This isn't really a moral dilemma for me, but I was wondering if it was for other people.

Does anyone know someone who has killed people? A family member has just told me about the seventh (at least) person he has killed, without a care. And I honestly do not care myself, and love him anyway.

How would you all feel?

Or do you think I'm wrong for feeling the way I do? lol

Reasons matter, although I would be somewhat concerned if the person was killing for no other reason then to kill.

You might consider investing in improved locks and lexan windows. Just a tip there.

Well, yes I think reasons matter as well. Some people though, believe it is a sin no matter what. But I am not against killing as a rule.

And I'm not worried about my safety, especially not when this relative is staying with us lol.

Depends on the context. If it's the military, police, etc., and the person was carrying out a normal mission, acting in self-defense, and what not, "killer" wouldn't be the term I would use.

If we're talking about a murderer, though...that's another story.

I'd still care if the killing was out of self-defense, protecting someone else, or maybe if a death threat was received. Other then that, I probably wouldn't love the relative if it was out of cold blood.

It depends on how close I am to the relative. If my brother killed someone, I....well, I probably would have been right there with him. (depending on the reasons, but he is my best friend in da hole wurld :CHappy)

But if my 3rd cousin twice removed killed someone, I probably wouldn't find out about it anyways. Love a person, not their actions.

It's not who we are underneath. It's what we DOOOOOOOOOOO that defines us.

"Though a man's hands may falter, his intention is the only question of character."

"If you truly believe something, your actions will show for it."

You completely failed to mention the context, neutrino

Did he kill the person out of self-defense? Is he in the military? Did he murder them in cold blood?

lol failed is not the word. I'm not going to put details on here.

And I meant killer, not murderer.
Murder seems open to interpretation.
Killer, not so much. Even though Brandon is saying that the term is ambigouos.
For reference, I agree with dictionary.com's first definition of killer- a person or thing that kills.

I was asking about your principles. And it seems most of the people who have commented so far share similar feelings.

Then you're not going to get a straight answer.

Call it what you will, context is still required.

We have no Idea if he killed out of self-defense, or if he's a goddamn murderer.
There's a fine difference between someone taking the life of a person out of the need to survive, and one who does it for another reason.

I never said he was a murder, just a killer. I don't know if he's a murder, but that's not the point. I was asking about you guys, sorry if I've been confusing. I already said that my own case is not a moral dilemma for myself.

A killer is an assassin, serial killer or murderer in general, but not someone who kills out of self-defense.

We really can't answer the question better than we already have without knowing the context of what you're asking, i.e. the context of the kill.

Again, I am sorry if I was confusing. I'm not asking about my relative. I was asking if you have been faced with a situation like mine.
