journals follow his training as a Padawan until the outbreak of the Clone Wars, upon which he became a Jedi General. He participated in dozens of battles and adventures until Order 66 was given. He escaped the mass annihilation of his order by fleeing to the burning planet of Demonsgate. The journals end when he records a group of 'Inquisitors' are closing in. The memoirs end with a small but moving summary of the lessons he learned over his life and the words, "May the Force be with us all."
• As Knight Falls - A work of art, considered rebellious at the time, which ended in the execution of the artist. It depicts what a hero had now become; a shadow of his former self. However Vader did not destroy it but locked it away. The painting is one of a kind and as such could be extremely valuable to the right people or even donated to a museum.
• Credits - The Galactic Empire amassed an incalculable amount of wealth. Who knows how much was transported to this secret vault before their fall? But some of that wealth is sure to be there.
