TIME: 11:38 am
LOCATION: Lothal

CLUNK! Emma jumped awake when something fell off of her dresser. She sat up, to find that it was one of her belts. Emma rubbed her eyes, picked it up and came face to face with her alarm clock when she looked back up to her dresser. Shoot!! She was supposed meet a new master (( @jamessour )) on Lothal in no more than fifty minutes for some new training.

In panic, she jumped up from her bed, getting dressed quickly in her robes and tall brown boots. She quickly grabbed her lightsabers, hooking them to her belt as she then pulled her long blonde hair into a quick French braid that came over her shoulder, down to her ribcage.

After she was dressed, she ran outside of the abandoned apartment and to the airport, making it in time to catch the current flight getting ready to take off to Lothal. Luckily she made it in just enough time, but she was cutting the clock. It was 11:28 and she only had ten minutes. The shuttle landed two seconds later and Emma was the first off, bolting her way over to an old cantina just on the outside of town. Using the force to slightly enhance her speed, she hadn't done too much with that, but was getting a hang of it, she soon made it to where she was supposed to meet the master just in time.

Friedrich cursed as his weight shifted to his right leg. It was still recovering after his triumph over a Sith on Felucia. Since then, he had reported his success to the Jedi, and was assigned to Lothal. He loathed Lothal. Yes, it held spiritual significance, and he had trained here as a student, but he would much rather be on the front line. What could be worse, was that he would be overseeing combat training of several Padawans. This frustrated him to no end. He was not at his most useful to the Order here.

Friedrich had arrived to the practice fields early. He knew he needed to rehab his leg, and couldn't let this time away from the front lines diminish his edge. He was wearing tight black training robes that would not get in the way of his movements. While his leg was hurting, he would still work on cardio. Dropping down, he began a series of pushups, and crunches. He would continue until his first student arrived.

Emma looked at the time real quick and noticed that she had a few minutes before she'd arrive. She sighed and stopped running, slowing down to a walk. She usually wasn't late to things and was generally awake at eight am on the spot, but for some reason today, things didn't go as they usually did. She felt late and hoped that her new master wouldn't be upset with her for being a little late. She was always trying to make a good impression when she met new people and hated being late.

Lothal wasn't one of her favorites, but she guessed that's what the Order could think of that was kind of out of the way. There was also a Jedi Temple there. Emma had been here once and ended up being chased down by two bounty hunters that she ended up having to defend herself against and things didn't necessarily end well for her in the fight, other than she lived to see tomorrow, resisted capture and pretty much scared them in never finding her again. The only bad sad about it, was that she had received scars in the process and had no way to heal them.

As Emma came upon the place she was supposed to meet, she saw a man in black robes and figured that this was probably him. Taking a deep breath, Emma walked over to where he was.

Standing, he quickly noticed the arrival of another Jedi. Friedrich walked carefully to where his light sabers were, limping ever-so-slightly, and picked them up. Turning he walked back to the center of the field, and stood, staring at his student, waiting. Even though he wasn't moving, he somehow appeared impatient.

Emma saw as he stood up, going over to grab his sabers. Two sabers? She felt a little excited as someone else also had two lightsabers. She noted that he seemed to limp, but she wasn't going to go there. As he walked to the center of the field, he looked at her, or more like stared at her.

Taking another deep breath, Emma walked over to where he stood and bowed her head. "Master Friedrich, I'm Emma Bryant." she said next looking back up to him. He was a little bit taller than her and she had noticed that he had seemed a little bit impatient, so she kept her mouth shut to make sure she would stay on his good side.

"Fine." Friedrich responded to her introduction harshly, his voice cold. It wasn't her fault that he was impatient. Friedrich felt slighted. He knew the battle of Telos was happening, but because of his kriffing leg, he was left behind.
"I trust you understand basic saber combat. Please switch your saber to a training intensity, so we can begin." Friedrich adjusted a switch on both his hilts and waited for Emma to do the same. In his experience, a student was best crafted by fighting. Hard.

Emma was a bit taken back by how he responded, but she guessed that she understood. She couldn't help but think about his leg. Maybe that was why he was irritated. She knew she could heal it through the force, completely. Someone in the Jedi had taught her when she was younger.

Emma pulled both of her sabers off of her belt, switching them to the Training intensity like he asked her to. When she finished, she looked back up to him and gave a nod to signify that she was ready.

Igniting both his blades simultaneously, he shifted his weight to his favorite position, modifying it slightly to compensate for his hurt leg. His left leg and arm were forward, with the saber held backhanded, protecting his legs. While his right leg was back, with his right arm and saber, held for-handed, were held over his head, ready to strike. "Muscle and skill is developed through practice and repetition. Here, if you fail you will be burned. In the war, if you fail you will die. Now, let's practice."

It was abundantly obvious that this position had been honed for years. He looked natural, strong, and ready to strike. He would hold nothing back.

Emma noticed as he took position and she ignited her blue and green blades and took her own position. She stood forwards, holding her sabers in backwards form and stood straight, holding her left hand behind her and her right hand in front of her.

She listened as he explained what would happen and she knew that he had to be firm if she was going to be trained properly. She kinda expected him to not hold anything back and she was ready for any strike he would send her way. When he finished explaining, she waited for his first strike.

Friedrich slowly closed the distance with a couple steps, not letting his form slip. As soon he got close enough, he swung wide with his right blade towards her left side.

His left blade maintained it's position to block incase of a quick counter strike.

Emma watched closely as he moved slowly, swinging towards her left side. Instinctively, Emma blocked his strike before sending her own strike towards his right shoulder, still holding her saber in a backhand form.

As their blades met, Emma brought her other blade down. Bringing his left saber up for the block, which would position it easy to block from her other blade, he throws his weight forward, ducking his shoulder to hit her in the chest with his body.

When he blocked Emma's strike, she didn't even realize that she was open as he then slammed himself into her. Having the breath slightly knocked from her, she regained her footing almost immediately, adding a spin as she was pushed backwards.

Then, she attempted, swinging her right saber up to his left side and her left saber across and neck height.

His shoulder landed, and as she was forced back, she added a spin. As she started her spin, Friedrich threw his left hand up and used the force to send a very strong push at her. This would interrupt her ability to counter immediately, and he regained his original stance.

As Emma started her twist, she was very forcefully pushed backwards, next forcing her to land on her back. Her breath was knocked out of her at the same time as her lightsabers fell out of her hands and she just sat there for a second before getting right back up, picking her sabers up and igniting them once more, ready for a next strike.

She probably needed a moment, but she didn't care.

Friedrich wouldn't rest a moment until this student learned that she could fail. As she started standing he pounced forward. He kept his left saber down to defend his legs, but used his momentum, and his strength to bring his right saber down hard aimed at her right shoulder. As she was in the process of standing, it would be difficult for her to get up and block and likely would have to choose on or the other.

Either worked for Friedrich. He would keep pounding until she broke. That was the only way to learn.

Emma realized that Friedrich wasn't giving up. This was normal. As she started to stand back up, he came on top of her, taking a strike at her right shoulder. It was a hard and forceful strike, but instead, she fell back down to the ground, igniting her sabers, making an X with them as she blocked his saber.

She wouldn't give up very easily until she knew she was beat and right now, she still had moves. He would have to be even more difficult than this to prove that she needed more training. Yes, she knew she did, she just wanted to be proven of so.

Friedrich smiled a cruel smile as she blocked his strike with both blades and immediately brought his left saber down in a stab towards her lower abdomen. This would force her hand: block the stab and potentially get seared by his right saber which was still being forced down towards her chest, or take the stab and receive a terrible burn from the saber. Or perhaps Friedrich would be surprised by the student's moves.

Emma read his smile in half a second and narrowed her eyes in a way that kinda said, 'No you didn't'. As she sensed where his other saber was going, she kept her left saber locked with his right one and blocked his other saber. She was a little more muscular than he would expect as she reached downwards and blocked his left saber.

Friedrich was impressed, and decided to test her even more. Laying into the weight of both sabers, he brought up his right leg and trust it down, aimed for her knee, and he hoped to cause her enough pain to allow one of his sabers to hit her.
