Dromund Kass had a long history with the sith and it was that reason Balin thought many sith fleeing the attack on Korriban would go there. He was very wrong. The planet seemed deserted, ruins of old cities could be seen on the decent from orbit but even from there you could tell no one had lived in them for millennia before. The sad truth was he had no communication with anyone and not enough fuel on the shit he'd taken to get anywhere else. The young sith was stuck and alone, not exactly the outcome one wants after watching his home blown to bits.

Sipping water from a river running only a few hundred yards away from his ship the young acolyte felt exhausted, he would have to try and find someone on the planet but not today, the sun was setting and he had no idea what lurked in the night on this planet and from what he knew of old records and what he'd read up on it was not a nice place in general, never mind at night. So walking back into his ship Balin closed the doors not bothering to lock them, if someone came he'd rather them able to get in so he might have a chance of talking with them even if their intentions might not be as helpful as he would want them to be.

Before the darkness of sleep fell Balin did make one more decision. and that decision was to find a way back home. Not back to the sith.

Despite the past that the planet had and the darkness that emanated from it in subtle waves, Dromund Kaas could actually be quite a relaxing place during sunset. Perhaps it was Xanthus's affinity for the Dark Side of the Force, or perhaps his natural state of being Grey that made the dark emanations feel more relaxing than stifling.

Either way, after only being with the Order of Revan for a short time, Xanthus already discovered prime meditation spots nearby to the place where the Order gathered. One such location was a nearby section of jungle nearby to a river, the area being covered by rocks that were supportive of a certain master sitting on them. Listening to the sounds of the river and looking at the sunset, Xanthus was simply spending his time in his mind. He was thinking about the events that had brought him to this world and Order, and was also wondering at what the Force intended to do with him here.

His thoughts would be interrupted by the feeling of an approaching presence, someone sensitive to the ebbs and flows of the Force. They were nearby to him, but far enough away that the other members of the Order might not have been able to sense them. Not wearing his armor, Xanthus was instead clad in grey robes and a hooded over-robe and carried only his three lightsabers with him attached to cords about his waist. Pulling up the hood of his over-robe, he would walk towards the individual he was feeling only to arrive at the destination of a landed starship.

Night had just fallen by the time he arrived at the vessel, as he had taken his time walking to arrive there. Looking at the ship, Xanthus could sense that the person he was looking for was aboard. Walking up to the entrance to the vessel, he would find that it was unlocked. He would then simply enter the craft with a shrug before calling out: "Hello?"

Before he could even fall asleep it seemed someone stumbled on his ship. "Damn it, I must not have looked hard if someone already found me." His thoughts raced as to what to do, the ship wasn't all that big, the guest would likely find the small room he was sleeping in very easily and that meant he wouldn't have much time to get dressed again. Still groggy and tired he moved to get his pants on first but banged his head on the shelf beside the bed making a loud thump followed by a grown of pain. Of course his guest would hear it and move towards the room he moved as quickly as he could. Of course he didn't make it in time, the door opened to the small bedroom to a young sith with only one leg in his pants. Freezing for a moment before turning his head to the guest he said "Uh.... Hi there, nice to meet you."

The thunk was audible even from the ship's entrance, especially for Xanthus's enhanced senses. In his case, he could even tell precisely where it had come from and made for the direction without much hesitation. Placing his hand on the hilt of one of his lightsabers, he would make his way through the ship's interior quite quietly just in case. Approaching the entrance to what he believed to be the room he was looking for, Xanthus opened the door. What he had expected, he could not precisely have said beyond the expectations of a novice Force adept. What he did not expect was to find a novice Force adept with one leg in his pants and one leg on the outside. A moment of silence occurred before the boy spoke up with a greeting. After blinking a few times, Xanthus would respond. "Nice to meet you as well. Do you...ah, need a moment?" If the boy answered yes, then Xanthus would close the door and wait outside patiently with arms crossed as he leaned against a wall.

"A moment would be good, if you don't mind" Waiting to move another muscle until the visitor closed the door Balin went back to quickly putting on his pants and clipping his lighsaber to his left side. Embarrassed was the best word to describe how he felt, although why he should be embarrassed was clouded. It was his ship in his bed. It was this guy who made himself at home so quickly. Once his pants where securely on, done up with his lightsaber clipped he left his shirt and moved to the door walking out towards the swiveling pilots seat. Sitting down he turned to face his guest. "Sorry about that. I wasn't exactly expecting people to find me here. It seemed so deserted from the view on my way down." Pausing to catch his breath the boy continued "I am assuming since you got here so quickly you live near here? If so I could use some help getting off world. I came from Korriban but after that attack I don't think this war is what I want in life and a missing acolyte will be the least of the worries the Imperium has if you know what I mean." It was then that Balin noticed one of the lightsabers the man was wearing and his eyes opened wide as he prayed that he was not a sith however unlikely that may be.

Eventually the boy emerged from his room, thankfully fully clothed and even carrying a lightsaber. Ah, so this must have been an Acolyte then, unless chance was being particularly strange today and a Padawan had found themselves alone this deep in Sith space. Moving out of the boy's way as he passed, Xanthus leaned against another wall when the boy sat in the pilot's seat and turned to address him. He simply nodded in affirmation of the apology and nodded again to the question of whether or not he lived around here. "You know..." He said a few moments after the boy stopped speaking. "Had I been a Sith, that last bit would have been a bad choice of words, Acolyte." After his statement, Xanthus chuckled quietly. "Thankfully however, I'm not a Sith anymore and I know exactly what you're talking about. Sure thing, I can get you off planet if you want and if you have a particular place to go."

With a breath of relief Balin felt more grateful then when his mother hadn't given him much trouble for smashing a window back home. An ex sith was probably the best thing this guy could be. Someone who seemed to get why one wouldn't want to be with the sith and how they treated people. The man seemed so genuine, nice even. Even from an ex sith you would expect some kind of harshness but if it was in this mysterious man on Dromund Kass he hadn't shown it as of yet. Even offering him a way off world, what he wanted was yet to be seen. Not much in terms of Balin's body was left to the imagination and he desperately hoped this wasn't the kind of guy who was nice to get certain... privileges from people. Whatever it was he would want would be found out eventually, for now at least he had to try and get back home, if of course his parents would take him. "I lived on Hapes before I went to Korriban. My father is a noble there, first son of the Queen Mother actually. Not sure if he would pay you for bringing me home though. Only met him just before the sith arrived to get me. My mother would give you what she could though! We never lived as we might have as nobles but we where well off, never had to starve. Of course I should try and contact them before anything, it wouldn't help much to get all the way over there to find they don't want me." Taking a deep breath as well as a pause before looking down at his knees muttering "Sorry, Guess I'm a bit overly exited"

"A noble heir from Hapes ended up on Korriban in time for it to be destroyed, and now he is here on Dromund Kaas." The statement was aimed more towards himself than the child, though he had muttered it loud enough to be heard. He had sounded mildly bemused for a moment before he shrugged. With the many thousands of Acolytes that existed, this particular story was not that far out there at all. 'My father is the prince of the planet' was definitely a new twist, but Xanthus had heard stranger in his time. "Oh don't worry, I completely understand. It's to be expected. For what it's worth, I don't see why they wouldn't want you. You are their kid after all. By the way kid, what is your name?" Might as well have more than "kid" to call the boy if there was soon to be a trip to Hapes.

"Balin Brun sir, last name obviously from my mother. What about you?" Really the boy was nervous to hear the name. Ex sith where not people you messed around with, not to mention the only one he really knew about was the ex sith assassin Xanthus. A white haired crusader had mentioned him in a lightsaber class once. The crusader had gotten a lightsaber from the assassin and kept it as a token from his acolyte days and a reminder not to trust even the sith that seem most favorable. An odd lesson but one Balin had experimented with and had saved him from a few situations. Walking towards the holocommunicator on the ship Balin tried to fill the quiet with idol conversation "I mean the only ex sith I know about is Xanthus, not sure if I am even supposed to know of him but a crusader blabbed about him once. Stole a lightsaber of his apparently. Weird guy though so... bland, his stare made us all so uneasy." That's what he got out before the holo started up.

At the question of his name, Xanthus opened his mouth to speak but closed it again when the boy continued into mentioning the one ex-Sith that he knew. When Balin finished his tale on how he knew the name, Xanthus could not help himself but to throw his head back in laughter. It might have seemed to be completely out of the ordinary to the boy, but he could not help himself. He would have thought of himself as being somewhat irrelevant by now in Sith circles, considering the fact that his betrayal had happened quite some time ago and the Imperium had much more to worry about nowadays than an errant Sith Executioner who was not even causing them significant damage.

Apparently this was not the way of things however, as at least one of his old students still thought about him from time to time. "That must have been Raslekx. Might sound strange but I hope his career is going well. He was my student once upon a time." Even as he was speaking, Xanthus was still chuckling the last bits of mirth away. "Sorry about that Balin, I was just caught off guard. I didn't think that I was still relevant enough to be on anyone's mind at this point. But where are my manners? Xanthus Dar'Manda, at your service. I hope whatever comments you heard were good ones." Finally done with his laughter, Xanthus took a moment to make a quick little greeting half-bow before leaning against the wall and promptly falling right back into soft laughter.

The image of Balin's father dressed in very fancy Hapan dress light up the room and the kid suddenly got a huge lump in his throat. Unable to speak his surprised father did it for him. "Balin? Are you finished training already? I'd assumed they would take longer then a couple years to make you one of the monst... I mean warriors they are.' Swallowing hard he replied "I left" The reaction on the middle aged prince was noticeable immediately and he replied swiftly "If you left son you should know how dangerous it is for you to be contacting me. The sith don't mess around with anything at all recently, but I assume you got out when Korriban was hit which might make them assume your dead, better I don't need anymore sith coming here..." Uncaring about the rant from a father he met once in his life Balin couldn't help but Interrupt "How's my mother?" The words where supposed to come out strong, confident like what would have been expected of a six-teen year old boy in the sith to sound but as the word mother left his lips a tear ran down his face.

"She's well lets say she was far better off when you where here. I had tabs on you and iv kept some around to check on her and she has crashed. Iv gone to see her but she doesn't want to see me, any reminder of you seems to put her in a mood. She seems to be eating, the house is a lot messier than the day you left, though I'm not sure what it usually was... Anyway you wont get a hold of her on one of these things, she wont answer me anywhere I go and asking around the story seems to be that she doesn't answer it ever. If you can get to Hapes I can get you to tge house though I can do that for you."
The words came instantly this time "I'm on my way, I am on Dromund Kass right now, an ex sith Master has offered me a ride, I'll get a hold of you when we are close." "Sounds fine to me. Now I must go these social events get awkward if you are absent for very long." The light of the holo faded and the room went back to being a dimly lit room.

Turning back to Xanthus he said "The crusader... Raslekx you called him. I think he lost an arm getting off Korriban, I watched him get it off when some ruble fell and crushed it. Anyway, we should go. Don't want to keep royalty waiting do we?"

Staying out of the way of the hologram, Xanthus simply observed the apparently estranged father and son having their conversation. He was silent and unless the man turned around, he would go unnoticed during the conversation and observe. After the hologram disappeared, the boy turned about and addressed him again. The news that Raslekx lost an arm made Xanthus raise his eyebrows in mild surprise. That sounded rather unfortunate, but at least Raslekx had apparently made it off-world.

"You are most certainly correct. If you have any belongings with you, then I suggest that you retrieve them now."
The man said, effectively ignoring the entire event that had just taken place. "If there's anything heavy, I'll just carry that myself." After a moment, Xanthus would look about in the starship that the two were standing in. He would probably just inform the Order of the starship sitting in their jungle. If they wanted to claim it, then they could fix it up and have at it. Otherwise the ship would likely just remain here until the jungle claimed the thing instead.
