The End of the Great Hunt
The Great Hunt instilled the fear of the Hutt Cartel in Jedi of all shades. Though it eventually became an exclusive target on the backs of members of the Jedi Order, all who carried a lightsaber learned to think twice before flashing it in public, as thousands were turned in during the duration of the hunt, even after Supreme Mogul Gulla the Hutt was replaced by Svallos after an alliance was stricken with the Sith Empire—then the so-called "Jedi Exiles."
But the Great Hunt officially came to an end when Colimma the Hutt, the successor in overseeing the Hunt after Gulla's death, was usurped and his power base absorbed into the rising power of Nem'ro Besadii Ziir's criminal empire. Without Colimma, Nem'ro decided to focus his attention and credits on other more pressing matters, and thus the Hutt bounty on all lightsabers came to an end. But the Great Hunt's impact would be felt for a long time to come.
With new leadership in the Hutt Cartel under the new Sith-backed Supreme Mogul, two new members of the Hutt Council of Families, and a host of new criminal enterprises taking root in the Cartel, such as Nem'ro's spice and slave empire, the Wook's Crew, the Toasted Twi'lek gang, and Spectre's elite group of slicers, the Hutt Cartel commanded great wealth, power, and fear in the Outer Rim Territories and began to turn their sights towards gathering resources the fastest way possible...
Long Arm of the Hutt
The Council of Families has ordered the invasion of Makeb: a Mid Rim planet located at grid coordinates Q-13. Makeb remains outside the jurisdiction of the Republic and is not far from Hutt Space, but has recently been discovered to play host to large reserves of both Isotope-5 and coaxium. Isotope-5 is a gaseous substance that can be used to powers electronic equipment like datapads, computers, weapons, and even ships. Coaxium is an extremely useful fuel source that can be used to upgrade the hyperdrives of starships. Obtaining both would not only bolster Hutt-superiority, but would also bring in large amounts of revenue to the Cartel.
Therefore, all Hutt Cartel operatives are ordered to Makeb to bring back shipments of these precious resources by means of smuggling or however else they deem necessary. Shipments can be turned into any member of the Hutt Council to curry favor with the various lordas; but, be advised, this means there will be competition for those resources. Skirmishes between rival criminal gangs are likely. Therefore, for the duration of the conflict on Makeb, all threads taking place on Makeb will default to Open/PvP. The IC credit reward, however, will be substantially more than the lightsaber bounty to account for the increased risk.
This mission has also been offered to independent smuggling operations who seek to curry favor with the Hutts, which, again, invites competition. Be also advised that, while Makeb is not part of the Republic, its proximity to Republic space might also garner negative attention from the neighboring government. Shipments can be turned into the Hutt lorda of choice in the corresponding thread in the bounty boards. The price for a shipment turned in by members of the Hutt Cartel is 2 million credits. The price of a shipment turned in by independent, outside sources, is 1 million credits. Happy smuggling.
