(This thread is simply a hangout thread based on the small plot of land owned by my character Galaar. This is a Death-Disabled thread.)

1200 Hours

Southern Concord Dawn, Rau Plantation

The day had begun with typical, run-of-the-mill farmwork. Maintaining the Farm's droids was a tedious task, as Harvester Droids often got shucks of corn, and other crops caught between blades, and disrupted the harvest for the day. Luckily, for Galaar, this was a problem he was all too familiar with, aiding his father and grandfather in this, and many others, on this very same plot of land. The work load for the day was smaller compared to most. One of the converted 5U Infantry Droids, used to hand pick Potatoes and Onions needed some work done on it's audioreceptors, and motion sensor, but he would get to that later. After repairing the Harvester droid, he packed up his tools, and stepped out of the workshop section, to a small refrigerator, kept in his garage, and began rifling around for a beer to crack open. Taking a big swig from the can, he walked out through the entrance of the house, to grab his Father's old Cycler Rifle and a case of ammunition, after which, he made his way to a civilian speeder, to take out to his impromptu target range, in the pastures outside his house, and away from the neighboring farm houses.

"Git, go set me up some cans ta shoot," Galaar said, downing the rest of his beer. Git, the small droid chirped in an affirmative response, and zipped down the field, toward the massive backstop made from mud and hay, with spray-painted targets and several dozen half destroyed beer cans and bottles. Git worked quickly to set up targets, for Galaar, before zipping through the air back to him, and chirping a confirmation that his master's targets were set up as requested.

Rayne had only just finished up some work at the Kelborn brewery outside of Shonruss, and was racing in her Redjacket to get back home for a nice mid day nap, seeing as she literally had no responsibilities for the rest of the day, and had planned to kick back a few before heading back to the bed she'd begrudgingly left so early this morning to attend to a decent sized delivery at the brewery.

Since it was her day off, Rayne was only wearing her most comfortable clothes, though she always had her rifle on her, regardless of how menial the task she was going to perform was. The Kelborn clan wasn't very large, and her being an adopted member typically meant she was push into some relatively regular, and tedious work at the Kelborn bar and brewery. She didn't mind it much, it gave her something to do during the less combative days.

She'd picked up a huge seventy pack while she was at the brewery, a benefit of being a Kelborn meant discounted, and often free drinks. In the seat next to hers sat the beer, already ripped open she was enjoying her their beer mid drive when she saw the familiar flash of cycler fire.

More worried that something might be wrong, Rayne slowed down, and came in for a closer look, as there was no return fire coming from any direction it was clear fairly early that this was probably just "one of then country boys" out popping off some rounds at small animals.

She was close..

The property belonged to the Rau family, she knew of them, but didn't directly know any of them personally. Parking the speeder in an open patch, she flung the door open, and slung her light repeater around her shoulder and walked toward the man. She didn't know him, but it looked like he was having the kind of day she had hoped to have today, a lazy one.

With a slight sigh, Rayne squinted at the man, and said in a moderately judgy tone said, "Whatcha doin'?" to his back, waiting for him to turn around, he was armed, she had her repeater, but it wasn't drawn, she was relatively certain it wouldn't matter though, he didn't seem like the type to shoot at a pretty girl who'd just walked up behind him, well not with his cycler anyway..

Galaar had heard the RedJacket by the time it had flown over their property. This was his home, he knew the boundaries, and had picked up on it quickly. He wasn't too bothered by it, assuming they were probably neighbors of his. He'd hoped some folks would show up, so he kept an ear open for such things. Git was down range, having just set up another three targets for Galaar. When she flew closer by, and began landing, he grinned, and stood up, waving the woman over, before turning and firing another shot down range, not aiming for anything in particular, the slug kicking up a patch of dirt, when she walked up to him.

"Whole lotta nothin', darlin', jus' some plinkin' at the moment," he said, turning to the girl, with his firing hand gripping the stock, rather than the grip, noting no intent to fire his weapon, holding the long barrel of the rifle up and away from anything organic, "Mos' folks ride in awn landspeeders though. Where you comin' from?" he asked. He'd not been to Shonruss in awhile. Any time he flew, it was out of the atmosphere and back, on assignments, and trips to Mandalore. He didn't care for the tone, but he wasn't going to take it personally, if she wasn't here starting trouble.

The simple sound of a swoop bike in the distance would catch the ears of both, getting closer and closer with the high pitch call of its engines as it speed across the ground. Coming into view was a young man riding an old and beat up Stormcloud, welded and still holding together with only the slightest or rattles as it slowed and came to a halt away from the two. Its driver was a young man, with a mess of brown hair and some fair features, smiling as he got off the bike and walked over to the two, a pair of blasters on his hips as he did so.

"Well ain't this a surprise. I come 'round to help out with the harvest, all neighborly and such, and find ya out here shooting." The young man, Jak Rau, said as he dusted off his clothes from the ride over. He loved the air against his face as he speed through here, but damned if it didn't kick up a bit of dust doing so. Still, hadn't killed him yet, probably wasn't gonna kill him anytime soon.

His eyes glanced between Galaar and Rayne, raising a brow before smirking and resting a finger on his chin, "New face around here, huh? Always nice to see..." He said with a friendly nod to Rayne before looking to Galaar, "Sorry I couldn't be here sooner. Just finished visiting my folks and sis..." He said, referring to the unmarked grave which held them. The wound still hurt, but he gave a quick cough and a laugh, not wanting to dwell on such thoughts for long.

"So, what're you shootin'? 'Sides the breeze, of course." He said, chuckling to himself a half second later at the bad joke he'd just made. He couldn't help it, it had always been a tick of his, and he figured it'd stay a tick till he was too old or too dead for jokes.

Rayne watched as the man turned around, just a natural warrior habit, she looked down at his hand placement, as she figured, it hadn't been a problem. darlin'? Rayne dwelled on the nickname.

Rayne looked back to her vehicle, it was a little old, and in normal places looked a bit like a tank among the more common versions of land speeders, Ha! that old thing? Ain't she a beaut!? Rayne proclaimed with a full smile as she threw her hand on her hip.

I'm just comin' back from work at the brewery outside Shonruss.. Ya know, Kelborn and all.. its hard being soooooo much better than everyone else aroun' me.. She said with a big smile, and a dramatic draw out of the word so, as she walked over toward the man, and offered him one if the very, very many beers she had, Ya mind if I take a few shots with that thing? She added, pointing at the man's old gun, Ya know, show you how it's really done? She finished, cutely.

A piercing sound filled the air, of an older model swoop bike, mounted by a moderately attractive young man. As he dismounted he offered some excuse about being late, but Rayne thought it was nice, and obvisouly not knowing the man didn't know this family of his was in fact not alive, Its always nice to go back and see the old roots some times, catch up and all.. She said offering the new comer a beer as well.

After the mans last comment, she added, Well he ain't shootin much of nothing.. was about to start showing him how to really use that thing.. Rayne laughed, nudging @Galaar Rau's elbow with a smile.

Galaar laughed at Rayne's jokes about her clan. "Yeah, yeah, you looked like the type," he joked after her quip about how uppity some Kelborn can be, he could only assume. He'd only ever met her, after all. Just then, Jak, one of Galaar's close cousins showed up. He wasn't going to say it out loud, but he'd totally forgotten he'd invited anyone over.

"Oh, yer awright cous', it's just good to see you out of the house with us. Kad rest their souls, we all miss them," he said, as Jak explained, giving Rayne his attention for what she had to say, grinning at her challange.

"It's granddaddy's ol' Cycler though, I'm just lettin' off a few Tusken handloads down on Tattooine a few weeks back. Missy Kelborn over here thinks she can out shoot a Rau," he said, inflecting his voice, to sound more sarcastic in his speech. He turned and fired another round off, at nothing in particular, but ended up blasting a hole through Git's mainframe, as he came up from setting up a slough of targets for them, wrecking his chassis, "Oh, man, Kad-dammit! GIT! WHY YOU FLYIN' DOWN THE DALMN LINE'A'FAR!?" he shouted, as the droid rolled around briefly in the grass.

"Well, hell...," he said, ashamed of having probably killed his droid, "Hope I can save 'is info to a new mainframe." he said, before laughing it off.
