After they left Nar Shada'a, Jenton turned on the ship's autopilot, then stood up. He told Eris to follow him and walked back into the massive cargo hold. There were two long metal rods leaning against a wall. He grabbed them and handed one to Eris. Confused, she looked at it, and then at him.
"What's this?" She asked.
"You wanted a lightsaber, didn't you?" Jenton responded.
"Well, yeah, but--this is a stick."
"You need to know the basic motions first."
Eris was still perplexed, but she did not argue. Jenton demonstrated a few grips, and she tried all of them. She found she was most comfortable with a one handed grip. She waved the rod around a bit, then thrust it forward.
"Very good. Now, how would you defend yourself?" Jenton quizzed her.
Eris held the rod in front of her, diagonally.
"Correct, now, if someone swings at your side?"
Eris pictured someone swinging a saber at her neck and held the rod up to block.
"Excellent." Jenton said. "Now, you seem to be good with the offensive, and your natural reflexes will guide you in a battle, so..." He raised his rod. "Let's duel."
They swung at the same time, their sabers clashing. They continued to parry each other's swings until Jenton started to press against Eris's rod. Eris pushed back. She pulled her lightsaber away and thrusted forward, the end touching Jenton's chest before he could blink, let alone react. He sighed in defeat and grinned.
"Your speed will definitely be an advantage." He said. "Use it well."
Eris nodded, and they returned to the cockpit to land on Coruscant. Eris didn't ask what they were doing. It wouldn't matter anyways. They walked out of the hangar and caught a cab to an old diner.
