Coming to this world was quiet a trip, Alexei had argued for quiet some time over his attire. But he argued soldiers respect soldiers who actually looked the part. He only had his pistol on his hip though, since he wasn't here to actually start a fight. And without his helmet they could see Alexei's hopefully serious look. He was here for a single job. Which, thankfully wasn't just his alone. So if he messed up it wouldn't just be on his plate, not that he came here expecting to fail. How hard would it be to tell people that the Sith was a threat and that together they would fall.

Especially how bad their military was doing lately, sure they have launched assaults on Rebel territory but they been slowly shrinking for a reason. So if just enough forces joined together no doubt they would be able to crush what remained of the Sith empire. Which would go a long way of helping Alexei and his anger over his family's death. One of the main reason's he joined the rebellion in the first place.

Looking to his partner he was hoping he had more experience being in these big meeting's. Since Alexei was rather new to this whole thing, probably a sign of the times that he was even picked for this at all. With all the operations going and the lack of man power it was a miracle that the rebellion was even still around.

"Hey so what's your plan for this meeting?" Alexei had taken his own ship here when he was told about this meeting, so they hadn't had a whole lot of time to plan before this.

Hopefully now they could at least talk about what to do.

The last big meeting Tyler Ward was at was in the council chambers at the Al'doleem temple when he said his piece about the former Jedi Master Aurora in regards to what happened on Nar Shaddaa. And then again he wasn't even around for long. He said his piece and that was it. Today, he's here with another Rebel to meet with leaders of the Bothan military and convince them that they will be protected by the Galactic Alliance if they can get the planetary leaders to join their cause. Every day the fires of Rebellion grow, from the Galactic Alliance themselves, but especially from the Mandalorians. Despite the alliance between the two being called off - despite the unification of Imperial Republica and the Old Empire - the galaxy will yet be free. Only a matter of time, even a lot of their systems have left the Empire.

Tyler would look at Alexei, whom asked Tyler what his plan was. Tyler would look at the air pondering then look back at Alexei. "Well, going in we're going to have to be cool and confident. We're assuring them that we will help defend them if they come on board with us. And if they have any questions or raise any potential issues or objections we'll address them." He had a vague sort of idea, going in he doesn't know what's exactly is going to go down once so he doesn't have a script written. There are quite a few valid reasons to get on board the GA he will be sure to bring up. "You got anything?" he asked his partner in return.

Watching the man, who seemed to stare up at nothing for a moment all dramatic like. A rather strange thing but everyone had their quirks. Though regardless he spoke up with a rather vague plan, as if they could help. He was hoping on numbers, like how many ships would be afforded to helping guard this sector, perhaps even if soldiers would be placed on this world for security.

So far there was little it seemed they were coming with. But vague promises, now Alexei isn't the most mature of wise person but he had a feeling for serious man like this that they perhaps should have more then what they were coming with. But whatever if they were selected most likely the leadership had a strong predication that the military already wished to join. They simply needed someone to extend the olive branch to.

"Alright fair point, I was wondering more about the assistance we could provide logistically for defense. I don't wish to say we can provide two fleets worth when only one is reasonably is available." Though walking up towards the government building, there was few in the way of people walking around.

"Still I have a feeling that the military here would be very willing to join if given a chance. Especially knowing that the Empire has shrunken the way it has." Politics isn't his best skill but he was at least aware of most things happening around the galaxy.

He walked slowly hoping to give himself and Tyler time to figure out small details before going inside.

Tyler nodded as Alexei made some good ideas on what to say when they meet towards with the Bothan officials. Of course theres no doubt that the Bothans aren't going to make this easy. The Bothans could just say 'no' to anything the GA offers and with that declare themselves neutral and have nothing to do with this war, plus, Bothans tend to value their own advancement over others. Convincing them won't be easy and maybe if the Empire is shrinking as it says Alexei says it is, that might be even less incentive for them to bother joining.

Once they arrived at the building, guards on the outside would ever so kindly escort the two where they need to go, taking a turbolift up, plenty of time before they get to have a talk with the brass themselves.

Once they arrive in the meeting room, they would be in the meeting room with two of the Bothawui military leaders, representing their army and the other their navy. The two leaders, Hosk Bwua'tu of their navy and Trin La'kaeseu of their army were already ready and attentive. "Gentlemen" Hosk spoke once everyone was inside and the doors to the chambers were closed. The two Bothans already know who the the GA sent and the GA rebels would likewise know who they are meeting with, there is no need for introductions, the Bothans are a practical people that way. "We know why you are here. You two wish for us to join the Galactic Alliance, right? You say that you guys can help defend us. Tell us, what do we, a neutral system have to gain by joining you? The only reason we would 'need' defending is if we joined up and made ourselves a target for the Empire." the skeptical Hosk pointed out, not hesitating to get to the point.

The Bothans may not have the greatest of defenses for their homespace right now, but the Empire hasn't been interested in Bothan space for over five-hundred years, and if they went to the GA's side then the Empire would have actual reason to strike at Bothawui all of a sudden if it came to light The Rebels better have good reason to put themselves at risk like this.

It seemed his partner wasn't interested in speaking more then that. So far though it did mean he would have to figure out what his partner would say to hopefully not become a issue with the agreement. Wondering into the building, it reminded him of Alderaan a bit, though the buildings and sense of style were different the grandeur was similar. It was designed to inspire and cause people to awe at the time and work put into the building. Still there wasn't much in terms of decorations, which was very unlike Alderaan, but that might be more due to the fact this was a military base.

But once they arrived to the meeting it seemed they were just on time. As two Bothan's were well dressed in military outfits, Alexei felt a bit underdressed. Why didn't he have some sort of made up uniform that looked at least somewhat professional. Though at least he wasn't the only one not in a outfit full of medals and other weird things. Still when the Bothan expressed a greeting, Alexei wanted to say something but it felt awkward to say anything when it just felt like he would just be repeating the Bothan. What else would you say besides hello or greetings? That was too weak for strong military leaders.

So he remain quiet as the Bothan's spoke. It wasn't surprising that they started off strong, no doubt they wanted to see how the rebels would react. And honestly Alexei was unsure himself how he should respond but for some reason his body just reacted.

"No more a target then any single system without allies to call upon if the Empire does come wanting resources. And with the Empire close to collapsing as evident by their decreasing territory, it makes them lash out like any injured animal." Alexei wasn't quiet sure where that came from, but figured just stating the Empire was about to fall if all things go well, specific on going well.

"But what happens if say they don't collapse? I imagine worlds that didn't support them when they were in need would be dealt very unkindly." Alexei would hope that Tyler would take the hint, as it seemed the Bothan's were concerned with what they would lose, which he hit on by what they could lose if they didn't join, hopefully Tyler could hit on what they could gain by joining.

The Rebel Lieutenant did note how these two just got straight to the point and didn't mince any words. After hearing just the male Bothan speak he mentally sighed as he realized how this was going to be an uphill battle, of words anyway. Tyler would also back up his partner's argument. "If you agree to join us, then we need not broadcast that you are with us. We can can keep our agreement a secret. That way we can benefit from a partnership to make sure the Empire doesn't come looking for you and have your help defeating the Sith once and for all." Having the Bothans would do well the bolster to the GA's forces. "And should the Empire try coming here, we will aid in your defense" he nodded his head. Tyler is sure that the Bothans would be open to the idea of a more discrete alliance.

The bothans would look at each other before turning back to the Rebels. The female Trin La'kaeseu would speak her peace towards the Rebels, particularly . "You say that the Empire is close to collapse..." she would push a few buttons on the central console in close to her, and then pull of a holovid of some of the news that's going on in the galaxy. "Yet the Sith are already making good strides bringing territory that ceeded from them ack into their fold" she had voice of a no-nonsense woman. The holo-vids would pull up projections of news of the Sith getting Serenno back along with other planets that used close along the former Imperial Hutta. "They aren't as close to collapse as you say they are with their new Emperor." The female Bothan was unconcerned with Alexei's last remark, both Bothan's word. She did have one more thing to leave for the Rebels to ponder over however. "You both claim that you will come to our defense, but the GA has a hard time defending their own worlds as it is. Mon Calamari?" Which has fallen to the Sith. "And the planets you've evacuated?" she pointed out. If the Rebels are making promises to defend, then it looks like they may not be able to hold themselves up to them.

It was good to see that Tyler had some good diplomacy skills. Hopefully that would make up for his own lack of skills in that department. Though as he listened to the man speak he was sure that the idea of a discrete alliance would work for the Bothan's. Not that he thought they like being sneaky but he hadn't met a Bothan who didn't like being discreet. But as the silence began and it was the female Bothan that destroyed it an with it bringing out a bunch of rather harsh points.

The news of the fall of Mon Cal, and the other worlds had reach them probably faster then the rest of the galaxy. The images of the fire raining down on him on Hoth jumped out into his mind. Not something he needed in this important meeting. But maybe that bit of pain could help push him further in this meeting.

"I was on Hoth one of the worlds that were evacuated. An I can ensure you the Empire was on the run there, they were force to resort to a orbital bombardment. But understand something these outposts were just that old bases. There are worlds openly aligned with us that have remained protected." Alexei wasn't quiet sure all the other controls of the center console but with a few buttons he was able to pull up a galaxy wide map showing the section of space which Rebels had openly held.

"These worlds has you can see have not been invaded nor is there any intelligence that would suggest that. Not just that but I am sure that the Imperial rule over most of the galaxy hasn't been that good for your world. Sith are rather volatile beings and anything could set them off. Speaking purely long term, a galaxy with the Sith no longer present is a galaxy without a dangerous faction causing mayhem and destruction in their path." Alexei had only recently starting learning about the powers of the Sith and how they were related with the Force, but he was sure that military experts as these two Bothans would have a better grasp in knowing just how chaotic they are.

Hopefully that might help change their opinions in deciding to chose a alliance for future benefit.

Alexei is quite talkative is he, Tyler thought to his head. After he spoke, he saw the two Bothan military leaders share glances at each other. They were are like time buddies and comrades-in-arms and they have the best interests of Bothan space in mind, that and they are pragmatic about it, they aren't moral crusaders like the Jedi are supposed to be.

Tyler would watch as the Bothans start looking at the two again. The two Bothan's have blank expressions on their face, you can tell they aren't yet convinced. Tyler knew this was an uphill battle coming in. Hosk of the Army spoke before Tyler had a chance to speak again. "We see them, unfortunately that doesn't refute what my colleague said." It's easy to say for right now some Rebel worlds have been protected only after the Sith started taking into high gear and plus his colleague brought up Mon Cala, an world of actual importance. "I'd also like to remind you that Bothan space has stood independent longer than the Sith Empire has existed and we've prospered and we have no evidence this will change in the future." he said in response to the Sith not doing wonders for the Bothans, either nor in the future.

"If we are really looking for our support, we need more than vague doom and gloom warnings. A secret alliance would be best but even so, we won't commit if there is little to gain. Do you have actual empirical evidence that the GA is capable of helping us defend our space, hmm?." The Bothan Admiral was looking for things like Rebel fleet and troop movements and successes of the operations, and maybe growth. Really, the Imperial Starfleet by far puts the alliance navy to shame. And the Rebel bringing orbital bombardment seems like another reason to stay away from this so the war doesn't come to them.

Of course, Tyler can see it as plain as day these Bothan's are stubborn and would rather keep the status quo instead of taking a risk for a just cause and helping vanquishing the Empire. He would answer the best we can. "Despite our setbacks on Mon Cala, Hoth, and Al'doleem, we are still growing and still slowly but surely gaining ground. The Rebel fleet, although not as big as the Sith fleet, is still not to be trifled with. And the Alliance would stand ready to defend help defend your world should the Sith come this way. We have operatives right now on Fondor trying to get their shipyards. And we did manage to get use some use out of of the Mon Cala shipyards before they took their time reclaiming the world. The Alliance has no shortage of people who are looking to fight against Sith aggression." Tyler would say as he glances at his partner who might have things to add, or not. "I'm one of those people. You read the reports on Axxila right? I was there." Just an example referring to the Sith attempt to sack the Goliath space station above Axxila, which was reported to have Rebels and Mandalorians thwart the Sith, and ended in the deaths of it's Sith infiltrators.

Cowards, that was the first word that came to his mind when the Bothan's tried to explain how they couldn't really join. But that thought quickly left him as he realized that that this wasn't what was going on. No they were actually taking things seriously but he could fear just the tiny bit of fear. Maybe it was his mind just trying to justify the Bothan's inaction, he didn't quiet understand it. He had always been a man of action even when it didn't matter. Still the problem was the Imperial army wasn't just fighting the alliance, it was the Mandalorians who have had massive success. Even if the Empire were now reunified it didn't mean internal strugglers weren't a problem for them still.

Of course that didn't mean it was easy to simply jump into the fight to knock the Empire down. But this was becoming the most opportune time to do it. All it required was people to have the strength and bravery to jump and take it. An he would do anything it took to make sure it did collapse.

Listening to Tyler it was clear he was a true believer in the cause. An a strong voice for it as well, which was something he wasn't. Yet that wouldn't stop him from still trying his best. An when Tyler mentioned having no shortage of people wanting to fight the Imperial he figured he could add something.

"I can understand being concern about safety for your people. Which is something the Rebellion would ensure if a alliance was made, but it should also be noted the Imperial has no short list of enemies, the Mandalorians are another force that has the Imperial's focus. We aren't here selling pipe dreams there is a real chance that the Sith could fall, the number of enemies for the Sith grow and the number brave enough to fight them is also growing. Joining would mean all those enemies would fight and help keep Bothawui out of the Sith's hands." He hoped the idea of being on a growing side of forces fighting the Sith would be all the encouragement they needed.

But at this point he couldn't be sure of anything.

"Alright, we've heard enough" the non-nonsense Bothan woman Trin La'kaeseu told the two Rebels and gestured Alexei to stop talking. Trin would look over at her colleague and then back to the Rebels. "We will deliberate, excuse us" the woman then gestured the two leave the room and a guard came in and escorted the two out and the two Bothan military leaders would discuss what was said in private and reach a decision.

--------
--------

The guard would then escort the two Rebels back in the chambers. Tyler wasn't sure if he and Alexei did a good job convincing the two Bothans to join the GA. Tyler believes in the cause and the GA needs Bothan support, but he knows he isn't a diplomat and the Bothans had the look they were unmoving and ultimately were going to decline. The suspense was getting to Tyler as they stood in their place while the two Bothan's begin to speak. "Gentlemen." Hosk said, his facial expression was blank and looking on his body language it looked like he didn't have anything positive to say. "We've took into consideration your words, and we are yet to be fully convinced that aligning with the Rebels is in our best interests."

Well, shit

"... But. There is some merit to what you guys. So here is what's going to happen, we will support joining the GA as long as you guys promise to come to our defense, but Bothawui will deny any involvement being with or working with the Rebel movement. Accept these conditions and you have our support" The two Bothan's glared the Rebels "And do know even then, you will still have to convince the Bothan council to go with this as well, which I heard you guys have a meeting up up with, right?" she paused. "Are we in agreement?" the general asked.

Tyler saw what they are going for, for them wanting the GA as a safety net and assisting them as they see fit, while wanting to deny being with the GA as to minimize retaliation, so trying to gain perks of being with and not being with at the same time. With that deal from the two Bothans as good as it's going to get. Tyler would nod his head in agreement, accepting the two Bothan's conditional support. "We are in agreement."

"Alright. Well then, good luck" Hosk nodded as the meeting was dismissed. The guard outside would come back in and escort the two Rebels out for a second time while the Bothan military leaders head out as well.
