Kalee

Coordinates:
J-4

Hyperlanes:
N/A

Climate:
Four climates dot the ecosystems of the planet. Arid, Temperate, Tropical, and Arctic.

Terrain:
Tropical jungles and beaches dot the exterior landscapes near the waterways of the planet. Farther from water sources, mossy canyons and cliffs dot the drier sections of the world. Twisting, uncertain seas dot the remaining landscape, save for the polar caps, frozen over with sub-zero temperatures.

Satellites:
One moon orbits Kalee.

Rotation:
23 Standard Hours make up a day, and one rotation around its star is roughly 378 standard days upon Kalee.

Inhabitants:
The Kaleesh call the planet of Kalee home. The Kaleesh are the dominant species, a sentient, bipedal species with red skin, often known for their bone masks.

Resources:
Kalee is scarce of any major resources. What little there is, is so spread out and deep that it is unusable. Even though flora is common throughout the planet, the makeup lacks much nutrition, making for larger populations on Kalee unsustainable from local sources.

Government:
Kalee's Government is made up of a number of warring tribes. Within these tribes, there are few differences worth noting. Their similarities are quite plain to see, such as their reverence of the old, as well as their reliance on the wisdom of shamans. Warlords are akin to demigods, as those who excel in war are often seen in religious views. As such, the word of warlords is law. War is common, as the goal of each tribe is to get more resources, even if it means taking from other tribes.

Culture:
The culture of Kalee is centered upon war and religion, which go hand in hand. War is the basis for life on Kalee, resources exchange hands as blood is spilled, all while being called honorable and great. Battle is seen as a way to attain godhood, as those who kill more and prove themselves as great in combat join the great Kaleesh pantheon of gods, whether as a Demigod or a God themselves. Elders are seen as wise, and closer to the gods than any other group. Warlords are seen as incarnations of gods or demigods, depending on their greatness. Shamans, users of the force, are revered and looked to for guidance. Both woman and men fulfill the roles of society, as there is no difference between them in the standard peoples eyes.

Technology:
Due to the lack of resources on Kalee, the progress of production was never fully attained. The standard population is equipped with below-average electricity production and slughthrowers as weapons. Any sufficiently advanced system or items most likely originated from off-world.

History:
Ever since the early days of Kalee, the Kaleesh have been the primary species of notice. Being the only sentient species on the planet, it did not take long for them to conquer and rule the planet, albeit divided amongst warring tribes. Armed with spears, bows, and other tribal weapons, they had only developed the barest form of Slugthrowers and equal technology by the time other species found the planet. The visiting species originally went to Kalee to inspect its resources, to see if it was worth mining or any form of resource gathering. It was found that the planet was practically void of any resources, besides its ability to spawn species that thrived in small numbers. While contact with the outer Galaxy was left open to the Kaleesh, the introduction of blasters and space-travel was sparse and too expensive for the general population. The only real change it brought was cheap production of advanced slugthrowers, with the idea of blasters simply a dream for the population inhabiting the resource-void planet. Various warlords have attempted to leave the planet in conquest for Kalee, but few have ever found success. Many simply turned their eyes away from the planet and became mercenaries, working for their own goals and dreams, while a multitude more died in conquest, unprepared to fight against the vastly superiorly armed Galaxy at large. The planet, with an ever growing population of Kaleesh, is in a perpetual state of famine, with a lack of food and a lack of supplies to keep the growing population of the proud people.

Intent:
To create a write up of the Planet of Kalee, which was explained with some detail in the Legends of Star Wars, but lacked a now canon explanation. As it stands, Kalee is simply explained as the home of the Kaleesh race, with little description of who the Kaleesh are, or what Kalee is like. With this description, I believe Kalee can be used for the source of much Roleplay centered around the prideful people, as well as give a solid base for anyone seeking to play a Kaleesh character. The lack of resources, instead of a multitude of a single (or multitude) type will grant a unique RP experience on the planet of trying to survive, much less trying to thrive.

I was just about to make a Kaleesh. If I might suggest something, added a few places of interest and perhaps a little more about the Kaleesh.

Is anything going to be done with Kalee? Cause of there are no big plots by @Jabonicus then I was wondering if I could do stuff on the planet.
