Of all the times it could rain, it had to be now." Sumas grumbled as the rain came down with metallic pattering against his armour. He stood next to a building, leaning against a wall as he fiddled with his rifle.

Thier job was to defend the town against attackers...simple enough, right? It would be a lot simpler if they weren't facing a bunch of mindless pod-people. For the past few weeks there have been reports of entire towns being ransacked and every single person was dragged off into the night. Only a handful of corpses were found here and there, forming even more questions. It wasn't until a survivor was found of these attacks that they figured out what was going on.

The attackers were locals. Chalactans who banded together and charged into towns...but they didn't act like themselves. They mumbled and murmured around, and they didn't act like individuals. They all seemed to mumble the same thing, though nobody could figure out what they said. At least, not until they stopped murmuring and started screaming as they attacked. They ignored any personal injury, focused only on capturing people and kidnapping them. The only casualties were people who put up too much of a fight for them to manage.

Nobody else were willing to help them, thus the Mandalorians stepped up. Sumas managed to put together a team and figure out the pattern of the attacks, and now here they were. The residents were evacuated to larger, safer cities for the time being. So if something went wrong, nobody would be caught in the crossfire. At least these mindless maniacs seemingly didn't use weapons so that would hopefully make things easier.

"Hey guys, you see anything?" he asked over the commlink, looking around towards the outskirts of town for any movement. Damn, he wished he had thermal vision now...
