Miako Armored Suit

Bespoke tailored suits made for sentients of all shapes and sizes, the Miako brand of formal wear is more than just black tie event worthy clothing but also armored and armed for the protection of it's wearer. By default, suits are made with armoring within the jacket of the suit itself although modifications can be made to increase coverage of the armor. Though rather pricey, the suits are durable and, most importantly, machine washable for convenience.

As they are primarily meant to defend against assassination attempts, armor is focused exclusively around the torso and back to protect the vital organs of most sentient species. That said, some of the supported functions of the armor allow for more flexibility.

LEGALITY

Miako armored suits are entirely legal within all known systems.

INTENT

Intent is to make an armored suit for businessmen-type characters and senators, as there was in previous timelines.

RESTRICTIONS
Certain armor functions will simply not be possible with this 'armor' due to how the main function of the tech is to function as a suit and armor. Because of that, certain functions (those that require full body coverage or helmets) cannot be equipped with the suit.

Type and Coverage

Type: Light Armor

Coverage:
  • Torso: Segments of armor hidden within the lining of both the jacket and the waistcoat
  • Back: Segments of armor hidden within the lining of both the jacket and the waistcoat

Functions

Function 1: Concealed Blade
  • Concealed blades are typically 4-6 inches in length and lock into place once extended. They are almost always placed along the fore-arm or boot. They are no substitute for true combat knives as the locking mechanism can break under strong impacts. Still, some people enjoy them as a helpful backup.
Function 2: Mag-Boots
  • Magnetic boots contain electromagnets in the soles and allow for enhanced movement on ferrous surfaces in microgravity or steep gradients. This functionality must be turned on or off manually by a button or switch.
