DESCRIPTION
The Lee-Char-class star destroyer is a heavy capital ship manufactured by the Mon Calamari Shipyards, and used almost exclusively by the Dac Home Fleet, the defensive navy of the Mon Calamari government. Named for a beloved monarch who ruled the planet Dac during and immediately after the Clone Wars, the Lee-Char marks a return by the peoples of Dac to the construction of large warships, a troubling sign of the Galaxy's current instability.

The Lee-Char is a departure from classical Mon Calamari starship design, drawing heavy inspiration from the creations of the Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps, which supplied capital ships to the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Long and skeletal, with armor plating spaced away from the hull, the MC105 is one of the most intimidating Mon Calamari designs in centuries. Unlike its CIS predecessors, however, which were known for being relatively fragile, the MC105 incorporates the Mon Calamari penchant for durability and redundant backups, as well as a high degree of automation. As a result, MC105s have a relatively small crew for their size, as well as a high degree of survivability in combat.

After the planet's occupation during the First Order-Resistance War, the defense planners of Dac have put a great deal of time and resources into designing starships which can go toe-to-toe with the most powerful vessels the Galaxy can throw against them. To this end, the Lee-Char is among the most heavily armed warships in space for its size and crew, incorporating 12 heavy turbolaser batteries, 64 medium turbolaser batteries, 36 medium ion cannons, 16 concussion missile launchers and a whopping 40 tractor beam emitters. This is backed up by a pair of heavy deflector shield projectors, with 1 active and 1 in reserve during combat. Unlike previous Mon Calamari designs, the Lee-Char is equipped with heavy doonium armor over most of its hull, allowing it to take a beating even with the shields down.

In keeping with Galactic Civil War and First Order-Resistance War doctrine, the Lee-Char can function as a carrier, with space for 72 starfighters or light starbombers, and up to 12 shuttles or similarly sized craft. Though the Lee-Char is intended for a primarily defensive role, this capacity gives the vessel an enhanced strike and interception capability.

In general, MC105 Lee-Chars are powerful ships, but are not usually seen outside Mon Calamari space. The Dac Home Fleet operates a squadron of 12 of these vessels, with an unknown number of incomplete hulls on "precautionary standby" to be completed and commissioned in the event of a protracted war. The type is not offered for export.

LEGALITY
Restricted. MC105 Lee-Char star cruisers are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons, making them illegal for civilian ownership. They are also restricted from export by the Mon Calamari government, and tend not to travel outside Mon Calamari space.

INTENT
To create an update of the Mon Calamari cruisers from Legends and Canon for the current timeline.

RESTRICTIONS
All existing MC105 Lee-Char star cruisers are property of the Mon Calamari government, and are not offered for sale to individuals or factions. They may not be used by such without a compelling reason, to be evaluated and approved or disapproved by staff.
