The Jedi Library of Ossus. There was no more fitting place in the Galaxy for one to seek information, especially if the information one was pursuing happened to be about a Jedi.

The Cathar known as Kayin Tendaji took short, brisk strides into the entry hall of the grand structure, steadily weaving through the bustling Jedi Hopefuls and Padawans filling the halls, along with various Knights and Masters. It unnerved him, being among so many Jedi, when he knew so little of his own past. For all he knew, he could be walking among those he once called his foe... Or, he could be walking amongst the very same guardians who had taught him in the ways of the Force.

He greatly preferred the latter thought, mostly because it meant he didn't have to fear loss of life and limb.

Tendaji's goal in the Library was straightforward: He wanted to know who he was. He wanted to know why he had the powers he held, why he was in possession of a lightsaber, why he was being pursued by bounty hunters. Maybe, if he knew, he could finally stop running from his past.

He was pleasantly surprised when one of the Jedi Archivists allowed him to use a terminal to search for information pertaining to himself, though it likely helped a great deal that he used the alias 'Kamua Tendaji', and claimed to be his own sibling, in search of his long-lost brother. While lying was not something he enjoyed doing, if it would bring him even a step closer to knowing who and what he once was, it would be worth it.

As Kayin settled into the booth in which the terminal was placed, he couldn't help but glance back over his shoulder once again to make sure no prying eyes were focused upon him. After he was certain that he didn't have anyone's interest, the cathar began his search for information. A cursory search for his own name yielded a list of around fifty individuals, half of whom weren't even in the Order anymore.

It took a few minutes for him to narrow the list down to include only Cathar males, which brought the number of search results down to just one. 'Tendaji, Kayin'.

He clicked on the search result, waited patiently as the information file about himself loaded... Then winced sharply as the screen flashed red, then turned to a blue background with the Jedi Order's emblem in the center, and a small bar just below the emblem informing him that he needed some kind of clearance to view the file.

"What in blazes did I do to prompt the Order to label me as classified information?" Kayin muttered to himself, running one hand through his mane as he stared dejectedly at the screen, at the same time wondering just what he would do now.

The Jedi Master known as Rev Ultor paced rather casually through the library of Ossus. His studies had brought him to look into the connection a Jedi receives upon completion of training with a Padawan. He had long had an attraction to one of his former pupils, and she for him, looking further into it he had hoped to find something that would help the two of them without hurting the Order in any way. As he removed himself from the central hub to which all this data was contained he passed a large, almost lionesque looking creature, a Cathar. He was far from being a racist in the galaxy, but something about this creature, this man by the looks of things, was odd, he looked familiar somehow.

Instead of leaving the library completely he approached a long time friend, and keeper of the Jedi information; Huulo. Giving her a friendly smile he spoke to her in his friendly demeanor as he had always done with the kind woman.

"Greetings Huulo, how're you today?"

"I'm fine Master Jedi, and you?"

"I'm well, let me ask you something Huulo, who is that man... the Cathar?"

It took her a moment to recall the name that was given to her.

"Kamua Tandaji I think he said his name was... why what is it Master Ultor?"

The Jedi Masters left hand crossed his body as his right elbow landed on that arm ever so precisely, using it as a base so his hand could rest on his chin as he went into though.

"Tandaji... Tandaji... that name.. it's as if I have heard it before."

His mind raced at the thought of it, though that first name, it didn't click it did not sound familiar in the least bit.

"Have you seen him before Huulo? I can't say that I've ever met this one before, I can sense the Force has a strong connection with him however though."

"I cannot say I have Master."

Just then the console to their left beeped out a couple of times, indicating a blockage on one of the terminals... the Cathar's terminal.

Kayin stared at the blocked terminal's screen for a few more moments, then with a heavy sigh, the Cathar slid his chair back and rose to his feet. He paused briefly to push the chair back into the terminal's desk, then he turned about and strode towards the Jedi Archivist he had spoke to earlier to gain access to the terminal. Maybe she'd be willing to shed some light on why the file was blocked.

He slowed down for a few moments when he noticed she was speaking to another Jedi, but he decided that was no reason for worry, and so proceeded to move to a spot just a few feet in front of her. "Um, excuse me, miss. Sorry to bother you, again, but I seem to have a little bit of a problem. The file I was looking for, the one about my brother, Kayin, it, uh... It started to load, then it blocked the screen and asked if I had security clearance or something. Do you know if his file was classified, and if it is, could you found out why?" He asked in a soft and polite tone.

As he waited for her response, he glanced at the Jedi she had been speaking to. He looked familiar... Very, very familiar. He swore that he had known that man before, and it was as if his name was at the tip of his tongue... But he just couldn't remember... Hopefully though, the other man didn't recognize him! At least, not until he knew more about himself.

Watching as the Cathar made his way towards the Archivist at his side Rev stared at Huulo. By the time he looked back to see what the Cathar was up to, he was nearly in their faces, his mouth open and ready to speak. Listening to the accent his native tongue forced upon him, it sounded all too familiar, that raspy Cathar voice that still held a solemn peace to it. Then the man said something that for some reason burned itself into the core of his brain.

"Kayin..."

Where was that name familiar, it was a name that reminded him of someone, or something. Was this brother of his a former pupil, perhaps someone he had encountered years before. Reaching into his cloaks pocket he began inputting the name into a datapad that connected to the very library they stood in, searching for that name. In time he would have his own answers.

"I will look into it for you sir."

The Jedi Master gave him a smile and headed towards the Archivist's very own computer, having his own power to access it being a Master in the Order he began to input the name, just in case his datapad didn't beat him to it.

Kayin's attention jumped from the Archivist to the Jedi who had spoken. "Thank you." He said, allowing a small smile to creep over his features as the man headed for the Archivist's computer terminal.

He was just hoping and praying that the file wouldn't include any information on family members [Which, unfortunately for his ruse, it would], as if the Jedi looking into his file were to see such information, his disguise would instantly be rendered useless. If there was one concrete thing he knew about his past, it was that he had no siblings. And needless to say, when it was noted that the profile image for Kayin Tendaji was almost exactly the same as the appearance of his supposed brother, even more red flags would be sent up.

Maotr Krahen walked into the library. It had been a long day, and he needed to relax. As he walked through the corridor, he saw a cathar standing by a computer, while Maotr's master was typing in something. He walked over.
"Hello, Master Ultor. What's going on?" he asked casually.

Rev's fingers were going to work on the console in front of him. Before he knew it he was well into the cathar in front of him's own profile, looking it over quickly, and surprisingly efficient as well. The file blatantly told him how many siblings this Kayin character had, zero. As the Cathar had predicted a red flag would be thrown up right off the bat, the picture was identical. Rev crossed his arms and looked at the Cathar inquisitively then back down to the moniter as if nothing was out of the ordinary, then one of his former pupils approached him. Giving the boy a friendly smile he gave him a bow of respect.

"How are you Maotr? Good I hope."

Ignoring his former Padawans question momentarily he looked to Kayin. Giving the alien that was obviously older than he was, being a young Master within the Order, a crisp nod and smile he spoke to the Cathar.

"Kamua, I have some disturbing news of your twin brother. If you will join me in my quarters I'll be able to explain things better, and in private."

He gave the man a reassuring smile and motioned for him to follow, looking at Maotr the Jedi Master spoke to him telepathically.

"Things are not as they appear my former Pupil, I would like you to escort us to my quarters, stand guard at the door. This stranger appears to be neutral, an almost ally, but his being is clouded to me, much confusion is in him..."

Looking at Kayin he walked with the Cathar male. Leading him to an almost dorm not far from the library they were just in.

"Disturbing news? He's... Not dead, is he?" Kayin asked, as he fell in step behind Master Ultor, a worried frown crossing his muzzle. It wasn't that that he was worried about, but rather, that he had no siblings and so his ruse had been effectively rendered useless.

Still, for better or worse, he could learn who he was simply by following Ultor to a private locale and hearing what he had to say, so he followed silently to the dorm-like area not far from the Library. Kayin waited patiently behind Rev, and would simply stand around until told to go into whatever room it was Master Ultor intended to speak to him in.

Walking into the Jedi Master's dormitory he motioned for the stranger to sit in a seat that fell in front of a desk, much like an office. Walking behind the round desk the Jedi Master took a seat, and with a motion of his hand the door to the room hissed shut behind them and made a series of beeps, locking.

"Kamua, how is it you learned of your brother? The file said you were separated at birth. It is not often a set of twins split at birth in some way learn of one another."

The Jedi Master was playing with this stranger, trying to figure out his true intentions, and if he would be honest with the Order.

Maotr slipped silently to the door, as his former master had told him. keeping alert, he put one hand on his lightsaber, in case anything went wrong.

Kayin settled into the seat across from the desk and placed his hands on the seat's armrests. The cathar's eyes tracked Master Ultor as he took a seat in the chair behind the desk, and his ears perked attentively as the younger male spoke.

A sinking feeling manifested in his stomach as Ultor asked how he came to know of his twin brother, and mentioned that they had been separated at birth. He sighed heavily, then took a deep breath to steady himself. A few moments passed before he had calmed himself down, and reminded himself that this was exactly what he had come looking for. There was no reason to worry... Was there?

"I'm afraid you've caught me, Master Ultor. I am Kayin Tendaji; as far as I know, there is no such individual as Kamua Tendaji." He replied, chuckling tiredly. "I had hoped that it would take longer for anyone to catch on, to give myself time to find out who I was, but I should have realized my alias was transparent at best, especially when said alias was pitted against the Jedi Order."

The Jedi Master nodded, the creature knew when he was beat, and it was good. Digging further into a lie would only hurt himself more as time passed, he'd appear a threat to their Order and sent away, to possibly never know of his past or whatever it was that he seeked out. Relaxing into the chair the man who appeared to have no imperfections on his physical being smiled at Kayin.

"The Jedi Order is not a party you wish to be an enemy of, my friend. Even should you have found out your past documentation of a stranger entering our archives and withdrawing information only to never be seen again is often sent to the Council themselves. You would have been hunted down and possibly killed if your file was detailed, sadly whatever information you seek, seems to have been purged from our documentation."

Taking in a breath he crossed his arms.

"I apologize for this inconvenience, though I do sense something about you, something I'm unaware as to whether you know, you are sensitive to the Force. A degree to which you could be properly trained, though I sense you have been here before, well before my time and trained in the ways of the Jedi. Tell me, what is it you remember? If anything at all that is..."

Kayin sighed and frowned slightly. 'Just as I had feared. My past is gone. Perhaps... Perhaps if I can learn who my master was, get access to his personal files... That might yield results.' The cathar mused.

He was distracted from his thought when Rev mentioned that he sensed that Kayin had been in the Jedi before. "You're right, I was in the Order, though I don't know what events came to pass that saw me separated from the Jedi. What little I remember is that I was brought to the Jedi when I was ten years old, and I spent most of my life in the order. I became a Knight when I was... Twenty-two, I think. Other than that, I'm not really sure about anything else in my life." He replied, producing his lightsaber as he spoke, and levitating the sleek black alloy hilt above his palm, to prove that he was indeed capable of using the Force, and to allow Master Ultor to retrieve and examine the weapon should he desire to do so.

"I honestly wish I knew more about myself, but all I get are bits and pieces here and there. It's hard to piece it all together, Master Ultor. All I know for certain is that six years ago, I woke up from a three-month coma and found myself in a Hospital bed in Coronet City, on Corellia. Someone, perhaps my Master, perhaps a friend, had made sure that a care package with my lightsaber, clothes, creds, and a pistol was given to me when I woke up, and had a ship in storage at the docks. Judging by the note included in the package that advised me to get off Corellia and find somewhere safe to hunker down, then contact whoever had left the package. I don't think he or she anticipated my memory loss, and so I'm probably assumed to be dead now. Anyways, I spent the last six years working as a starship mechanic on Coruscant, and then a few months ago, I had a bunch of bounty hunters kick in my door and toss my apartment while I was out and about. I panicked and left Coruscant, bounced across the Galaxy, and now I'm here, trying to find out why somebody wants to put me in the ground."
