Life Day Tree
Clove had been speechless as she accepted her best friend's gifts in silence. But her expressions told the whole story; she was happy, no, more than happy, on the verge of crying from gratitude. She carefully took both gifts in her arms and clutched them close to her chest, lifting her gaze up to Ruz and Arctus. Her mouth opened to thank them, but she was cut off by another voice.
A girl came running and stepped into the group of people. She overshadowed everyone's presence and rambled on and on about Ruz's new holorecorder in a rude manner. Clove would normally be fine or even try to involve the girl, but the interruption felt harsh, even to her, given the emotions they all felt surrounding their gifts. Clove smiled and took a step back because the girl was clearly just trying to be social, and she didn't want to ruin anyone's Life Day.
"Thank you so much for the gifts, both of you. I'll go ahead and safely store these gifts before heading to the kitchen to see if they require my help. But I'll call you both, okay?" Clove excused herself with a polite smile and a bow of her head before moving towards other gifts she had received today.
Clove happily gathered all of the gifts, carefully stacked them on top of one another, and returned to her dorm. Even if the ending was a little awkward, she was more than satisfied with today.
