DESCRIPTION
The lightfoil is often associated with the sport of jousting and noblemen around the galaxy. In recent years the practice of jousting has fallen a bit out of style, but the lightfoil still remains a great mantle piece/ luxury item. The blade resembles that of the classic lightsaber, but all blades emit a white glow. They are also much more fragile than a true lightsaber in combat. Its lightweight allows for very fast movement, but also for less significant strikes against a combatant. It does have the ability to block a lightsaber, however it is a less effective weapon in almost every sense. Above all else, it is an art piece, its function as a weapon in the age of the blaster is a bit redundant. It can clash with other lightsabers, however the fragility of the weapon makes it easy to overpower. The thinness of the blade also makes it much more difficult to deflect blaster bolts, and even in the off chance you do, the bolt would shake the blade backward. Also, unlike a lightsaber, the very delicate blade cannot be practically used for cutting through materials such as durasteel. The severing of limbs also is a very uncommon occurrence with this weapon, as significant strikes often only result in fairly deep flesh wounds. This item can be used I PVP, although once again the weapon is not very powerful, most other blades would be a better alternativeLEGALITY
Legal. It is observed as an antique and a relic above all else. It would be laughable for a law official to arrest someone for carrying a lightfoil. It is also used in recreational sport around higher-income areas and is widely accepted as perfectly legal.INTENT
I do not intend for this to be a substitute for a lightsaber, I hope that I made it clear that this weapon would not be effective in the same scenarios. I’m creating this weapon for my character, who is attempting to con people into believing he is a Jedi so he can steal their money. Just like his character, I thought it would be nice if he had a weapon that appeared to be strong and powerful, but in reality, was very weak and unstable.
