BIOGRAPHY

LOWPA
Where the trees meet the ocean; that’s where the pup known in his youth as Lowpa whiled away the time in learning from tribal elders, happiest in the shade of the trees that began at the very edge of the great forest. Lowpa’s tribe was lucky; they threat of monsters from the Shadowlands did not trouble them as it did other Wookiees. They would sleep in the tops of the mighty wroshyr trees that marked the end of the coast, climbing down by day to man boats and harvest the land in peace.

He had been a curious youth, with a white streak of fur crossing his face that creased whenever he furled his brow in contemplation or concentration. Lowpa had a mind for every pursuit; he eagerly learned the history of the tribe and of the other peoples of Kashyyyk, other Wookiee tribes. He studied the trades of his people and showed aptitude at manning the small coastal boats like his mother and father operated, but also how to harvest fish from the sea and animals from the land. His teachers were proud of his ability to use tools and identify and differentiate between edible, useful and poisonous flora.

As he grew older and the pups were pitted against each other to hone skill in dealing with the vicious beasts that would predate upon an unsuspecting young Wookiee alone, Lowpa and the ones charged with teaching him noticed he was a ferocious adept at fighting. As he rose above the others, the young Wookiee developed a streak of pride; humility was one of the virtues his tribe held dear and while he paid lip service to it, the seed of entitlement and arrogance sprouted in Lowpa’s heart. His demeanor didn’t change – much. He helped his peers and served the elders faithfully, but he began to yearn for leadership and command, taking risks to prove himself.

LOFARRA
The Rite of Passage was an important event for a young Wookiee and Lowpa dove into it; literally, in the case of his tribe. In addition to survival in the Shadowlands, Lowpa’s tribe demanded its youth dive deep and find a special pearl from the midden of a monstrous shellfish. Newly thirteen at the time, the nearly full grown Wookiee, taller than most alien visitors to the forest world, wrestled a pearl from one of the larger beasts in memory, producing a gem half the size of his clenched fist and winning him the respect of those in his tribe and a new name, as was the tribe’s custom: Lofarra.

As his metaphorical star rose, so did Lofarra’s taste for glory. He dove the deepest and could climb with the cruel claws of his people to new heights. He spent more time enamored by the dim, dense wood of the forest floor, away from the familiar coast, where reports said there were specters that captured the unwary and the unprepared, never to be seen by their tribes again. Lofarra held little regard for the elders’ superstitions. There was an explanation for it, he just knew it, but he was not prepared for it.

In his sixteenth year, Lofarra set off on an expedition to the forest floor, several kilometers from the breaking of the forest and the interlinked platforms that rang with the symphony of the sea, crashing waves on the rocky shore, spraying water in the air and the scent of the ocean into the treetops. There, in the dim quiet, the inquisitive predator became prey. Strange tracks led him to a defiled corpse, which sprang a trap of electrical charge that coursed through his body and rendered him unconscious and inert. Ghosts, however, were not the culprit.

There were tales of many types of warriors from the sky, including those who wielded mystical powers beyond the possible. There were other warriors as well, fearsome hunters who did not kill, but who captured. These hunters were not Wookiees whatsoever; they were perhaps as powerful but covered in scales. They spoke no language in common to Lofarra, but the young one would learn that most beings called these hateful creatures Trandoshans, vile hunters of beast and beings who would sell thinking creatures to act as living tools. And for his hubris, this was Lofarra’s fate.

SLAVE
The peaceful, sublime fusion of wood and wonder that was his home fell away as he entered a prison of iron and smoke; the bars of Lofarra’s cage dug into him as he awoke, every which way he stretched his body touching the bars. He cried out and was treated to painful electricity shooting through him, making him jump in the cramped space. A terse voice spoke in the Wookiee trade dialect, telling him to be silent even as pain was apparent in the speaker. The compartment was stuffed with other Wookies, the smell of fear and rage apparent on males and females, crammed into small spaces that undoubtedly delivered an electric shock at the whim of those reptilian devils.

Days passed, mostly in silence. After his first outburst, Lofarra decided to keep his mouth shut, even as anger and anxiety looped in on his conscious. For all his talent, one mistake in a chain of mistakes had rendered him property. The ship shuddered as it translated into hyperspace, and his family and clan were left light-years behind.

They were taken to a remote asteroid and forced into conditions that were almost the exact opposite of the lush and verdant homeworld from which they were harvested. Each captured Wookiee was fitted with a slave device in their neck and brought before a bedraggled and under-maintenanced protocol droid that translated the words of a squat, bald human and told them of their new life: mining precious metals from the interior of the asteroid to which they had been brought. It was cheaper to use them rather than droids because of high electrical field density on the interior of the planetoid; the devices at their necks would render electrical stimulation to keep compliance.

Lofarra and the others soon discovered that “cost efficiency” extended to every sector of their new life. The air inside the mining tunnels and the facility that they slept in was kept at minimal levels, just enough to breathe. The food, such as it was, consisted of thin gruel that never fully sated the appetite and the water they were given was oily and never seemed to slake one’s thirst. Their dormitory was heavily shielded and staffed with mechanical slaves of the very lowest quality. Even the chosen slave masters were cheap; they were imported to guard the Wookiees, engaging the electrical devices whenever one got out of line…or whenever they felt like it.

As months and then years passed, the Wookiee's hatred begin to bubble within him, but instead of lashing out in violence, a plan took shape. Instead of raging against their bondage like many of the younger males did, Lofarra doubled down in labor. His quotas were shattered in the face of productivity as he worked himself to exhaustion. Day in and day out for what amount to many months. The other prisoners began to resent him as he received some measure of preferential treatment. Resentment descended into anger when he suggested to the boss that oxygen levels be reduced further in the mining chambers to improve the efficiency of equipment and reduce expenditure on letting the Wookiees breathe. And when Lofarra’s shifts started to be moved inside, they risked electrical stimulation to harass the clever young Wookiee, who divulged his plan.

The boss, Elin Vultura, was so thrifty that he did not restrict holonet access to the terminals inside the less secure portion of the facility and was so short-sighted that he did believe a Wookiee slave could learn Basic. Perhaps he underestimated both his species and Lofarra himself, but he began to learn all about the structure of droid programming and electrical physics to find a way to disable the slave compliance devices and set them all free. As he read more and more on private channels for dubiously legal activities, the hatred he felt for Vultura and his slave masters began to spread to corners of the galaxy he had only dreamed of, his disdain jading him as he prepared their escape. Slavery, war and hunger had run rampant through this supposed galactic “civilization.” He learned just enough about piloting practices that, in theory, he could work a spacecraft upon their escape.

Over time, Lofarra’s plan coalesced around the medical center. He spent as much time as he could when not directly working to devise the code to fool the Vulture, as they called him. Lofarra came go him with a falsified holosite that claimed there was a radiation treatment that could improve lung capacity and push the arduous shifts of the mining chattel further. The prospect delighted the little human and Lofarra was tasked with implementing the regimen. What the Vulture did not know was that Lofarra had devised the medical droid program himself. It delivered a localized x-ray pulse, disabling the compliance devices on the sly. The trap was set, and they had but to spring it and hunt those that had hunted them.

With everything in place, during a change from the third shift to the first, with the majority of the Wookiees inside the dormitory facility, their rebellion began. With a roar, Lofarra lead his people against grunting Gamorreans, subduing them with bare hands. His passions riding high, Lofarra gave into his rage at the galaxy that allowed so many people to suffer and against his conscious mind, the ancestral claws of the young Wookiee leader were brought to bear against his captors, both horrifying many of the others and engendering a similar abandonment of compunction among some of the more rebellious Wookiees.

The rebellion of the enslaved Wookiee miners was nasty, brutish and short. All of their objectives had been met, meaning the slaves were free to make their way home.

Except Lofarra.

In the day that followed, due to his display of savagery, the Wookiees on the whole would not permit him to accompany them back to Kashyyyk. It was not a true exile, but they did not know what to make of the hero of their rebellion turning to madness to accomplish their goals. The decision weighed heavily on them and Lofarra brooded haughtily as they loaded one of the slaving freighters with freed Wookiees. One of the light freighters was prepared and left for him. In the tomb of so many monsters, Lofarra contemplated. No doubt tales of his exploits would reach the homeworld. He could not face his tribe with the knowledge of two heavy shames upon him, so he would go out into the wretched galaxy and wrest something from it.

Astrographically, the mine was close to many worlds he’d seen on the holonet. They were ruled by a coalition of gangsters and were mired in the kind of moral sickness that persisted throughout the galaxy. Turpitude and dissolution were true forces to be reckoned with, and the Wookiee’s first stop was a hive of villains with two suns, the blasted desert planet of Tatooine. As he spun up the engines and began to depart, he had one last bit of business on the asteroid. He retrieved the deactivated protocol droid and took it with him.

KALLADRRL
Much to his relief, some landing pads were run by unscrupulous managers who accepted an inflated fee to dock on the down-low. Upon landing, he sold the freighter to pay for the fees and to give him some seed money on the desert planet, money that allowed him to live...and listen. He did away with his old name; he had been called wild and mad by the last Wookiees he saw and introduced himself under the twin suns as “Wild Sky” -- Kalladrrl. The Wookiee sought out contract work as muscle, collecting on debts and collecting information. He took on contracts of all sorts, preferring to leverage his ambitious mind in intellectual tasks like slicing and breaking into places he wasn’t supposed to be and scaring the hell out of whoever was in there. Sneaking around wasn’t the style for someone over a meter taller than most beings, but he cultivated contacts and further leadership as he worked, making connections with suppliers of exotic materials, toughs, technical experts and other nefarious individuals.

PERSONALITY

Above all, Kalladrrl always wanted respect; he was willing to put his talents to use for the good of everyone and whenever he fell short, his pride stung him, until that sting became familiar; it was a feeling he could lean into for consolation or inspiration. Because of his own sense of superiority, Kalladrrl treated beings he sees as lower than him with disdain bordering on contempt. He was a being driven by love and anger – he valued life and freedom but abhorred the way some waste it and infringe upon the rights of others. After the end of his bondage, he immersed himself in criminal life, having little time to deal with questions of good and evil in the face of survival in an unfamiliar galaxy. The strong and the weak exist and philosophy wouldn’t change that.

To Kalladrrl, the result was all that mattered. No weapon or tactic is off the table, including for him the use of the sacrosanct set of claws each Wookiee possesses; it is taboo to use them for non-peaceful practices, but Kalladrrl’s willingness to set aside his honor to achieve results was an expression of the uncompromising character forged in the chains of slavery.

Combined with his sense of superiority is a keen mind; he took great pleasure and found sublime relish in deceiving other beings who thought a massive Wookiee was good for nothing but tearing the arms off someone who owed you a debt. He exhibited a sarcastic wit that he liked to bring to bear blisteringly, chafing those around him and bordering on (and venturing into) the territory of rudeness. Once he established a skillset and a revenue stream outside of his captivity, Kalladrrl enjoyed many kinds of exotic food and drink; money was no object to him in the face of a new gustatory experience.
COMBAT AND SKILLS

Combat

Young Wookiees of Kalladrrl’s tribe received training in basic bladed, ranged and unarmed training, but the last category is where Kalladrrl truly shined. His bulk and height allowed him to grapple and trip opponents with ease, utilizing brutal strikes to pressure points and nerves, chops to windpipes, blows to incapacitate and throws to disable opponents. Kalladrrl maintained a blaster pistol for longer range engagements and to threaten enemies while he closed with them to intimidate and harass. While his bulk lead him to be less agile than smaller races, Kalladrrl was able to move with surprising quickness for a being of his size; the Wookiee used feints and trickery to appear slower and less dangerous than he was, before springing upon an enemy with predatorial fury.

After joining the Sith and especially after discovery his sensitivity with the Force, Kalladrrl took up lightsaber combat, receiving training to wield one in each hand if necessary.

Professional Skills

Professionally speaking, Kalladrrl possessed many skills across a broad technical spectrum to serve his criminal career; he was a self-taught slicer, able to manipulate municipal and droid computer systems with the proper tools and time. His skill with infiltration and electronic surveillance, combined with his research aptitude, provided him with the means to acquire information on sensitive targets, vulnerable systems and potential competition or associates to work with in the future. Kalladrrl possessed a keen mind for science and technical skills, and a style of self-teaching honed in the slaves mines as a screw. While his knowledge was broad, however, it was not deep, prompting him to rely on more specialized contacts for more difficult jobs. His skills at piloting were developing at best; he knew less about the operation and maintenance of starships compared to other technical disciplines. Kalladrrl was more skilled with land vehicles, having more of a chance to pilot them, but considered himself merely competently trained.

Interpersonal Skills

Kalladrrl was fluent in Shyriiwook and Xaczik as a native speaker, but was able to fluently understand Basic, with moderate skill at comprehending Hutteese and Bocce. He was known as an efficient leader of extended criminal operations, if an uncompromising and harsh one. He had little patience for foolishness and a foul temper and character that did not lend itself well to persuasion.

The Force

For much of his life, Kalladrrl possessed the latent ability to sense the Force, but had never received the opportunity to develop it until the presence of the talent was revealed to him by Vex. While he was not as skilled as many in its use, Kalladrrl used his new senses to improve his own predator senses and drew on the Force to enhance the power of his body.

APPEARANCE
Characterized by the lustrous black hair that covered his entire body, Kalladrrl was a vicious looking specimen of his species, with dark brown eyes furled under scrutinizing brows, taking in the world like a wary predator searching the treetops for its prey. He had an angry scar running down his cheek over his left eye, and an almost translucent band of white fur that ran from above his right eye, crossing his nose and chin to end at the beginning of his jaw on the left. Kalladrrl had a wide mouth with gleaming white teeth, pointed and cruel looking, set below a coal black nose.

He was just a few hairs taller than the average Wookiee, but heavier from physical labor and physical pursuits. His sense of style was muted, preferring dark colored armor, what little of it he wore so as to not slow himself further.

INVENTORY
Kalladrrl maintained two suits of specially crafted armor: one, a formal set of Sith Battle Armor and the other a set of Contractor Armor for disavowable operations. He carried a blaster pistol to engage enemies at range. While exploring the tombs of Korriban, Kalladrrl came into possession of a standard hilt, vermillion-bladed lightsaber he had modified to include a dual-phase emitter;on the surface of Korriban he built a second standard lightsaber with a darker blade and a dual-phase emitter, modifying the hilts of both to wield either comfortably with two of his hands. He typically deployed with three fragmentation grenades on his belt. Kalladrrl maintained a protocol droid designated Silvertongue, its chassis gunmetal gray and its voice pitch reduced considerably and modified to have a small, wet measure of reverb.

For transportation, Kalladrrl was granted and maintained a CAG-15 Gunship.

Hey there, so I just have a couple of things. First, as previously pointed out, your character is extremely young for a wookie. They have an average lifespan of 400 years. So if you are looking for age equivalent of a 36-year-old human you are looking at somewhere in the mid to late 100s. The only other thing I see is that you need to link your weapon and armor to approved pieces of armor from the tech boards. Tag me when you are finished and ill come check everything out!

@Raydo

I changed the age and added color to the existing gear links to make them stand out, a convention I'll maintain from here on out.
