Looking to learn the Basics. Creatively!

I'm looking for some basic Force training for my Padawan, Awande Nombeko. She's never really had any tutelage before, so I'd like to get at least a 101 style starter course out of the way before signing up for anything more advanced. Nothing fancy, nothing flashy, just the literal, boring basics. TK, a Mind Trick or two and some art of movement, stuff like that. No lightsabers, I don't even have one of those yet. (And I plan on being terrible at it when I do haha). If you know any Teras Kasi/ Echani martial arts though, that I'd love to learn.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that any Jedi able to teach has probably done so before, and might not consider it the most dynamic sort of RP. Therefore, if you wanna get creative, sadistic, or maybe just weird, go right ahead. I'm fine with having rocks chucked at my head or getting thrown in jail and being forced to Mind Trick out, that'd probably be more fun for you guys than sitting on a rock and talkin' philosophy. Training from Hell, wax on/wax off style maybe-instruction and improvised Dodgeball style tutelage are more than encouraged, get as creative as you like!

Availability - I'm pretty free whenever; benefit of being a freelancer lol.

If either of you would like, Rane could hold a cram session for the basic Force powers. That would be TK, Force Sense, Force Jump, etc., but no Mind Trick I'm afraid. Rane never learned that one. If you'd both rather have one-on-one sessions that's cool with me too.

Group cram sesh would be my vote, that seems easiest for everyone involved. Makes RP sense too; if every Jedi ever had to have one-on-one for the fundamentals I doubt the Knights would have any free time lol.

My Jade has been apart of the Order since she was 2, if you want I can literally give you and Veloster Turbo a quick Jedi philosophy class and such. This would be a literal "basics" kind of class if your interested and I'd need GABA's permission first. Hmm. Well, to be honest, understanding the Jedi philosophy is something I'm putting off till a bit later with Awande. Just re-read Campbell and a bunch of Channel 101 so I'm doin' the monomyth thing with her: learn some skills, get some arrogance, fail miserably at some task and then realize "Hey, I need to actually understand Jedi stuff beyond how to run and jump and push around rocks." When that happens I'll hit you up though, your char sounds like she'd be good at teaching mine that sort of thing. I suppose Awande could take part in a philosophy thread now, but she'd be fidgety, non-receptive, daydreamey and just an all around terrible student lol. Dunno if that'd make for an interesting thread.

It could, but I understand what you mean, I plan on Jade losing sight of herself, and then reconnecting to her core beliefs on her own. Sort of like her great trial.​

One one one teacher pupil might be hard to make interesting. It'd just be Awande getting distracted while you teach lol, and there's only so many bored/daydream beats I can think of off the top of my head that aren't abysmally cliched. Unless you're pitching some sort of a zany Adult-Swim sitcom with Professor Adam West and Paul Rudd's tray-throwing Wet Hot American Summer character, indifferent student and eager teacher runs out of steam pretty quickly.

Throw some other students in the mix though, that would probably be a fun thread. A teachers pet, an arrogant know it all, maybe the quiet weird kid in the corner and a class clown to bounce distractions off of . . . y'know, your basic classroom character interactions.

Draedan, let it go (don't make me link a Frozen gif). Just Falcon has a plan for Awande like you have a plan for Jade. That plan doesn't include Awande learning that stuff now.

Just Falcon, if you want do a class/social thread sometime, let me know. I have a couple different Padawans to do stuff whenever.
