Kad'tal had hitched a ride from Concordia to Corucant one year ago. He was a lone thief / master pickpocket and lived on the outskirts. He didn't get along with others and frankly some were afraid of him. He has a reputation for being aggressive and short fused.
He just found his next target. A random man on the street. Kad'tal grabbed for the mans side arm while bumping into him. "Sorry sir, I didn't mean to bump into you." He said as he turned to leave with his prize.

Kad'tal would find himself bumping into another, but not so intended. The man before him did not move and to the boy, it would feel as if running right into a concrete wall. The stranger looked down at Kad'tal and said nothing, greeting him with a foreboding silence. His armor reflected his background entirely, a Mandalorian much like the boy, but in all the ways he could hope to strive for.

"Mandalorians don't usually say sorry for much."

His voice was cold and indifferent to Kat'dal's situation. The stranger's head tilted upwards, looking to the other man and already knew what had occurred. He didn't smile or laugh, merely pitied the boy's line of profession. Pulling one of his dual Westar blast pistols from its holster, he jabbed the barrel into Kat'dal's stomach. The move was soon followed with a chime only loud enough for the two of them to hear.

"It's been difficult tracking you down, Kat'dal. Stealing from people isn't much of an honorable trade for a warrior, but it does offer a 'real' Mandalorian an interesting opportunity."

"What do you want from me?" Kad'tal said to the man that pulled a gun on him. "Mind you're own business you big armored jerk!" He yelled. As he looked down at the pistol he stole. And dropped it on the ground. "I wasn't really sorry. It's just a way to steal gear from others, it's a living." He spoke to the two men standing there.

The stranger found Kad'tal's question to be annoying. He was going to get to that, so why rush it?

"You can call me Saren and this big armored jerk won't mind beating you to a pulp."

Saren was rather serious with his statement and detested the boy's attitude. You never go spouting off at someone with a gun pointed at you, it was bad for your health. Regardless, he took noteo f the pistol that Kad'tal had dropped before coming up with excuses about his lifestyle.

"Mandalorians don't live like thieves. We take what we want and we don't cling to the shadows like some pathetic whelp."

Saren motioned to the people walking by, they tried to ignore the weapon on the ground and the one held in his hand. They were in a bad part of town and the locals had grown accustom to similar sights, but did their best to veer far from them.

"As I said, it was difficult to track you down. You're not the master thief like you thought and people have taken notice. Bad people, the kind that kill you and mutilate your corpse just to sell to the hungry far enough down in Coruscant where quite a few are desperate enough to devour anything."

"Ok, Saren? Well I'm not afraid to die. If you are going to kill me just do it already. Besides what is being a mandalorian anyway!? Do they all get drunk beat their children daily, like my father did!? Well I put a stop to that and put a sword in his gut. That was the last time I let anyone treat me like that." Kad'tal yelled at Saren with anger in his eyes. Not caring that the man had a gun to him and towered above him.

"Stupid boy."

As the words left his lips, the boy would soon feel Saren's balled fist strike across his cheek. Saren couldn't stand to watch the wasted potential, but it also made him upset. His own father had been loving and affectionate, whilist being the prototypical fatherly figure one might expect a Mandalorian to be. Saren also wasn't impressed with his tale of killing his father, plenty of orphans have done that and it was heard of quite regularly within the ranks of the Sith.

"Hopefully you've learned your lesson. I'll give you a choice. You can die here like a worthless piece of excrement or you can learn what it is to be a true Mandalorian."

This was a rare occasion indeed. Saren had offered the path of the Mandalorian to two others before Kad'tal, both never making it pass the first few steps. However, he had hope in this one.

(Feel free to possibly move out of Saren's range, but it would seem unlikely and this is more of an opportunity. ;))

Kad'tal didn't even flinch when the man punched him in the face. He had been hit so much as a child that it didn't phase him anymore. The offer of knowing what a true Mandalorian intrigued him. "Do you mean my father didn't treat me like that because he was a Mandalorian, but in spite of being one?" Kad'tal said to the man.

He had never thought of it in that light. He always thought that all Mando's were like that. "What can I do to become a Real Mandalorian, I don't want to live this way anymore. I fight and steal to survive. Is there really another way?" He said with a tear in his eye. He had never shown this side to anyone before. "Sorry, I am not going to cry. Real men show no emotion." He said as he wiped his eye and stood tall.

Oyariyu could hear a commotion outside of his safehouse between what sounded like a Mandalorian and a street rat. He wandered outside in time to see a man, in full armor... in GA territory, punch a teenage boy in the jaw. This was not something Oyariyu, or any other Mandalorian, would take lightly, so he walked over to the man, took him by the chest plate of his armor, and lifted him overhead. "Two things are wrong with this picture: One, you are in GALACTIC TERRITORY with MANDALORIAN ARMOR brandishing it in broad bloody daylight. Do you WANT to get killed? Two. You just hit a child. This child has done nothing to you. Sure he's a thief but he is so so he can survive. Tell me, if YOU were in his shoes, you wouldn't steal food from time to time," he said, and dropped him, then looked at the boy. "Do you need someone to stay with?" he asks.

Kad'tal watched as a man came out of a house and took care of the man that hit him. Then asked if he needed a place to stay. He hadn't had someone show him kindness or a place to stay ever. "Uh, I have have my own place to stay by myself,it's not far from here. But I could use a hot meal. If that's ok with you." Kad'tal said to the man.

(OOC if you want you can insist that he stay with you, you can offer him a reason to stay.)

The Mandalorian nodded and motioned for him to follow him into his safe house. "Have you ever had Gi dumpling soup? It's very good in my opinion. I have been craving it like a mad man. Perhaps a side of Haarshun Bread?" he asked, to himself more so than the boy. He shrugged and walked t the preserved fish dumplings he was given for his stay on Coruscant. He began preparing the broth.

Kad'tal followed the man into his place and looked it over. And watched as the man started to prepare a meal. "This is a nice place, how long have you lived here?" He said still looking around. "Where are you from?" He asked.

Oyariyu looked back at the boy. He chuckled when he complimented the safehouse. "I don't live here actually. I'm just here until the guard activity calms down so I can return to Mandalore," the man replied and continued the meal. Once things got to a point where he would have to wait for things to boil and turned around to face the boy. "As for where I am from, I was born on Mandalore, but raised on a moon over Shukut known as Isbarus. My clan's founder was of the first to visit the Moon so he took it upon himself to set up his base of operations there," he said, informing the kid. He looked at the child to see if he was even remotely interested.

Kad'tal was listening to the man talk about growing up on a moon called Isbarus. "I grew up on Concordia and moved here a year ago. I can't go back there. But you're planet sounds cool. Maybe someday I could go there and see you're place? I really don't like stealing from people but there isn't much else I can do. I am a fugitive at 13 years old. Since I killed my father. I couldn't take the abuse anymore." He said to the man.

Oyariyu nodded at the boy. It was truly sad that he had to move here because of his father's behavior. "I have plenty of room in my home on Isbara. Its an ancestral home that my forefathers built after establishing the base. There, I could teach you the Mandalorian Way," he said with a sincere grin. "You were shown what it means not to be a Mandalorian and you were not wrong to kill your father." he added.

Kad'tal couldn't believe that he was being invited to live with the man at his home. "What would possess you to invite a murder and thief like me to live with you?" He said. "I want to change, but I don't know if I can. This life is the only thing I know anymore. Fighting and killing is a way of life for me. It not going to be easy to turn it off, you know?"
