Interviewer:Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to speak with us, Commander. Kylis: (laughter) What busy schedule? I: I would think that helping lead the Rebellion would be far to taxing to allow for this time. K: (laughter) I think you misunderstand what the Rebellion actually does. I:Then enlighten me and my listeners, if you would. K: 
-Silence- K: (laughter) I see that I had you there for a moment. Yes, the Rebellion does take up the vast majority of my time. Rescuing damsels in distress and reminding the galaxy that the Imperium isn't invulnerable is hard work, after all. I: So, Commander, tell me about yourself. Where are you from? How was your childhood? Do you have any romantic interests? K: So you want the whole thing? Fine. I'm originally from Coruscant, though I grew up on Corellia. My father and mother ran a local contract-engineering company, which my brother Svein and I quickly grew into. The four of us worked for years building and testing things for the CEC before the war started. Needless to say, I joined up with the Galactic Alliance Navy and the rest is public record, I think. I: Well, most of it is. There's a big question about what actually happened to you on Manaan. Some say you went in and never came back out. What would you say to that, Commander? K: I'd say this interview is over. |

| [TS-ACTIVITIES] __ FOLLOWING THE RETREAT FROM CORUSCANT, KYLIS AND TWO OTHER CAPTAINS JOINED TOGETHER INTO A SMALL TACTICAL SQUADRON OF HEROIC-CLASS STAR DESTROYERS. THEY FOUGHT AT MULTIPLE SKIRMISHES AND BATTLES AS A SINGLE UNIT CALLED RISENFEL'S HEROES, BUT WERE LATER SEPARATED DURING THE EARLY STAGES OF THE SIEGE OF MANAAN. THE TRIO LATER REGROUPED, AND PERFORMED MULTIPLE HOLDING OPERATIONS JOINTLY WITH GROUND CREWS. THE SHIP CAPTAINS LATER FAKED THE DEATHS OF THEIR SHIPS, ALLOWING THEM TO BE REPAIRED IN THE SECRET UNDERWATER SHIPYARDS. DURING THE FINAL BATTLE WHERE THE MANAAN FLEET ROSE TO THE SURFACE AND ENGAGED THE IMPERIALS, THE THREE HEROICS MOVED OFF TO THE FLANKS TO HOLD-OFF IMPERIAL REINFORCEMENTS. RISENFEL'S HEROES PROVED THEMSELVES THAT DAY AGAINST AN ENTIRE IMPERIAL BATTLE SQUADRON (TWELVE SHIPS). OUTGUNNED TEN-TO-ONE, THE HEROES DUELED THE IMPERIALS FOR NEARLY AN HOUR BEFORE INFAMOUSLY ENGAGING AN ACKBAR SLASH THROUGH THE IMPERIAL LINES. A SINGLE HEROIC WAS LOST, AND KYLIS' FLAGSHIP, THE ETHER HAWK, WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. REINFORCEMENTS FROM MANAAN ARRIVED AFTER, CLEANING UP THE FEW IMPERIAL SHIPS THAT WERE LEFT. RISENFEL'S HEROES LATER SPLIT-UP IN AN ATTEMPT TO BETTER ESCAPE THE IMPERIALS. WHILE KYLIS AND THE ETHER HAWK WENT INTO HIDING, IT IS BELIEVED THAT THE OTHER SURVIVING HEROIC AND ITS CREW JOINED THE SELKATH ON MANAAN IN DEFENDING THEIR NEW HOME. KYLIS LATER BROUGHT THE LIMPING ETHER HAWK AND ITS CREW INTO THE FOLDS OF THE REBELLION AFTER A UNANIMOUS VOTE TO JOIN THE REBELS. |

His mother Jan Hart Risenfel, also a Corellian native, manages the finances of RDE and the Risenfel household. Her family is of distant Mandalorian descent, with her nearest Mandalorian ancestor being a rouge Mandalorian expatriate-turned police officer from around 200+ years ago.
His brother Svein Irun Risenfel was born on Corellia three years before Kylis. He was the person who instilled a passion for technology in his younger brother. Svein is the lead designer of RDE's Non-Weaponry Division.
STRENGTH: His large frame and years of work as a mechanic/engineer has gifted Kylis with impressive strength, capable of lifting a little over twice his own body weight. He constantly exercises to maintain his strength, preferring heavy-gravity chambers to work out in.
DEXTERITY: Trained heavily in hand-to-hand combat techniques, Kylis is quite light on his feet for his size, especially in combat. His years of work as a mechanic have given him some skill at repairing and slicing. Still, his size makes it difficult, but not impossible, to fit into small snub-fighter cockpits, like that of an X-Wing.
CONSTITUTION: While prone to illness as a child, immune system booster treatments have brought him on-par with the rest of humanity. Still, he is only human, capable of being injured like any other.
INTELLIGENCE: While not exactly a scientist, Kylis is a quite skilled engineer and mechanic. His slicing skills are decent, but he is nothing compared to very skilled slicers, like Bothan Commandos. His understanding of ships and their abilities combined with a decent amount of creativity allow him to create quite exemplary tactics in navigation and combat.
WISDOM: While he does learn from his mistakes, Kylis’ age works against him. Most of his experience is centered around his short career as the pilot-captain of the Panther.
CHARISMA: Kylis’ personality has been described as strong and magnetic, with weaker individuals attaching themselves to him regularly. His size has a lot to do with it, but Kylis is eccentric, focused, kind, and respectful in his own way. However, he does tend to be a bit blunt, especially when asked his opinion. Quite handsome, Kylis was hired by Galactic Alliance propoganda units, eventually being used in several short inspirational films (hence his recruitment profile picture above) before being hired by his father as a pilot. -Acting. Some experience. While not professionally trained, Kylis’ time in the GA propaganda holos taught him how to be in control of his emotions and tone of voice. This has helped him when acting on the behalf of his father's company, negotiating contracts, and bluffing at sabaac.

He constantly carries two vibroblades, his modified K8 Heavy Blaster Pistol, and keeps a M15 Blaster Rifle with a flechette launcher under-barrel attachment nearby. He also secretly carries a FWG-5 Flechette Pistol in the small of his back for emergencies. His teachers at the Corellian Military Academy taught him that you can never be too careful.

Kylis has a new R-9 astromech, courteous of a prior contract with Corellian Engineering Corporation, that he’s named Rex. While he’s upgraded the astromech with larger memory, software security and slicing protocols, and a few more engineering modules, Kylis tries his best to not change many of Rex’s core systems to keep the droid’s personality in tact (he worries about screwing-up the droid’s main processor and other core features).
PETS:
Kylis has only one pet, Storini Glass Prowler, a small translucent arthropod, that is kept in a small cage in his quarters. He regularly feeds it small glass-like beads that the creature seems to enjoy. Kylis believes that the Prowler is a fascinating creature, able to survive despite its fragility.

Kylis is a rather imposing individual, and as such, inspires confidence in his friends and allies, and a healthy fear in his opponents. However, he tends to feel small and weak, unfit to lead himself, let alone others. Still, he always seems to find the courage to fight his fear long enough to lead his people to accomplish their goal.
Quite intelligent, Kylis devotes much of his time to working on machinery, which has also made him quite blunt, as eloquence has no place around a faulty fuel line or leaking reactor core. He also tends to overwhelm others with his random tangents pertaining to technology or piloting. His drive for perfection and intense focus sometimes disturb people, but Kylis makes it up by being quite kind and understanding. Needless to say, people around him tend to feel strongly about him, one way or the other. He is incapable of accepting failure, which works for and against him.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born on Coruscant during a trading mission, Kylis Turran Risenfel was an underweight and weak baby. Doctors and nurses alike expected little of him, and prepared his parents for the worst. However, the baby boy survived, and his family took him back to Corellia, their home planet.
Due to his sensitivity to illness and the environment, Kylis was home schooled by his mother with the help of his brother, Svein. At 5, he began to learn how to work on machines with his 8-year-old brother. While punished several times for sneaking into the family workshop, Kylis never gave up his pursuit of technology and knowledge.
Finally, after years of special treatments, Kylis, now 8, was allowed to attend school. His father, Jean, worked tirelessly to fund his two sons’ education in the Corellian Military Academy, a private school taught by ex-Corellian Security and New Republic soldiers and officers, until his sons exemplary marks earned them several scholarships. In fact, Kylis and Svein earned enough extra funding to pool their credits together to buy an old Krayt-class Gunship's wrecked remains.
Kylis excelled in many areas, including hand-to-hand combat and ship navigation, but his best subjects were engineering and squad tactics. His success was tempered by regular reprimands for off-subject work, like fixing a power coupling in Ethics. Still, he progressed as rapidly as his frail body transformed into the epitome of human anatomy.
At 15, Kylis graduated from the Corellian Military Academy, 3 years earlier than usual, following in his brother’s footsteps. The school’s headmaster had contacted the Alliance about the young man, and while he was too young to enlist, propaganda recruiters had a use for him. At first, the young lad was used in recruitment posters, moving on to short commercial holos, until finally landing lead roles in several holo-dramas, like “For the Alliance”, where Kylis was a rebel leader that supported the Galactic Alliance on an evil dictator’s world. He was only 17 at the time, but the addition of a beard and make-up added the depth of age. Ironically, in his later years, Kylis did grow a beard similar to that of his "For the Alliance"-character and cut his hair similar as well, adding to his bravura.

His father, Jean, worked tirelessly to fund his two sons’ education in the Corellian Military Academy, a private school taught by ex-Corellian Security and New Republic soldiers and officers, until his sons exemplary marks earned them several scholarships. In fact, Kylis and Svein earned enough extra funding to pool their credits together to buy an old Krayt-class Gunship's wrecked remains.
Kylis excelled in many areas, including hand-to-hand combat and ship navigation, but his best subjects were engineering and squad tactics. His success was tempered by regular reprimands for off-subject work, like fixing a power coupling in Ethics. Still, he progressed as rapidly as his frail body transformed into the epitome of human anatomy.
At 15, Kylis graduated from the Corellian Military Academy, 3 years earlier than usual, following in his brother’s footsteps. The school’s headmaster had contacted the Alliance about the young man, and while he was too young to enlist, propaganda recruiters had a use for him. At first, the young lad was used in recruitment posters, moving on to short commercial holos, until finally landing lead roles in several holo-dramas, like “For the Alliance”, where Kylis was a rebel leader that supported the Galactic Alliance on an evil dictator’s world. He was only 17 at the time, but the addition of a beard and make-up added the depth of age. Ironically, in his later years, Kylis did grow a beard similar to that of his "For the Alliance"-character and cut his hair similar as well, adding to his bravura.
However, before the Galactic Alliance could actually snag the promising star fully, Kylis dropped out of public view at 18, and joined his father and brother in the family’s shipping business, Risenfel Design & Engineering. Together they negotiated a long-term contract with Corellian Engineering Corporation, working with the large corporation on a myriad of fields of technology. Kylis was specifically asked to design new starship weaponry. His involvement with a new prototype ion cannon design earned him the gratitude of CEC, which included a new droid, a brand-new R-9 unit, which he named Rex.
After a while, his experience in engineering grew to encompass many fields and, like his brother, Kylis was given his own sub-contract from Risenfel Design & Engineering for a new weapons platform. After three years of hard work, Kylis finally unveiled the Risenfel Turbolaser/Ion Cannon Defensive Package, or TBIC. Kylis’ knowledge of the ship’s capabilities aided him, along with the addition of a pilot’s yoke similar to that of a starfighter that could be deployed from the command console or pilot‘s station. With the systems rigged together, Kylis piloted and operated the bow weapons while his brother worked the power and shields. With this new droid interface, Rex, or another astromech, could be given control of several of the ship’s systems, like the weapons or navigations.
Temporary-Captain Risenfel planned for an easy flight into Coruscant. However, once entering the Coruscant system, the ship was attacked by three pirate vessels, a large ancient Rendili Dreadnought called the Pirate Dragon, an original CR-90 Corellian Corvette called the Serpentia, and a run-down Lancer-class frigate called the Jockey's Nightmare, an awful reference to the ship's original purpose as a anti-starfighter frigate. This frigate, however, had many of its quad-laser turrets replaced with single-barrel turbolaser cannons. The dreadnought's captain, a Trandoshan named Vorkussk, stared at the brand-new ship and immediately wanted it for his own. Six TIE fighters streamed out of the Dragon and took a few shots on the unprotected Panther. Kylis ordered that the shields be put up, but only at 10% strength. He also ordered the turbolaser batteries to open fire, but only in single-fire mode very slowly at 10% power as well. He wanted the pirates to think he had faulty weapons. The dreadnought’s turbolaser batteries quickly battered down the corvette’s shields and Vorkussk demanded an immediate surrender. He did not wish to damage his new prize very much; the green, silver, and black paint appealed to him greatly. Kylis complied, dropping the power reactor to near-off levels and powering down the weapons and hyperdrive. Vorkussk smiled and ordered his new ship tractored in so his men could seize the corvette.
Kylis smiled slightly and motioned to his small crew to be ready. He had the ship’s power and defense controls transferred to his station and waited. Just as the dreadnought dropped its shields to dock, Kylis turned all power and shields back to full, the new experimental systems powering back up in record time. The weapons systems were immediately restored and turned to open fire. The TBIC’s let loose a withering barrage in chain-fire-mode, or CFM, turning the dreadnought’s turbolaser cannons that could target them to slag. The Panther's other TBIC's that couldn't fire on the dreadnought opened fire on the frigate. Vorkussk, now thoroughly enraged, ordered his ship’s shields back up, but with the damage already done to his ship, the starboard shield projector failed, allowing the Panther to continue its deadly pounce. Kylis returned the power and defense controls back to their respective stations and had his piloting yoke deployed. He then armed all of his ship's torpedo launchers and fired them at the dreadnought and frigate, which had moved up toward the Panther's port-side. Pushing the corvette’s 11 engines to their max power, Kylis executed a loop around the dreadnought’s stern while putting the ship into a roll, then leveled out into a charge down the larger ship’s spine toward the bow, turbolasers blazing. The Serpentia attempted to turn to fire on the Panther, but the frigate was in her line-of-fire.
Kylis was now in serious trouble. While the dreadnought was quite damaged, the frigate and enemy corvette still boasted a lot of firepower. He suddenly had an idea, a tactic that he'd read about in a naval history book. He piloted his corvette away from the three pirate vessels, in an apparent retreat, then once the pirates turned to follow, he cut the engines and spun the ship on its axis using the repulsors. Now facing his attackers, Kylis pushed the engines back to full-power, charging the center of the three pirate ships. Surprised by the move, but grateful for their apparent good fortune, the three pirate ships opened fire. Kylis pushed all available shield power into the forward shielding as he dove into the pirate formation. Rex had taken over the ship’s weapon systems and scanners, searching for weak points in the enemy corvette’s and frigate’s defenses. The dreadnought, still reeling from the damage inflicted upon it from Panther’s original attack, only half-heartedly attacked, and was low on the threat-scale.
Now passing between the pirate ships, Kylis evened out the corvette’s shielding. His reiteration of the ancient Ackbar-Slash worked perfectly. The frigate’s badly installed turbolaser batteries has difficulty tracking the Panther, always shooting behind the passing ship, and pummeling the Serpentia on the other side. Then, due to the confusion, the Serpentia’s captain, a very paranoid and unstable Quarren, believed the Nightmare had turned on his ship and ordered his own vessel to open fire on the frigate. The Nightmare’s captain, a very paranoid Mon Calamari, came to the same conclusions when the Serpentia turned on them, and opened fire on the frigate. Then Kylis executed his own dramatic flair to the Ackbar Slash, ordering Rex to unleash a second salvo of proton torpedoes, these aiming to port at the frigate and to starboard at the enemy corvette. With the Serpentia and Nightmare shelling each other combined with the Panther’s turbolaser blasts, the torpedoes punched through both pirate vessels’ shields. The Nightmare suffered far more than the Serpentia, though. A torpedo had splashed on the frigate’s bow, right into her command bridge. The Serpentia’s captain, shocked at the damage to his own ship and the Nightmare, returned to firing on the Panther. It was too late though, as the Panther slipped behind the Dragon, and looped back over along the dreadnought’s starboard-side.
With the shield generator already damaged, it wasn’t long before the dreadnought’s shields failed entirely, just as the Panther streaked in a roll by the Dragon’s bow, and now-vulnerable command bridge. Vorkussk looked in horror as the bow laser batteries on the Panther turned down in mid-roll and targeted his bridge as the smaller ship passed overhead. He turned to run to the escape pods but never made it. Several turbolaser blasts ripped through the vulnerable bridge’s transparisteel viewport, exploding along the back bulkheads. Those who didn’t die from the blast were sucked out into the vacuum of space, explosive decompression claiming their lives. The new commander of the frigate, with the original dead, finally gained control of his ship from the secondary bridge and ordered his damaged vessel to jump to the safety of hyperspace. The Serpentia moved to remain on-site, until it saw the dreadnought's hulled bridge, it too turned away and entered hyperspace.
With the vessel now thoroughly defenseless, Kylis had the TBIC’s switch to ion cannons, disabling the Dragon’s engines and hyperdrive. After a few minutes, the battle was over. The corvette used its tractor-beam to haul in several escape pods as Galactic Alliance vessels arrived on scene to arrest the pirates. In a moment of confusion, the Alliance ships threatened to attack the Panther, believing that it was the pirate ship. Kylis hastily explained his ship’s history and transmitted the Panther’s log. The corvette would be escorted along with the captured Dragon in tow all the way to Coruscant to a docking station. Once there, the crew of the Panther arranged for transport back to Corellia while Kylis negotiated his own enlistment and that of the Panther with some Alliance Navy recruiters. He knows that even if he is allowed to command the Panther, he’ll have to train a new crew on her operations, with Rex’s help of course.

Turns out, even with the lower officer rank of midshipman, Kylis was allowed to keep command of the Panther. He was given the temporary rank of Warrant Officer, which is just a high midshipman, and given a crew. They trained for a few weeks before setting out to patrol their assigned sectors. High Command wished the new officer and his ship to gain some experience before being flung into the war with the Sith and their allies.

Battle of Endor: Death Star II Wreckage
-The Battle of Endor rages on. Kylis is sent to Endor to aid in the defense of an old facility built into the wreckage of the Second Death Star. The facility possibly holds sensitive information, and the Chiss will stop at nothing to get to it. The battle is fierce, and many doubt survival is an option. [In Progress]
Before the Storm
-After Kylis' multiple injuries during the battle and escape from Endor, he has undergone extensive surgeries to replace what bacta could not heal. Re-entering duty early, Kylis is tested by High Command in a large training exercise to ascertain if the officer is still able to command and fight. [In Progress]
A Daring Rescue
-Joining forces with Admiral Elysar and a few volunteers, Kylis seeks to rescue some stranded GA soldiers on the Codian Moon before the Chiss can wipe them out. [In progress]
