Manaan office, early morning

Vex waited in the representatives office, standing by his desk stoically. Fully clad in her Wraith armor except with a brown cloak over top of it this time. With the hood fully pulled over her head, almost every inch of the black in her outfit was obfuscated. Both her hands hovered near her belt, ready to deal with any problem that might arise if the representative tried something funny. Not that it was expected but one never knew in her line of work.

With her was her partner; though lower on the totem pole she suspected his skills were up to par, if not impressive. Both of them were early for the meeting, but she enjoyed changing things up some times. Beside it was pretty much necessary; they'd left their ship early to give them a buffer, taking painstaking measures to make sure no one else saw them on their way in. It was best.

Vash stood at the opposite corner of the room from Vex, leaning on a wall by his shoulders. Like the Wraith, he was completely covered by his flat black medium armor. The hood consumed all but the face of the helmet as the cloak split arms and chest and flowed to his knees to allow for freedom of movement while still obstructing the total view of his armor and utility belt. Other then the flat shadow swallowing color, Vash also added a vocal distortion device so that only Vex would know him beyond the armor.

The Nightbringer's hands were also resting on his belt, a flick of the wrist and he could draw his saber and trim the hairs from the representatives head. All the Wraith would need to do is give the nod and he would do a lot more then that. But they were early and killing was not what they were here for, at least not yet.

Quarna Llesh shambled slowly as he did with all things. He was a slow eater and a slow swimmer, and the rude and uncouth accused him of being slow-witted. No, Quarna was not slow-witted in the least bit; he took careful consideration of options and opinions and variables before he made a decision and he trusted his own reliable judgment. And he knew the score on the galactic scale, and if he and his family benefited in the process and he was able to steer his people in the direction of continued prosperity then he saw what he was committed to as a necessity. A chore and a crucial one at that. He'd seen the writing on the wall and he would see to it that Manaan was safe.

And so in robes of deep sea blue, like the stygian depths of the oceans that he thought complemented his dappled Sargassum skin smartly. He wanted to look his best for his new associates, even as his thick mass shifted grossly underneath the voluminous expanse of his robes. Quarna was more of a thinker than a fighter and he liked to indulge himself.

As he entered his own office, he was treated to the sight of two imposing figures arrayed similarly, one small and vicious and the other threatening his own size. And his eyes bulged and his cheeks flopped in panic for a moment in surprise.

“I…I had no idea I was late! My deepest apologies! Please, what do you wish of me?”

He stood where he was and did not move until he was spoken to. These ones certainly made a distinguished impression.

Vex didn't move when Quarna entered and apologized. She simply waited until he was finished talking. "For now, we need nothing out of you," she began, pausing to allow him time to relax somewhat, if it was possible. They were here as his 'friends', for now. "That will change when we elevate you; which we are working hard to do now." Of course she left out the details of how, something she assumed a smart man like him would figure out on his own.

With that she moved towards him, but went past him. Stopping close to the doors edge. "If there is anything you need to do on your end, now is the time." That was all she needed to say; it was best to leave out as much detail as possible, giving him only enough so he could put any last pieces into place on his end. If her partner wanted to add anything she'd allow him to. Otherwise they'd leave. They needed to get out as quietly as they entered and she was ready to get it done.

Vash stood from his leaning position and walked a few steps to the Llesh's flank. He loomed there a second and took a couple of steps behind him and to the other flank. All the while allowing the feelings of fear and paranoia to linger in the force and give the weak little man a sense that the assassin would like nothing more then to take him apart with his blade. Vash did not speak a word how ever, feeling as though Vex had said all that was needed.

When the Wraith was done speaking Vash would give a slight cock of his head and a little bow farewell as he turned from Llesh and to the door. Opening it for Vex and making a gesture saying 'you/ladies first'. He would wait for her to move out and would then follow, leaving the door swinging. Just as they entered they left in two different paths careful to bring to attention to themselves and after several minutes they were both at the shuttle and departing from the landing pad.

The Selkath nodded at the smaller figures words. Yes, he had much to busy himself with. Bribes, blackmail, protecting his household when regime change came to Manaan. It would be busy work and he would work dutifully and completely at it.

“As you say,” he replied to the menacing Sith, nothing more. It was servile, polite and appropriate like Quarna Llesh. He began his work immediately, sifting through correspondences and beginning to disperse meeting requests and review intelligence had had assembled. Busy work awaited the Selkath and he smoothed his robes after the larger Sith left, suppressing the chill In his spine but not by much. Quarna feared them, but powerful allies could be appeased so long as one served their purpose, and he would act as a good tool in their hands. He paged his secretary after taking deep breaths to stabilize himself. He ordered kaf and fruit and algae bread and settled in to the bulk of the preparations, the two Sith and the greater Sith Empire a foreboding but now distant presence in his mind.
