I'm afraid that it is time for me to leave the site in search of a new home. I've loved RPing here for a long time now, but for a while now, this new timline hasn't settled well with me. The Site seems to have adopted a video-gamish feel, which I've found to be more than annoying. I'm certain it wasn't the intention of the Site leaders to adopt this feel of RP, but it seems that people have forgotten entirely that there is actually a story in each thread. Don't get me wrong, I'm far from against PvP, and I have always enjoyed it, but certainly NOT at the expense of a good story.

I do not intend to return, even if changes happen to have been made. My life has been turning into a favorable direction that will naturally take me away from having time to write on a forum style site like this, but if I do find time to do it I will probably either find another site to do it on or simply focus on my own work. There are certain tendencies I've noticed not only in this, but the last timeline as well, which work against a site that is enjoyable to write in.

I'm sorry that I've grown to feel this way about the only RPing site I've ever been on, and I hope I do not find a better place, but still I need to leave.

I'm curious as to why you think the site has become more video game-esque with the new TL. With the way force powers are set up now I kind of felt the opposite. Not trying to stir the shitpot or anything, just curious. You can PM me if you want to.

Sad to see you go tho, Ark was a solid Sith last TL and you were/are a good writer. Wherever your next home might be will do well by your presence.

May the force be with you my wolfy friend.

I have felt the same way about mostly all of your points. But I also tend to stick with a certain group that like to write in the manner I do. If you do feel the tug to gravitate back to writing to kill time, or just get it out of your system as I have, tag me! I don't have the time or energy to write as I had before, but I do still check in often. Your creativity will be missed.

Sounds like rage quite in my book (given that there are others you can very well RP with), but sorry to see you leave nonetheless.

It's certainly easy to get that impression. I think this is a great place to have a good collaborative story with the new rules. Certainly there will be some competition. It's always sad to see good writers go and sorry that maybe I helped contribute to this feeling. The rules here do make it a lot less like a video game this timeline but there will always be arguments when it comes to group projects of any kind like this.

Hope you will reconsider and give it another shot.

Hopefully you will reconsider and stick with the site, you are a great writer and will stick with the group seeing how the site is attempting to stay away from gameish style.

The above post, completely unnecessary. Not sure what kind of impression or shade you're trying to give but grow up. If you don't know him then don't post.

It's a shame to see you go Flam but I understand all your points entirely. Best of luck with all in your future, and try to keep writing regardless of the site.

I'm not going to try and sway you one way or the other. I simply hope this decision is the one you feel suits your needs and desires thr best, and that the turn you talked about your life taking goes well in your favor and finds you where you most want to be and where you feel happiest: here or elsewhere.

@Flamjetxx it was brought to my attention that my initial response was rude and unkind. That was not my intent. As for everyone else, like you, I am a member first. One should think I am permitted to have opinions. That said, I hope you'll stay. Only if you want to.

Cheers.

Sir/Ma'am, if someone wants to leave the site, I won't try to stop them. I'm just saying bye, so such accusations are uncalled for.

If I do come off as rude in this or my last post, know that it is not the intentions. If you still are after reading this, know that I do not care.

Good Day, and Good Day to Flamejet if he is still here.

I too would be interested in a private chat of how you feel the site has become video gamey

I too, have been rather disappointed with the changes this timeline has brought. I'm of the opinion that PvP is the cause of all ill in this world and we'd be better off without it, I don't think that fights lead to a good story (in fact I think they are fucking dreadful to read), intrigue and drama does.

That said, I paid no heed to that and let others who like that kind of thing enjoy it. I've stuck to what I'm good at and what makes me happy and I've had a great time, despite not agreeing with the wider status quo, and lo and behold, I'm now FL of the Sith.

If you are truly creative, the wider structural norm or state of the site will not bother you in the least, because you will be too immersed in your own stories to even notice, as I have been during this timeline and the last, and it's paid off. My two AFLs are hardcore PvPers and I'm more than happy to provide my members with battles and conflict missions, while I stick to storytelling. We all have different styles and tastes on the site, and together we make a great little creatively diverse team.

PvP is a style of writing which requires short, condensed posts which are easy for the opponent to interpret so there's no god-modding or misunderstanding. That is why I dislike it myself, because I have a very visual, flowery style which encompasses massive emphasis on nuances and detail. You need to understand that there is a time and place for giant posts, and PvP isn't it.

So I think you are being rather whiny here, and you would enjoy the site more if you just shrugged off and got over what you don't like, and devote your passion and effort into what you do.
