Hello all, how's it going?

With my character Nathaniel's asscension to the Governor of Ando Prime and being put in charge of it's protection, I also have taken up rebuidling our military.

Whereas before it was merely slaves, that was doomed to fail since noone really wants to RP as a slave who gets stripped of their weapons after battle is done, I'd like to turn it into more of a standard military. Whilst Bac secures how the men shall be equipped and such, I'd like to open up the faction a bit. In addition to this, I only have a very basic idea of what I want to do with this, so any advice you guy's might have would be appreciated.

Thanks guys :bitchez

As mentioned I noticed that we are now going to be running like a growing Empire. I would like to think we are now going to have uniforms and such? (Which is by far the greatest thing ever. Quite tired of everyone one running around like free style operator.) And this also would mean we are now going to have training for the foot soldiers?

Yes, we'll likely have a standard armour and other gear once Bac get's that worked out IC.

As far as training, yes they'll be trained so they don't get squished by the trained armies everyone else has lol. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking.

Haha, well what I was asking really is that practically there is a new side of this entire faction being opened up. One that will encourage non-force sensitive characters to join a Darkside oriented faction. And so with that said will you be needing to help in training?

Another question I had is what will the Dark Jedi presence be like within the military structure? I assume they might actually lead small forces on their own to serve the newly founded growing Bogan Empire (If you can call it that)?

CK and I were saying yesterday that the Dark Jedi would be like the Jedi were during the Clone Wars. There are non-Force sensitive combat troops with the Force users filling command roles, and the High Lord of the Bogan being the overall commander (subject to the Bogan's orders, of course).

As for training the non-Force users, it's possible to incorporate that into the missions based training. Do you think people will like doing that? I know the Republic doesn't train soldier PCs, it just assumes they're already trained and hands out ranks based on the abilities of the RPer, but that doesn't mean we can't.

Ah thank you for clearing up the first question and as for the second I can agree with your point there.

Actually I wasn't making a point. I wanted to know, in your opinion, if you think that people would want to do that training. I'm not the average RPer so I'm not really in a position to answer that question, and you're in the RP much more than me. :)

I obviously can't speak for CK, but if people are interested in that then I'm game to give it a try. There's no harm in trying it.

Ah alright. Well assuming someone knows how to shoot is alright. And you barely have any type of characters whom have had no past experience in the military. And say there was mercenary who has had quite a bit of experience in the past but then up and joins this military. He "may" have experience to back him up but still going over it is always a good option. And hell the character itself will receive proper training in which I have seen most of the time that mercs on here train themselves. Another thing is that a soldier could actually train to use a weapon more effectively. Along with other tactics that they might gain from working in a squad and so forth.

While as of yet we do not know for sure where we're drawing these forces from, they would recieve harsh training once signed up. As our numbers as far as NPC troopers will probably much lower then a standard faction they'll have to be held to a higher standard to deal with numerical disadvantages.

Anyone else?

Not everyone gets to train with Dark Jedis. Not even the republic trains with Jedis

How about we train the none force users in lightsaber combat, have a few mutated beasts, creative over dramatic secrets, a rituals cult. And boom a army of the undead?

None force users. Being trained by a Dark Jedi in Lightsaber combat. In other words a Solider being trained in lightsaber combat.

I think they wouldn't be able to deflect blasters and such

In my opinion they are quite or more capable of doing so. If they timed the right action. Unless the enemies were firing rapid fire blasts then no I do not think so, but one or two maybe three yeah, maybe they can defect it.

It'll be like a Master Swordsman With a Lightsaber and using his gut feelings t deflect it.

Can we try to be more serious?

That would be magnificent.

There is no sense in this anyways. They have sword forms in which can be up to par with a lightsaber. So this is some what already established within the Republic I believe. Or else soldiers would be inferior when it came to close combat with a lightsaber wielding foe. Of course, say it was a Dark Jedi. They will still have an edge over them.
