“My name? My name is....”
Khivas, Khivas Carrick.

“And my rank is...”
Padawan. I’m a Jedi Padawan.

“Tell you my story thus far? Well, alright then...”
Battle Of Naboo: Theed - Completed
In the beginning of Khivas’ tale here on SWRP, Khivas finds himself searching for both the Rebels and the Jedi, and finds them and a whole lot more when he steps outside to find an Imperial Invasion bearing down on him. In this opening, Khivas keeps his cool and from the get go shows his sense of duty, choosing to immediately come to the aid of the people of Theed and to help the Rebels, his objective after so many years finally within his grasp.

Battle Of Naboo: Blood And Fire - Completed
A break off from the main fighting in Theed, Khivas meets up with a small band of resistance fighters and sees his first Jedi in over a decade, the site of which leaves him shock. Thankfully, if one can think of it that way, a Sith Acolyte and an Imperial Troop Platoon shakes off the shock for him quickly, forcing Khivas to fight them off, and in the process make a few new allies.

Battle Of Naboo: Theed Hangar - Stalled
Khivas has fought his way to the Hangars of the Royal Palace, and now he is faced with fighting his first full fledged Sith Assassin. Fighting both her and other Sith in addition to a full on warzone inside of a tightly packed place, Khivas faces dire injuries and dangers, and he himself being forced face to face with the fact that while he’s good with a sword, he has a lot to learn with the Force.

Battle Of Naboo: Bloodied Crossroads - Completed
After the battle in the Hangar, the Rebels managed to escape thanks to some last minute heroics on Khivas’ part, but he ends up separated from his group and wounded as a direct result of it, thus he’s the oddman out in the back of a troop transport with other Rebel Soldiers. When the transport is ambushed, Khivas is forced to help them fight and survive despite the odds being stacked against him, and thanks to the timely intervention of Rane Vastra, Khivas gets to live to see another day, deciding to take the survivors to a Forward Base near the center of the city to help the injured and restock on supplies.

Battle Of Naboo: In These Blackened Skies - Stalled-ish
As Khivas is patched up and the Rebels coordinate their resistance, the young warrior can’t help but look up and fill himself with contempt at the sight of the Star Destroyer. Devising a plan to take it down, Khivas manages to convince the Rebel Leadership to “loan” him a strike team, and together with Rane and Ghost, Khivas leads a strike team to take down the enemy ship. This is complicated slightly however when another group acting on their decide to board the attacking vessel as well, causing mayhem and chaos within the enemy ship.

The Return Of The Jedi - Completed
After the surprising success on Naboo, Khivas formally joins up with the Jedi Order, and his first encounter with them, his idols in a nigh-monolithic sense, was on Arbra, where a new council is announced and Khivas sees the Order for the first time in it’s full splendor: Knights and Padawans and Masters of all sorts, diverse in their ranks and acceptance, leaving Khivas in awe. It is also here after some serious thinking that Khivas decides to take up a master once again, and is taken under the wing of the knight he met on Naboo; Rane Vastra.

The Reunion - Hiatus, Nearly Done However.
After formally becoming a Padawan in both the rank and traditional senses, Khivas aids the local forces in setting up a sort of mini establishment on Arbra, and sends out a message to his oldest friend and ally, fellow Force User Rakkir Shu’Ro, inviting him to the planet and in a less direct way, the Jedi Order. Upon arrival, the two play catch up, and Khivas assures his friend that the Jedi are nothing like the Sith he used to work for, and reaches out to meet with a Jedi Master to get his friend officially inducted into the Jedi, helping him to also hone his skills and fight against the tyranny of the Imperium.

A Jedi's Focus - Ongoing-ish
As Khivas is a Padawan with a Master, it was only natural that Rane give Khivas a formal lesson in a number of things Jedi. In this case, it was an obstacle course tailored to a novice that wasn’t exactly novice, meant to teach Khivas to not only use his gifts, but trust in them and trust in his instincts. Here his Force Speed, Leap, and Sense abilities are all trained, each one being crucial to survive the task given to him.

Stranded - Stalled
In what was meant to be a simple mission to scout an abandoned area, Khivas, along with fellow friend and Padawan Rakkir and Korra, are forced to make a crash landing in their shuttle, resulting in them becoming Stranded on a floating rock in space. Together with the other two, he slowly leads them in fixing what they had left in order to survive, and in keeping with the original, older Jedi Code, remain calm until help arrived.

An Asteroid Too Far - Ongoing
After recovering from the events of Stranded, Khivas joins two other Knights in a new scouting mission. This one also takes place in the same asteroid cluster as the previous mission, but unlike before, instead of having a control malfunction in a shuttle, the trio land on a rock that is clearly inhabited, and after closer inspection, the group of Jedi finds the rock inhabited by pirates, forcing them to fight their way out and clean house to secure the Jedi Outpost nearby. As the situation develops, it turns out there is a schism among the pirates, allowing Khivas and the others to use the mutiny to their advantage, as Khivas heads off in one direction to dismantle their operations, leaving Khelsea and Jake take on the rest of the Pirates.

The Force Has A Sense Of Humor - Hiatus
As the title claims, Khivas and his friend Rakkir find out firsthand that the Force indeed has a sense of humor. As they land on Rishi to refuel and pick up on jobs that involve helping the more downtrodden folk of the planet, the two Jedi overhear a plot to sell a captive Force User to the Imperium. Being the ever present Avengers, Khivas and Rakkir go undercover to save the captive Force User and disrupt the Imperium’s plans.

Clashing Echoes - Stalled
The Sith and Jedi are both invited to an auction of sorts held by a local, small-time Hutt Cartel that managed to get it’s hands on something good. By something good, I of course mean Sentient Beings, and in this case, Force Users. As the Jedi and Rebellion can’t really outbid the damned Imperium, Khivas is tasked with spiriting away the Younglings, only to be intercepted by the Sith’s own version of the “rescuer”. The two do battle, and the results....Well stay tuned, I suppose. Main thing to note here is that Khivas is showing off his ability to fight a duel.

A Meeting In The Woods - Completed
Mystery! Intrigue! Weird messages on datapads and dancing in the hull of a ship! Khivas is tasked with a rather cryptic message and decides to check it out, but not before sending off a warning message to the Jedi Council detailing the message itself and saving a copy of it for his personal records. Upon arrival, he finds multiple Padawans gathered in a central spot, and as one loses control of herself and slowly edges towards giving in to her anxiety, Khivas and a fellow Padawan helps in calming her down, and after a display of some truly weird events, Khivas decides to set out with others and investigate the strange objective left to them.

The Krayt Dragon And The Mynock - Ongoing
A day after the events of Meeting In The Woods, Khivas receives an invitation to attend a sparring session on the same planet he’s currently on, and after a moment of thinking, decides he could use the formal lessons in lightsaber combat, and hits the “Accept” button. Over the next few days before the actual sessions however, Khivas spends his free time training his Force Abilities, and on the day of the lesson itself, heads over to take part and gain some insight from his elders and betters on Lightsaber combat.

A Trade Of Sorts - Completed
Deciding that he needs more training with his Telekinesis still, Khivas seeks out aid from his fellow Padawan Jaleer, as their Force Affinity is greater than his own, and in exchange Khivas will divulge the secrets of his Valor and Persuasion skills, so that he may increase his abilities with his Telekinesis, and possibly learn how to heal using the Force. What results of this is that Jaleer has an idea on what Force Valor is, and Khivas has a similar understanding of Force Healing, and is now much stronger with Telekinesis.

It's A Trap! - Ongoing
Together again on a special and very dangerous mission in Imperial territory, Khivas and his Master, Rane Vastra, along with fellow Jedi Master Kaythous Silver, set off to investigate the strange disappearances of citizens of New Coral City, and end up stumbling across something that neither of the three had ever encountered before in their lives, putting their collective skills to the ultimate test.

Finding Purpose - Completed
After finally getting some damn downtime to relax, Khivas and his unique relationship to the Force just has to go and act up, dropping a young man who happens to be Force Sensitive onto his lap. Brendero Marim was found previously by another Jedi, but subsequently separated and based on sheer Force Instincts alone made it to Arbra and stumbled across Khivas’ path. Khivas, sensing immediately that he is indeed Force Sensitive and very lost and confused, takes him back to the Jedi facility on Arbra to get him checked up on and inducted into the Order, warning, reminding, and teaching Bren the entire trip there just what it means to be a Jedi, and what kind of life it can entail for him, remembering his own past as the words left Khivas’ mouth.

Life On Kothilis - Ongoing
The follow up to Finding Purpose, Khivas and Bren move on to the Jedi Facility on Kothilis, where Khivas decides to at least give Bren some basic weapons and then train him in them, so he'll at least have the basics down when the time comes for the real training and Jedi Life to begin. During their sessions in the training hall, Khivas meets Leah, another Padawan within the order, and together launches a fun little "training" session for all three of them.

Replacements - Completed
While out and about in the wilds of Rodia, Khivas comes across a fellow Padawan, Cotan Sar'andor, building himself a new Lightsaber, and decides to sit down in front of him to watch the process, partly as a hobby, and partly to help his fellow Padawan complete the process should he need the aid. After the construction of the weapon is complete, Khivas and Cotan have a lovely sparring match, where Khivas picks up on the basics and some footwork of Form II, Makashi, and even learns how to use Force Barrier from him.

A Late Lunch - lolOngoing
Even Jedi need a break, and that's exactly what this thread is all about. After performing some much needed mechanical work and a rotating turret install on his ship, Khivas catches wind of a Beach Party, and decides to attend to have a decent, fresh meal and to relax a little for once.

Jedi Code, 101 - Completed
After some time, Khivas decides to head aboard a Jedi Frigate to see what it's like and help serve, and also break the mood he falls in to while going through all the stuff he's been doing in the past few months. During this time, he gets an invite for a class on the Jedi Code, and decides to attend, both for his amusement and his education. As it turns out however, it seems Khivas can even surprise himself with his ability to speak out, and as it would seem, he's more of a Jedi according to the Code than he thought.

Alban Achaeology - Ongoing
Finally together on the mission given to them, Khivas and a handful of the padawans originally present on Rodia set off for the Ice Caps of Alba alongside the archaeology team dispatched to that region of the planet to investigate whatever it is the Strange Messenger sent them to see, or protect the team doing the digging as of course the message was not exactly clear, and events are only just now beginning to unfold.....

The Knight, The Fool, And The Mastermind
Khivas is asked to go rescue a Padawan that has been kidnapped by Pirates for reasons unknown, and accepts the mission, embarking on a solo run to rescue his fellow Jedi. Needless to say, things will not be as expected for the Jedi Swashbuckler.

“A few questions to ask you......”

“Does Your Character Uphold The Jedi Code?”
I believe Khivas upholds the Jedi Code as best he can. He may not have the most orthodox view on how to live and abide by the code, but he understands it, and knows full well that while he could do better to actually follow it as a warrior monk, he still upholds every single aspect of it. He doesn’t act on his emotions but rather thinks things through (despite the temper), he actively prefers logic in his decision making, even the bad ones, constantly fights against his own passions in attempts to control them, know attachments can be his downfall, and he doesn’t fear death, despite his own guilt at the deaths of others. For him it’s not dying that bothers him, it’s dying in an untimely manner that upsets him. It’s why he’s forcing himself back on the frontlines against the Imperium; to preserve somebody else’s tomorrow.

“Is Your Padawan Proficient In The Discipline Of The Lightsaber?”
Are Sith evil? The answer is obviously yes, but sarcasm aside, being able to fight with a lightsaber is Khivas’ bread and butter. He was such a natural with the weapon that with only a few training sessions with his previous master, Khivas was able to pick up and finish off the training himself, even tweaking the styling of Form V to suit his particular needs in combat. As of now, he's actually splicing the mentalities, movements, and katas of Form V, II, and III to create his own unique form of Lightsaber combat. Stay tuned.

“Is Your Padawan Trained In The Basic Usage Of Force Powers?”
While he’s still far from being the best at using the Force as an exact tool, Khivas has trained himself in the field on how to better use his abilities, and with some rather....interesting training with Master Vastra, Khivas has become better versed in the use of utilizing the Force. Additionally, studying up on the Jedi Archives in his down time with other padawans has given Khivas new insight on the Force and it’s use as a tool. Because of this, while he needs further training still (making up for his shortcomings using his armor), Khivas can now use the basics such as Telekinesis, Force Sense, and The Art Of Movement with ease now, he can even heal minor wounds, summon barriers, and warm himself and the air around him, thanks to fellow Padawans helping him, and is studying to learn more skills and completely master the old.

“Does Your Padawan Understand The Force? The Light and Dark Of It? How Actions Taken Can Lead To One Or The Other?”
Despite the fact that many see Khivas as unorthodox, inexperienced, or simply a loose cannon that probably needs to not be a Jedi, he actually knows full and well the nature of the Force. It was early on that he was introduced to the concept that there is a Light and Dark side to the Force, that they are the two sides of the same coin, but you can choose which side to have facing up. Good actions tend to serve the Light, sacrificing oneself for the greater good of the bigger picture, helping those who cannot help themselves, and standing up for what’s right are the actions of Jedi, Jedi who stand in the basking glow of the Lightside. Acts of aggression, unnecessary violence, letting your inner turmoil boil over and cause turmoil for innocents, things of that nature, clearly evil. For Khivas, the ability to distinguish between the two came naturally, knowing what was right and what wasn’t from an early age, and thankfully he was found by a Jedi and trained to always fight for what’s right.

One cannot destroy the darkness, but one can always seek, strike, and live to fight against it, in all forms, be it both their thoughts and feelings, and their actions. Khivas is many things, but a bad guy he is not, and the events of each thread he has been in show that to be true.

Added in a new thread since it just recently began, sorry.

Also if you're reading this and going "Man, does he have every thread linked, wth?", that would be because I do, and the reason for that is because each thread, however minor or great is important to Khivas in some way, each one a strand of thread in the quilt that is his story.

"Man, does he have every thread linked, wth?"

Actually, listing every thread on the character's profile and thereby listing it is kind of the norm here. From what I've seen everyone does it.

No worries, didn't intend for that to sound accusatory or questioning. Simply wanted to let you know that no one would judge you on listing all those threads as it's more than acceptable to do that here. :)

Yosh, and since I got invited to two more threads, I decided to link one of them, especially since it pertains to the Jedi Code itself. The other is just a neat session of watching another dude build a lightsaber.

Good afternoon, @Khivas!

We greatly appreciate such a thorough review. It made our lives and our review a lot easier.

You have been doing a great job with Khivas, and your stories were fun and interesting to read. I think you knew our main concern would be in completed threads, and your statement was a nice gesture towards that. Character interactions in "abandoned" or "not completed" threads still have value. You can still learn things and complete missions, but it can hurt character development (for those still in them - i.e., you). Completing threads once someone goes AWOL is also tricky, and we understand that because it happens to us all the time as well.

Considering all of that, I agree that Khivas is very nearly ready to be a Knight. But not quite yet. Four of your five completed threads are BoN, and we'd like to see some of the others completed before we promote him to Knight. It helps paint a more full picture of your character. To help you out and give you an approximate goal, you can let me know when you have completed about half a dozen of your started threads with three or fewer writers. Then tag me, and I will review this application again, and you can supply me with any updates you feel might be applicable.

Let me know if you have any concerns or questions.

Cheers,
TAC

Ok maybe not as easy as I thought.

@TAC, if somebody has stopped posting in a thread when it was their turn, how exactly do I proceed with that, especially since they seemingly disappeared and won't answer any PMs?

I mean if it's possible I could finish them off with a quick and good ending, but if not, I'd really rather not start up more threads when I'm trying to obtain Knighthood and the big thing counting against me atm are unfinished threads XD But I will if I must

*eyes tear up proudly*
