Appearance

The most appropriate descriptor for Kaarl may be mountainous. He stands 6’9” (2.06 meters) and weighs upwards of 280 lbs (127 kg). His body is a gnarled mass of muscle, fat, and scar tissue, that along with a slightly hunched posture, gives him an appearance that most would consider ugly. Likewise, his face is wide and blocky, with a prominent scar on his forehead that he earned early in his life. His skin is pale, and while he keeps his head bald, his natural hair color is light brown. His eyes are usually brown, but as the corruption of the Dark Side has spread, they have become a sickly shade of amber.

He is usually wears a suit of heavy armor no matter the occasion both for its protection and intimidation factor. This usually results in him smelling awfully foul after a day of combat and exertion. He intentionally stomps as he walks and often belches loudly after eating or drinking. All of these little qualities add up to make Kaarl an overall revolting figure, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Attributes

Kaarl’s most prominent strength is just that. His strength. An imposing physical specimen, he is built like a rancor and fights just as brutally. He uses his strength to overpower his opponents in combat and to intimidate them out of it. Likewise, his Intelligence is not to be underestimated. He is cold and calculating, and willing to step over just about anyone to achieve his goals. While he is primarily a Lightsaber combatant, Kaarl has an affinity for a handful of Telekinetic Force Powers, such as Force Choke, Force Crush, and Force Pull.

However, his greatest weaknesses may be his slow speed and utter lack of agility. He moves at a pace that could be classified as lumbering, hence his preference of making foes come to him. In the same vein, he is the polar opposite of graceful. He can barely make it over a hurdle, let alone perform the slightest bit of acrobatics. Lastly, while his ruse of being a thoughtless brute may benefit him in certain situations, it has hurt his overall charisma in the long-run. Not many will revel in being commanded by a big, stupid, sweaty man.

Personality
[/beebox]

As any Sith, Kaarl strives to possess as much personal power as he can get his hands on. To achieve this, he uses his cunning more often than his strength, despite what his imposing figure would lead one to believe. This is by design, as he has found over the years that his intelligence is constantly underestimated due to his appearance and background, a perception he uses to his advantage. In public, Kaarl may put on the facade of an oafish brute who is too simple to think for himself, but in reality every movement is coldly calculated and taken with his own interests in mind.

He is motivated solely to provide for himself what he lacked growing up: power and control over his own destiny and those of others. Through the Sith Empire and the Dark Side, the former Coruscanti gangster is able to make himself into something more: a warrior, a leader, a master. Maybe even an Emperor, if he plays his cards right. While he doesn't necessarily do violence for the sake of violence, if he feels if it will better serve his act, he won't hesitate to get a bit gratuitous. He isn't a particularly patriotic Sith, but as Empire serves his purposes well, it is in his best interests that it stay strong and prosperous.

Biography
[/beebox]

Kaarl Vulen was born in the bowels of Coruscant’s lower levels. Abandoned and left for dead by his parents, he was found and adopted by a kindly old woman named Nan Vulen. Naming the boy Kaarl after her late husband, she saw to his wellbeing and tried her best to shape him into a kind, hard-working child, despite the horrid conditions of the lower level. For a time, she succeeded, the boy was polite and well mannered. He took all of his studies seriously and hoarded every bit of knowledge he could. It almost seemed as if young Kaarl was going to make something of himself.

Then, without warning, Nan became deathly ill. Without any doctors on their level and too poor to buy meds in the market, all Kaarl could do was make her comfortable as she passed. Without a positive force in his life, he drifted around his level until he fell in with a petty gang called the Hounds. As Kaarl was huge for his age, he naturally became the gang’s enforcer. While still a boy, he began engaging in brawls, spice trades, anything to survive. He kept what Nan had taught him, and actively searched for more knowledge, but he didn’t dare let his new brothers find out. Enforcers weren’t supposed to think, and it even worked in his favor on more than one occasion. Thinking he was too dumb to catch on, the others would disclose the locations of stashed credits and other, more sensitive secrets. Before long, he used this information against the others, slowly rising to the top of the gang’s hierarchy and getting even greater shares of profit.

However, this did not last for long. The same swath of bad luck that had taken Nan away from him embroiled him in a turf war with a neighboring gang. His boys slowly melted away before he was caught alone in a parking garage with a group of his rivals, intent on killing him. He fought, and had killed a few, but their numbers were too great. They sliced his body with knives, turning his flesh into a bloody ruin. When all else seemed lost, a great anger built inside of him. All the rage and sorrow he had endured poured from him as a powerful, otherworldly howl. The gangsters sat helplessly, paralyzed with fear as he beat their leader to death before their eyes. As the dust settled, he lived to fight another day, but not without consequences. The gangsters’ accounts traveled fast, spreading throughout the level until they reached the ears of a Sith agent. Sensing that the boy may be force sensitive, the agent stalked him for the next few days before making their decision. By the end of the week, seventeen year-old Kaarl was abducted in the night and smuggled away to Korriban. For someone who had been taken against their will, he handled it remarkably well.

He trained for years at the Academy, entering a world starkly different than the one he once knew. The dangers of the lower levels were nothing compared to the intrigue and treachery he witnessed as an Acolyte. But unlike Coruscant, Korriban offered him something more: knowledge. He feverishly absorbed every text and lesson he could encounter while keeping up his facade of a fool. When at last he had completed his studies, he had learned much. No longer was he Kaarl Vulen the urchin. He was Kaarl Vulen the Sith.

If David Draiman of Disturbed became a Sith I think he would resemble something close to this. Love it.
