Life On Petram Prime

Kieran Shaw was a Force-Sensitive human male from the desert world of Petram Prime who became a Jedi Padawan and a rebel fighter for the Galactic Alliance during the Fires of the Rebellion era. Abandoned at a young age, he quickly learned how to fend for himself by utilizing his mild connection with the Force, an ability he knew nothing about and speculated was unique only to him. Shaw survived for years on the lawless planet through cheating, lying, stealing, and of course, the Force. Through unforeseen circumstances, Shaw would eventually find himself the owner of a stolen Jedi lightsaber, which he vowed he would use as a means to get off of Petram. However, his plans quickly went South when a passing Sith Acolyte witnessed him threatening a customs officer with the weapon of a Jedi. Losing both his left hand and all his remaining credits, Shaw narrowly escaped with his life as he managed to stowaway aboard a departing ship, just outside of the dark sider's grasp. Frightened and alone, he remained a stowaway for several weeks before being tossed off on Glee Anselm, where he hid for the next two years in fear.

Life On Glee Anselm

Shaw remained on Glee Anselm until he was sixteen years old, living in a deserted shack far from any cities or villages. During this time of self-imposed isolation, he would go on to get a prosthetic-android hand to replace the one that he had lost on Petram Prime, practice dueling with his lightsaber, and learn how to play the valachord. Shaw would also later attempt to strengthen his connection in the Force after hearing about its true nature from a Dowutin smuggler, though he achieved little to no success. Throughout his time on the ocean world, Shaw would bare witness to the cruelty and maliciousness of the Old Empire, and though he remained resentful of them, he dared not step out of the shadows again. However, this would prove unavoidable as a small dog-fight broke out between rebel and Imperial soldiers just outside his porch. Witnessing the battle from behind closed blinds, Shaw sat in amazement at the bravery of the men and women fighting for freedom across the galaxy. Upon witnessing the rebel's victory, he made a split-second decision to ask the insurgents if he might be able to enlist, to which he was later allowed.

Life As A Rebel

Shaw's status as a rebel would be short-lived, as only two months into his enlisting, it was discovered by a Jedi Master overseeing the planning for a rebel attack that Shaw was indeed Force-Sensitive. Shaw would then go on to learn as a Jedi Padawan, fighting for the light, and embracing what it truly means to be a Knight.

Personality

Years of living in loneliness and squalor has embittered and disillusioned Kieran with the galaxy around him, he is often cynical and pessimistic about things like hope and faith, often opting to mock such things as a whole. His dry wit and sardonic tone are the things that most people notice first about him. However, somewhere beneath all the pain and anguish, Kieran believes in fighting for a better future, it is this tiny speck of hope that has led him to pursue a life as both a Rebel and a Jedi.

Powers & Equipment

Kieran's smart, he had to be in order to survive the slums of Gartek Spaceport, due to his lack of physical prowess. He's quick to think on his feet and can usually find his way out of a sticky situation if need be, as mentioned with his encounter with the Sith Acolyte that took his hand. He doesn't have too much muscle, mind you, he's spent most of his life emaciated and dehydrated, he isn't incredibly weak, but strength is certainly one of his weakest traits. Though he isn't that gifted in his more spiritual roots either. Kieran's strength in the force is rather weak, all things considered, even if he were to be trained, it would be the area that he lacks the most in. However, due to the conditions he was raised in, Kieran is pretty handy with a blaster, he has a natural talent in this field, and while a little rusty, with a bit of practice he could make a master marksman. On the other hand, Kieran has almost no experience in flying ships, and as such, is fairly terrible at it, perhaps with the right mentor he just might get the hang of it? Currently, Kieran only owns the clothes on his back and his two weapons:
