Amilthi was looking at the door in front of her. It was an entirely unremarkable, ordinary door to the quarters of a Jedi Knight. But her attention wasn't focussed on this banal instrument of spatial separation. Her mind was seeking out the space behind it. She was trying to sense if someone was home, not because it would have been difficult to find out by simply knocking, but just to see what was possible. It turned out that determining the state of occupancy of the room was not. The Padawan gave a slightly disappointed mental shrug. It would, perhaps, come with time. In any case, that was not her principal concern right now.

An appointment with the Knight could of course have been made via the temple's communication systems. But Amilthi felt that appearing in person for the purpose was the least she could do, given that she was probably one of many who sought out this unusual individual's experience. Exal Quresh was know among the Jedi of the temple, and Amilthi wondered if she didn't feel like a curious exhibit at times. On the other hand, Teynara knew her personally and hadn't mentioned that any particular protocol was to be observed. And in any case, it wasn't anyone's fault that this woman had a rather rare stock of first-personal knowledge, the question of why it was so rare being part of Amilthi's reason for being here.

The Padawan raised her hand and knocked.
