The mask would hide the smirk as Kav's words rang in his ears. The boy had a temper and that made him the most valuable of weapons. "Focus, young Bir.. Focus." The gauntlet would rest on the table, seemingly unhindered by the growing heat. "Embrace the pain, then use it. Break your chains." The Sith would say.

"We will not free you, boy. You must free yourself." His gaze would shift between both young men. "You must break your chains, for he will not break them for you. You must decide if living is something you desire more than death. Has Bir Vuul lived his story? Or is he ready for a new chapter?"

The fire igniting under the table would not stop unless something made it stop. Kav would keep it lit and burning. The flames would not die due to his decision. He was content to kill this Jedi here and now. Though as an acolyte, he could feel his stamina began to wane. Still, he knew that the Jedi's back and the back of his legs, the skin on the back of his skull, all were getting cooked like a sizzling piece of meat on a hot plate. The Jedi screaming, the pain, the horror going through his enemy's mind, and the pleasure of sadistic action helped to keep Kav's Dark Side energy from going completely bankrupt.

"I...will.....not....free.....you...." Kav managed to growl between clenched teeth. Either the Jedi was going to burst forth with a rush of Dark Side energy to free himself of this torture, or Kav would claim his first Jedi notch on his belt. As if sensing that moment, a moment he had long waited for was imminent, he screamed, putting more energy and focus into the fire. The fire would grow hotter, and the metal table that hovered over the flames began to glow red with heat.

Kav did not want this Jedi to pass the test Kor'Bishal was giving him. He wanted to kill him.

As the pain continued to grow, already well beyond what Bir Vuul could even remotely consider bearable, it would become clear that the back side of his body would be forever scarred from Kav’s endeavor. The Kel Dor’s screams only grew, his desperation along with them, as he forced himself to keep from pleading for his life. His rage and fear, however, began to intertwine. He did not hear the words of either men, his senses instead being dominated by his emotions.

The table, growing hotter with each passing moment, began to glow red with the heat of Kav’s abilities as did the chains binding the Padawan that held him in place. Bir Vuul was no longer in control as he cried out and what could only be described as sheer will to survive, he did not realize that he had begun to reach out around him with the Force. The restraints began to lift from the table, as did his body, as the air pressure of the room began to grow heavy. They then began to shake, weakening from the sheer amount of heat that had been applied to them, before finally snapping.

Dropping back to the searing surface, Bir Vuul cried out in pain once more before rolling off and landing on the dusty floor of the chamber at Kor’Bishal’s feet. As he lay there, writhing in pain, his anger was bolstered. Rolling to his left side and resting on what would have been the arm he lost a year ago, the Kel Dor saw Kav. The man who found far to much pleasure in his pain. Now it was his turn, if he could muster the strength. Still lying on the ground, the Padawan reached out with his right hand and attempted to grasp the man’s neck through the Force, calling on whatever strength it was he had remaining in his burned and broken body.
