Alright i need some help from someone that has had experiance or knows about this kind of thing.

Alright i am a 17 year old male. I was driving down the interstate heading to Florida this summer and i was pulled over for speeding 87 in a 70 right?..Sorry my car is just to fast for this. about a month later i went to court and i pleaded No lo, which i thought that means i am sorry no points are put on your license and your insurance isn't affected but you have to pay your fine. k, so about a month later i get a letter saying your license will be suspended. And i was wondering is there any way to get some type of permit to where i can drive to and from school/work?

Can't help you there, different states have different laws.

He's right about different laws in different states, yet as a 911 dispatcher I can give you a little bit of information. No. 1 since it was 17 miles over the speed limit, that's a misdemeanor citation for speeding and not a city ticket. In other words, it counts as an arrest and not as a city fine. Therefore, I don't think you can get out of having it go onto your records.

Now, if you refuse to appear in court, refuse to pay the fine, have over so many points on your driving record, or disobey restrictions put upon your license after the incident, you can have your license suspended or revoked. Now, instead of suspension they can just restrict your license to drive during certain times of the day. However, that is set by a judge.

Again, you're going on info from someone who works in law enforcement in a different state, so it may be different in FL.

I'm going to have to agree with the Doc on this one. If you are going seventeen over the limit, that's some serious speeding, especially on a 70 road.

Also, I just did the calculations, to anyone not familiar with imperial measuremeants, 87 miles an hour is equal to 140 kilometers an hour, and that's some serious speed. Australian roads have a 120 kph (75 mph) limit, and that's on outback highways with no traffic and no corners in sight.

Call me an ass, but it really is your own fault, so you'll have to deal with the consequences. Even if I knew how to help you out, I wouldn't, because you are trying to get out of it. It doesn't matter if it's just for school or work, it's too bad. Maybe you'll learn to be a responsible driver while you aren't allowed to drive at all.

Despite the bluntness, I have to agree with Matt and Boli here. "My car is just too fast" is not an excuse, because it almost seems like you're blaming the car. Cars don't just go fast by themselves. Also, unless I'm wrong, there is no "I'm sorry" plea where everything just goes away.

On Elvis Presley Boulevard in Memphis, the speed limit is only like 5 mph because of so many cars and the Graceland tour buses going back in forth between Elvis Station, Heartbreak Hotel, and Graceland. I live only like half a mile from Graceland and it takes me twenty-five minutes to get to work if I drive. I could walk, but I need my car to get to school after work.

Yeah, so remember that just because it is given back to you, so you will still have the points on your license and your insurance is going to stay incredibly high.

That works on your history, but Insurance will still hike up their prices more than likely. It isn't a pain unless you're the one footing the bill. Don't expect to pay a low sum on insurance until you are 25...especially as a male...lol.

Woman drivers suck from the time they're 16 to the time they die. Men are just retarded drivers from 16-21ish, but they hike up your insurance after that anyway.

technically I think a " b-1 no contest" ( I could be wrong on the coding) is as close to " Im sorry" as you get, basically it means you know you screwed up, and admit it but at the same time your not admitting or denying anything...

sorta a worthless plead I think but as far as I know thats the closest thing to " Im sorry".. but it wont get you out of trouble in the slightest
