"The first thing you'll see when you encounter Kagrod is that he just like any other guy in the streets. Except maybe the bright orange flippers, and the pipe... And the cyborg leg? No everyone has one of those now'a days.."

Kagrod is the teacher you bonded with in school and the guy you bought your drugs from in the same person. He's always on something some sort of "Damn fine shit"("You gotta try"). Though he always seems to be right there with you all the way. He's an unemployed Astronomy teacher with his head in the stars and feet on the ground. Other than that hes outgoing and always hits up a good conversation especially in the most fitting situations. Music is another thing he enjoys, he can be seen doing some sort of ritual dance when you put on the right tunes banging his head to the rhythm, playing some sort of imaginary instrument at the same time. The strong sense of wanderlust always keeps him going always wanting to go further, deeper and pretty much too close.

Kagrod was born on the ecumenopolis planet Humbarine into a family of 13 brothers and sisters. He was the youngest, and that always means that you've got to take all the shit all the older ones has to offer. His brothers stood for the weekly beatings while the sisters dressed him up. His brothers were fighting all the time to prove their worth as the family heir, and the girls.. well the girls were out of the house before he turned ten (which is basically infantry in feeorin years). Kagrod didn't care for fighting neither did he prove to be the brightest in the bunch in the early years. The only thing he did was wonder what in the world that big bright thing in the sky was that hurt his eyes so much, and shattered into a million pieces during the night.

When Kagrod turned fourteen he was sent to school where the beatings quadrupled with a salty side of his first broken heart on the side. Though this was also the first place he really made friends. Friends that could tell him that this shiny orb in the sky was in fact the "sun" and those million shimmering pieces in the sky at night was actually billions of suns really, really, really far away.
He grew up quick and he grew up mean, his fists got hard and h... no wait that's not true. He grew up quick though and he turned brighter over the years. But his hunger for the stars never diminished, and he kept reaching for stars as far as he could, or as tall as he grew, he stopped at two meters tall but the world just seemed to get smaller. He wanted to see the world, but the truth hit him hard in the face when his elders told him to get a life and "stop listening to that crap" . So it was off to study at the university. which would turn out to be his most eventful years he had yet to experience.

The day was finally there when he swung up to the university grounds in his new speeder van. Proudly strolling up to the entrance which was buzzing with students. He turned around to catch a glimpse of the rear ends of a pair of passing Balosar girls. Then a fist caught him off guard and he was suddenly on the ground. In the hazy warm morning he could hear the laughter of his brothers. And so the bell rang.
The first year of school went by and things went only upward from there. He didn't join the sports team to save himself from as many beatings as he could, since his brothers were the school teams main players. But he did join the science club, where he slid perfectly in with the snotty nerds. One day just like any other he was leaving the classroom he stumbled into the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, she was like the stars herself huge gleaming eyes behind thick rimmed glasses and a smile to die for, which also happened to be in the adjacent astronomy class. Her name was Eiliv and he fell in love, they fell in love. Even though she was half the size of him, which looked a tad off in some situations. But it didn't seem to bother them. They did all their lessons together, and dreamed of the day they'd be in the stars far away some day.
The years went by and they finally graduated throwing their diplomas in the air in joy they were ready for the other side. which turned out not be the case.

The hard truth was that they had no credits. Kagrod started working at a noodle shop in the downtown since the university had a higher standard for students if they were going to tip research facilities about them. One day Eiliv got a message from a facility wanting her to partake in research. They celebrated together, Kagrod was happy for her and pushed her on. Eiliv was too. Her days filled up, and she started to come home late or not at all. They both kept working and time kept passing. He got the message that his father had passed away and he was now without elders. He didn't seem to care about it and the days kept passing, he actually felt free. (at this time kagarod had just passed 98 years of age). Though not many weeks later, Kagrod was at home when someone knocked at their door. It was Eiliv's sister, which informed him that their elders had died in a house fire. Eiliv was not at home, so Kagrod sat all night waiting for her wondering how he was supposed to tell her. But when she arrived at home she already knew, and fell crying into Kagrod's lap. Eiliv took this very heavy, she went depressed. Her days at the facility became longer some times she didn't come home in a couple of days and when she did come she stayed for but a night and was out again the morning after. One day kagrod woke up, but Eiliv was still at home, she was sitting in the living room staring at her feet. She was quitting her job, she was pregnant. Kagrod was ofcourse overjoyed. Though Eiliv was not, She started shouting at him. They would never have enough money to leave the planet, and they couldn't care for their child with only Kagrod's income at the noodle shop. She went on, she was going to stay at her sisters for the days to come. And so she did.

That day Kagrod burnt all his noodles and left for home early.
He was confused because when had he ever learnt how to act in such situations? he didn't know what to do. He tried to contact Eiliv's sister but she wouldn't answer. When he finally went to bed, he couldn't sleep. His eyes fixed on the ceiling listening to the rain on the windows and buzzing of shuttles passing by. Then, Sirens.
Lights flickering, knocking on the front door. Two men in uniform stood there. Where is she.
Only a few blocks away. He ran, rain whipping his face. There neath the bridge, the road had been blocked off, sirens wailed. His breath shortened as he fell on his knees in front of the little crumpled up body. He held her in his arms as the rain washed away his tears. His heart up in his throat. The sound faded. Everything just grinded down to them. They used to sit on the campus roof and look at the night sky. thats what it grinded down to. At least that's how he wanted it.

Legal documents, paperwork, abuse?
Home again. On the dining table stood flowers from Eiliv's sister.

(under edit)

But he didn't know anything else, like with anything to complicated in the social life, he didn't know how to handle such situations so he did what he always had done. kept going.
He decided he was going to quit his job and do what he had dreamed of for so long get away. Which was when he came in contact with an old classmate that offered him a job a school as an astronomy teacher, with reasonable pay for a change. His head was in the gutter. Though his personal life was nothing anymore, the life at school was improving. He got along nicely with the students as he was able to talk about what he loved all day. And so the years passed, during the time he was introduced to the magical world of drugs which he would spend his past time in together with a handful of students, smoking and listening to his all time favorite music he was repaired and patched together. Things seemed to glide straight through him, no swings in the mood only constant good vibes thanks to his "healthy" relationship with the pipe. Though this was what eventually got him fired twenty years later.
But still on the pipe he could do private lessons and his dream didn't look that far away now.

It was actually just within his grasp...

To be continued.
