Formos was once the sight of a mediocre empire. Though mediocrity doesn't stand the test of time very well, planets somehow manage. As for Formos, it had fallen to the smugglers, made famous by the Kessel Run, however other than a simple smugglers port and spice mines, Formos was... unremarkable. The Imperial Legion thought otherwise, and in all of it's glory, it seeks to rid the planet of the scum that dwells on the surface.

Formos holds an interesting foothold in Hutt Space, far enough away that the Empire can keep an eye on them, yet right in the mix to disturb any smuggling activity in the area. For her initiation test, Frankie was put with one of the hardest Commanders of the Sith Empire, Phyxsis the Flayer, a superb Sith Marauder, though he was best known for his temperament and emotionless towards battle. An all around excellent Sith, yet when dealing with the Legion he was known for slaughtering his own men because of incompetence. Frankie wasn't going down like that. She had been squadron leader in the pilots academy on Ord Radama, though now it was the big leagues. And she was fighting smugglers, notorious for their own piloting skills. It would be a tough battle but Frankie was a worthy adversary.

The small Frigate was coming out of hyperspace soon, warning lights flooded the hallways, sirens blared in the distance. The Starfighter pilots were gathering for a mission brief soon, Phyxsis was rumored to be there, maybe she could prove herself early on.

This assignment hadnt particularly excited Phyxsis. Then again, he wasnt exactly capable of feeing excitement. The assignment, in itself, was fairly simple. Go to a planet, crush the orbital resistance, land on said planet, crush ground resistance, and leave the rest to his superiors. All he cared about was getting the opportunity to kill. He slowly walked his way off of his ship and into the hangar where several fighter pilots prepared for a briefing. This is where he would get assigned his squad, which usually consisted of the most incapable and useless people in the entire universe. He wasnt excited about that either. As he approached the briefing area, he could see pilots attempting to look emotionless, though they had a difficult time. Fear is in every single heart, except for those who have it repressed with robotics. He finally reached the area with the others and remained silent. He put his hands behind his back in a regal manner, waiting for the briefing to begin. He gazed around and eyed a particular pilot. A young woman, by the looks of it. She had a look of determination in her eye, as if she couldnt wait to kill someone. Phyxsis "respected" that.

The Geonosian commanded respect as he entered the briefing circle. He was taller than an average Geonosian, many of the young pilots here had never even seen one before. Frankie sure hadn't. Her first thought seeing him from across the room was that she had the urge to squash him like a bug, although this Bug looked menacing. His approach gave the squad shutters through their spines. He was a veritable force of nature.

The sergeant began to speak to the briefing, "Commander," the sgt. said nodding to Phyxsis, "Alright, the three squad leaders are Flynn, Higgins, and Quil. Flynn... you're with Zeta Squad, Higgins... Banshee Squad, and Quil... Beta squad. Banshee will lead followed by Beta, and Zeta to bring up the rear. The smugglers aren't expecting us, but don't think we'll be able to hit them without opposition. Flynn, you're crew is still green so you'll get the ones trying to escape. Plan of attack it to jump out of hyperspace, Banshee squad attacks Secter 3 on the the ground, pushing enemies out of the port, Beta squad makes a path for ground forces to land, and Zeta cleans up the skies. Commander, you have the floor."

Frankie caught a small glimpse of Phyxsis, she felt like she was being watched, she tried to put on a brave face, but immediately remembered that the Sith had no emotions, no point in doing that. She refocused her attention back on the mission at hand. It was unlikely that she would make her first kill today, her real goals were to keep her squad alive. This was her first and maybe only chance to make a good impression. She was in this for the long haul.

"Commander, you have the floor" Phyxsis nodded and added his position. "I will be following banshee squad, clearing out the port and destroying all opposition. I expect air support if things get rough, so do not let me down, or you will understand where i get the title the flayer from. Understood?!" Phyxsis didnt expect these cadets to understand but threats always seemed to work. The squads began to disperse to their ships. Before she left, Phyxsis stopped Flynn. "I hear you have a good reputation as a pilot. I hope you put the skills to good use and take down the opposition without feeling. Good luck, cadet." Phyxsis left for the dropship, eyeing Frankie one last time before gliding over to the dropship.

Flynn was in shock, it seemed like the commander had singled her out for excellence. Of course the small meet and greet between the two caught the attention of everyone else, but she didn't care. Her attitude was spot on, enough so that one of the hardest Sith Marauders of the Empire had recognized her.

She ran to her ship, a classic X-58 Interceptor, enough speed to break the sound barrier double fold, and enough maneuverability to turn on a dime, especially for her. Frankie climbed into the Interceptor turned a few dials, flicked a couple switches, and the engines started to purr. Her team shot into her ear through the comms link. Zeta squadron reporting in. "Alright squad, time to show these vets what we're capable of. Take down as many as you can. Stick to the 2-1-3 formation, I'll lead. Highest priority is to take down the ones who escape from Banshee squad. Power up! Thrusters good... Go go go!"

Her squad of six interceptors flew out of the small hangar. Moving at high velocity speeds. The second the the Frigate exited hyperspace it was all out war. The Frigate had exited into a battlefield. Ships fighting ships already. Though it seemed to be light freighters vs. light freighters. We had come into a dispute between cargo. But it didn't matter much, the Empire had a goal, and the mission was still a go. Banshee squad stuck to the plan, they made it to the atmosphere as soon as possible, Beta squad followed with the trooper transports, and Zeta squad went to business.

Two interceptors tore through the small dispute, landing several critical hits on the main functionality of the leading smuggler vessels. The middle interceptor flew through launching an EMP mine which was triggered almost immediately. The last three ripped apart the five front liner ships. destroying them within seconds. The first deaths of battle had been reaped by Zeta Squadron. The Smugglers all tried to turn and leave, but the Interceptors were too fast. All but one ship was torn apart, creating a small debris field above the planet.

Several minutes had passed by, after every ship in space was disbanded, Zeta squad took to the skies just above Secter 3 where Banshee and Beta Squads were. Flynn saw several Interceptors down and out. It seemed that almost all of Banshee squad had been hit with aerial defenses. Beta Squad was lucky enough to make it down with three ships remaining, but they deployed all the troops in time. Banshee squad had been hit with massive casualties. Only Higgins, the leader of Banshee squad and his second mate were still alive. Smoke and ash were everywhere. Zeta quad reformed and started making several strafing runs on Secter 3. Many defenses had been knocked out already. But some were still very functional.

"Watch your six Zeta-4! No one's going down today. Move through! move through! High speeds! Zeta-6 hit the turret with everything you got! Reform on me!"

The smoke cleared as the Interceptor squad of Zeta blasted through the blackened sky. The team hit the ground with everything they had. Missiles rained down, destroying small buildings, walls, air defense turrets and even killing a few smugglers trying to escape into the wild lands of Formos.

"Form up on me Zeta Squadron, I spot two smugglers on the ground trying to get to their ships, take them out. Zeta 5 you and I handle the ones already in the air. Lets give Banshee squad time to get back to the Frigate."

Frankie and Corvo sped off, leaving the rest of the Interceptors from Zeta squad behind them. Three smuggler vessels were trying to get away after they saw Zeta squad dispatch several of their buddies on the ground, but Frankie wasn't letting anyone get off so easily. She opened fire, completely eviscerating one smuggler, Zeta 5 hit the right side of one ship, causing it to lose control and crash in the badlands. The other one tried to speed away, but with the combined power from Zeta 5 and her own fighter, Zeta 1, the duo took it out fairly easily.

Returning to Secter 3 they noticed the the blaster fire had seemingly stopped. Several of the thugs, thieves and smugglers had given up or died. It was a short battle for Frankie, but she had done some of her best work so far for the Empire. Zeta, Beta and Banshee squads had done their work here, Secter 3 was knocked out, and better ground forces could move in and occupy this strategic vantage point of Formos.
