Kalo sighed as he stretched his hands behind his head and ly on his bed. He had just recently been moved to this station, and already had received a master. He hadn't confronted his master yet, so he didn't even know his name. All he knew was that he was suppose to be in the training room in 10 minutes or so. Kalo closed his eyes dreaming of days of glory. He saw himself leading a massived army of Jedi against the Sith. He smiled. He had these dreams since he was a young boy, learning from his grandpa.

"I wish grandpa was still in the order then he could be my master. Who is my master anyways? Probably some stuck-up, cocky young Jedi Knight right?" Kalo began to talk to himself, because the boy in the bed across the room didn't really care to talk to Kalo. He decided this place was alright, but there was no one to talk to at all, except fellow Jedi. He didn't understand why the Jedi had to be kept hidden. "Yes I do you idiot. The Sith will kill us if we aren't." Suddenly Kalo rolled over, only to realized he was going to be later.

Kalo sprang from his bed and bolted out the door. He swerved this way and that way through the halls, in a mad dash to get to the training room before his master. He slid to a halt at the door, and caught his breath. He only wanted to look on his best behavior as he entered if his master had actaully arrived yet. Kalo stood tall, and slowly strolled in the room as the door swung open before him.

"Good nobody is here yet. Guess I should practice something while I wait." Kalo made his way to the center of the room, studying everything. It wasn't much, but he didn't care it was good enough. He decided to practice hand-to-hand combat. His hands moved swiftly, cutting through the air, and returning to his chest. He even got a good kick in every now and then. He moved his fist faster, acting as if he was in a brutal battle with a Sith.

*It had been long since he had uttered a word or made contact with another since his seclusion. The aura of Kyle Stellar that should have been there was not. As if he had intended to practice the art of invisibility, the Jedi was silent and watchful of his new Padawan in the darkness of the wall's shadow. Already sitting in the lotus position with his eyes closed, all of his senses were cut off from the word except for his sense of smell and hearing.

Seeing through the Force was an amazing thing as he combined his insight of the Force to see the world only through the Force at this moment. The boy's technique was choppy, slow, yet strong. He would have to teach him how to make things smooth and quick. Strength was the ideal of a fascist, but Jedi weren't fascists, they were pacifists. Through peaceful means would a peaceful place the universe would be if everyone agreed to it.

It had only been 2 minutes, but Kyle believed it was time to introduce himself and get on with today's lesson. Unfolding his legs in a silent manner, he stood up, making no sound and he walked across the room to the center to meet this boy. Although he wore the usual Jedi boots, these shoes's soles were very thin and did not make much of a sound as it touched the floor. Eyes opening when he was 5 feet away, earthy brown eyes stared down upon the boy, but not with hate, yet a cold look along with an awkward silence that usually would have told a soldier where his place was in the army.*

"Greetings. My name is Kyle Stellar."

*Short and simple, yet these words were the way Kyle liked to live life; frugally. Then, he bowed low, almost forgetting the old Jedi traditions. Things were already slipping out of his mind before they had started.*

Kalos fists only penetrated the air before him for 2 minutes, before the figure appeared from the shadows of the wall. Why hadn't I noticed that? Kalo thought to himself, as his new master slowly approached the center of the room. Kalo observed the man, studying his clothing, his hair, his eyes. He didn't know why he did such things, but he just did them naturally. As he awaited to speak to the man, he stood still, his arms at his side.

What seemed like an awkard silence rolled on forever. No it wasn't forever, but Kalos impatience made it seem like that. He brushed some of his hair out of his fierce blue eyes, remembering he needed to get it cut soon. The man stood before him and introduced himself, greeting Kalo. "And I'm Kalo Visor," Kalo said with pride as he bowed before the man. He never thought he would bow before a Jedi Master, but now he had. "I'm honored to be your padawan Master Stellar."

"Kalo Visor..."

*That last name seemed familiar, but it didn't matter too much. This one actually fell into the stereotypical category of Padawans. Eager and impatient. Such insolence could never be dealt with, but they all did learn sooner or later. Those blue eyes seemed to dart everywhere, and Kyle knew that Kalo was an observant one now, but he needed to do it more discretely. The one major difference was the boy's pride. It was written all over his face. Jedi did not usually show pride, but humility. Time to precede to his usual lesson plan; philosophy, conduct, and the Jedi code. Kyle liked to throw other things in there, but those three were always the main three. Just like tradition had been passed down from generation to generation. Some things never do change.*

"There isn't a need to call me Master Kalo. Just call me Kyle. These ranks don't mean anything. I'm just here to be your guide. Now, first question of the day. What is the Force?"

"Alright Master....I mean Kyle." Kalo answered when Kyle told him not to call him Master. "The Force is what gives jedi and Sith their power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It binds the galaxy together." Kalo uttered as his master asked his first question. Kalo thought his training would be quite easy if he was asked these kinds of questions. His grandpa had educated him alot about the Jedi Code and the Force. Kalo tried to conceal his eagerness and impatience, as he didn't want to look foolish before Kyle.

"Not power Kalo. Abilities. Power is what everyone yearns for, but it is misleading. Only through our abilities and judgement do we gain respect in this world. Power is just a word, but it means nothing. The Force does not give a Jedi their prestige or respect. We work for it. However, we must choose the right decision. However, the rest of your answer is valid. But, anyone can memorize a text book Kalo. Can you truely see what they mean by it? Do you understand what it means to by being bound to the Force and being able to use it?"

*This one was either an intelligent bookworm or more or less talented. He came prepared, so that was a good quality to have. What else could he learn from Kalo and what would he need to teach him? This use of the word "power" however would lead Kalo to the Dark Side of the Force, but not if Kyle could help it.*

"Yes Kyle, I believe I understand about what you said about power. I know that I shouldn't have a lust for power as well. I also...think I know about what being bound to the force is. May I ask you to explain to me? I want to see if my idea on it is correct." Kalo asked as he stared at Kyle. Kalo knew that all his studying was for nothing. Kyle would explain everything to him, so Kalo wouln't just be the bookworm.

"Well, being bound to the Force just means that everything flows through the Force. It has been proven, but some just choose not to use it, or they are exceptional by hiding their connection to the Force. Think of it this way. The Force is a flowing river through the universe that branches off into everyone. The thing is, is that sometimes the river flows more strongly in one branch than the other. Those few unique branches are Force Sensitive people, or in layman's terms, us.

Because the Force flows stronger with these unique people, they are enabled to tap into the Force and use it to their will. That in turn brings us to the next topic; the Light and Dark Side of the Force. But before we go there, do you understand what the Force is and how you are bound to it? If you don't, I can try to explain further. Remember, don't be afraid to ask questions. No one always has a full understanding of the Force because it is one of those topics that are developed by each one of us. But there are bare basics that are there. Do you understand them?"

*Kyle was impressed though. He did ask questions, and was patient at times, but...this eagerness and impatience he saw earlier...what made Kalo tick? And would Kyle want him to become pissed?*

"Yes, I understand it now, or so I believe," Kalo said in a confident tone. He thought the Light and Dark side topic would prove to be an interesting one, and he prepared himself to show his master he was devoted to the Jedi Order and would trust their greater knowledge. Most of his new padawan friends had betted him the first to fall to the Dark Side, because he was eager and impatient, but Kalo had told himself time and time again that he wouldn't let the Dark Side beckon him to join with their power. No he decided to ignore all the bets, and find away to conquer over and destroy his eagerness and impatience with his master.

*Kyle looked at this boy with a cold and uninterested face. The boy was not confident...he could barely feel it. There was no "believe" in this world...only yes and no. Running his fingers through his straight hair, it felt like he was getting somewhere, but nowhere near he needed to be. Only time could tell...*

"There is only 'Yes, I understand.', and 'No, I don't understand.'. If you 'think you know it', then you don't know it at all. You must be confident and be sure of yourself at all times Kalo. It is the difference between a Jedi that will always follow through with his goals and plans, and one who doesn't. You can't be flaky on this subject, even though everyone thinks otherwise. So, do you understand it? If so, explain it to me with your own words."

*That should nail the first topic into Kalo's mind as well as broaden his views of the Force. If he did answer it well, then they might be making some ground as well as Kyle not blowing his patience off.*

"Yes I understand. Being bound to the Force means that the Force flows through you. It flows through everything in the Galaxy whether it be a citizen, an animal, or a Jedi. The Force sensitives just have a stronger connection to the Force then anyone else. Is that the answer you require, or would you like me to go more in depth." Kalo felt his master would shape him into a great Jedi, but he had realized he shouldn't dream for such powers and greatness.

"Anyone could've said that. That was near textbook answer there Kalo. I need an answer from your mind and heart my boy."

*Hopefully that would also make Kalo keep thinking. Good mind exercises would help this boy grow.*

Kalo focused. He didn't want to fail his master, but he couldn't think up an answer. From the heart, he kept thinking. "The force is precious. It is life. Because it flows through us, it is a part of us I believe. Because it is a part of us, it is life. The Force Sensitive just know how to channel it and use it strongly. Look at the force like a tall tree. The Force is the trunk, and then we are the branches. The lower ones are small, thin and less important. Those ones aren't too Force Sensitive. The top ones are larger and thicker and more important." Kalo hoped this was the answer Kyle seeked. Originally Kalo thought of speaking about the river theme, but Kyle had already used it so Kalo told of his own idea.

*Kyle smiled. It seems as though Kalo was catching on, but he still didn't understand. It was alright though. He did get the basics down.*

"They are all important. Each branch can tap into the Force, except those who are the bigger branches just have it easier. All beings in this universe can become a Jedi, but their abilities with connecting to the Force are just dormant. However, it is also harder for them to use it as well. It seems that you're understanding the bare basics, which is good.

Moving to our next topic, the Force is viewed differently, saying that there is a Light Side and Dark Side. Can you explain it to me?"

"The Jedi, or Light Side users, used the Force for good, healing, and wisdom, unlike the sith. The Light Side of the force is also only used for abilities that are defensive and passie. Jedi are kind, honest, and trustworthy, and look to help the Galaxy. They don't use the Force to gain Power like the Sith. The Sith think of the force as a tool and use it for power and to gain control of the galaxy. They draw power from raw emotions. The Sith are corrupt and have a lust for power."

"Good. That's one way to look at it. But I'd like to think of it as this. Rather than what powers are used to help others, but what is done to help others. Just because one uses Force Lightning means he's a bad guy. I've looked back at old records and seen what some of those Jedi Masters were capable of. One man named Jedi Master Duncan literally brung a man back to life using Force Lightning. It was one of those things that you couldn't believe what you read.

However, it was true. Looking even further through the Archives, I found that the man he brought back to life lived for another 20 years before dying of old age. Now, Jedi Master Duncan wasn't evil, but what you've said that using only powers to judge what's good and bad isn't true. But, Jedi Master Duncan went rogue and then turned to a Sith Lord later. But you do understand my point correct? It is not what one uses that is deemed good or bad, it is what he does to make it happen. However, it always relies on judgement.

That was a view of the Unifying Force, which means that there is no good or bad side, but just one Force in general. However, I know there is a good and a bad, but it's just the way you deal with it and look at it. The Light Side does pertain to using passive skills to help others, and the Dark Side does more of aggressive powers and does have several killings within it, but it's all how you look at it. Do you understand? If so, explain it to me."

*Kyle was amazed at what just ran through his mouth. It had been 2 years since he ever lectured, and it was one of those things you never knew that you had it, but it just naturally came out.*
