DESCRIPTION​

In the distant past of the Jedi Order, the Malla-Class Starfighter served proudly as the symbol of Jedi rushing to the aid of a Galaxy that desperately needed them to pull them out of the fires of war. When violence was needed in the stars, the Order used to call on dedicated squadrons of Jedi Knights and Masters who excelled at the art of space combat - and those Jedi Ace pilots often flew in Malla-Class Starfighters.

An old standard consigned to history by long periods of peace and lost histories by the Jedi Order, the Malla was largely forgotten about by the Jedi Order and utterly forgotten about by the Galaxy as a whole. It took the Jedi reclaiming Brighthome for the schematics of the Malla-Class Starfighter to fall back into the hands of the Jedi Order and, needing both a symbol and a dedicated fighter they could maintain without outside help, for them to decide that it was needed once again.

Although the design was largely unchanged from its old format, the new model of Malla-Class Starfighter was able to be fitted with a light deflector screen generator after some of the hardware within the fighter was upgraded to physically smaller models that had come about in recent years. The limited number of the new model of Malla-Class Starfighters comes from the limited nature of the Jedi Order Engineering Corps - making the Malla-Class Starfighter a rare sight even as they work hard to make more.

Until the Jedi gain contacts within shipbuilding circles, the number of Malla-Class Starfighters active in the Galaxy will remain very small and the ships will only be granted to Jedi who have proven their combat flying abilities.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. Although an older design, the Malla-class are starfighters, and are subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.

INTENT​

To re-create a starfighter from the site's past that served as a Jedi Order starfighter used by Jedi pilots operating as a squadron, to give players the option of doing so again with a classic fighter.

RESTRICTIONS​

Yes. Produced by and for the Jedi Order alone in relatively small numbers, this would be both rare and faction-specific.
