Kaan

"The Dark Side is in your blood boy. I know this...because it is also in mine."

To understand the history of Kaan one must first understand the histories of both the Solimar family as a whole and their great secret.

The Solimars were a wealthy family of bankers from the Core Systems. Although their actual origin cannot be traced it is generally accepted that the majority of the Solimar clan did, in fact, originate on Hosnian Prime. For generations the Solimar family had worked to rise above their rank, each generation seeking to supplant the last. In the waning days of the Old Republic, the Solimars were an up and coming family on the galactic stage, Kaul's grandfather, Dane Solimar being the most prominent figure in the Hosnian system politically and financially. Despite this, no official political office was held by the family. Thus, it was no surprise when Kaul's father, Tybalt Solimar, ran for galactic senate as a representative for Hosnian Prime. Backed by his wealthy father, Tybalt won by a landslide. The Solimar family, who had for generations built themselves up to this moment had finally achieved their goal of pushing into the closed world of galactic politics.

What was unknown to the galaxy at large was that the Solimars were actually descended from the old Sith, a remnant from the time when the old Sith Empire dominated the core worlds. Unwilling to leave Hosnian Prime the Solimar family chose to play the long game, slowly rising in the galaxy and on Hosnian Prime, casting their old Sith heritage away and taking new names. The end goal was, of course, to eventually defect to the new Sith Empire and try and corrupt the Republic from the inside. Tybalt was the apex of this plan. From his position as Senator he broadcast the great corruptions of the Republic for all to see. He became a form of symbol of the old Republic and it's corruption. All of this was done purposefully to turn the people of Hosnian Prime against the Republic. Playing the role of the corrupt and greedy politician, Tybalt followed the dying command of his father, Dane Solimar. However, as the Sith Brotherhood began to gain ground against the Republic it soon became apparent that the end of the Solimar's grand plan had come at last.

As a rule, the Solimar children were kept in the dark about their Sith heritage. Instead, they were isolated by their father in order to avoid the culture of the Republic becoming something the children embraced. Unfortunately for Tybalt, his son Kaul was adventurous and, being a Senator, Tybalt had little time to spend tutoring the young boy. However, upon the fall of the Republic Tybalt had every intention of raising his son to be Sith.

Some time before the Battle of Chandrila, Tybalt informed the Sith of his true loyalties and offered his allegiance. This was initially met with suspicion amongst the Sith, who feared he may be a form of double agent. Tybalt was commanded to show his loyalty by killing tracking down and ensuring the deaths of a few key Republic Senators during the battle and also to show his true devotion to the Dark Side by killing his wife. Tybalt obeyed these commands, killing the Senators and their families during the battle and doing the same to his wife.

During the battle Tybalt was caught in the explosion that destroyed the Senate Rotunda, injuring him. While not suffering any debilitating damage, it did cover his body in horrible cuts and scars from the shrapnel. As a result, Tybalt officially disappeared and Kaan was created. Using the name of the final Darth of the Solimar family since the Old Sith's fall, Tybalt donned the family's ancient Sith armour, which had been hidden since the fall of the Old Sith Empire. Now a true Sith, Kaan served as a enforcer for Imperial troops during the purges, at times personally executing Republic sympathizers.

Despite the return of the Sith, Tybalt had suffered one great failure in the loss of his son and heir, Kaul. As the Republic fell, the planet of Hosnian Prime revolted against the Solimar name, destroying the their estate and killing anyone associated with the Solimars. Tybalt had believed that Kaul was among the victims of these riots and as a result he retreated into the Sith Empire, serving when needed but retaining a shroud of secrecy.

Most believe that Kaan, as he is now known, is simply a broken man who lives to serve the Sith. However, the Solimars are masters of playing the long game so who can tell what this one has planned.

The appearance of Kaan is part of his mystery as he is almost always seen encased in Sith battle armour. His voice is crackly and at times the question is asked if he is indeed human as most think him to be. He stands tall at 6'4" although it is unknown how much of his height is his own body versus the armour.

Before his transformation into Kaan, Tybalt Solimar stood at 6'1 and had short brown turned white hair and piercing blue eyes. He was considered handsome and was quite built for a politician. If he were taken out of the armour today he would be unrecognizable from the massive amount of scars and cuts on his body. He is bald and has fully embraced the Dark Side, corrupting his appearance further.

PERSONALITY

latest

Kaan is curious for a Sith. He is an active supporter of the Imperial bureaucracy seemingly believing that it exists to serve the strong who inevitably must destroy the weak. Despite this Kaan has a certain weariness about him, seemingly not electing to take part in the day to day intrigues of the Sith Empire and instead pursue his own mysterious goals. When partnered with fellow Sith or Imperials he shows the due respect unless it is not returned in which case Kaan is quick to anger. He despises incompetence and has been known to punish such with death or torture. Kaan is patient by nature and some fellow Sith often wonder whether he is truly as apolitical as he seems or if he play some longer game.

Kaan is a ruthless fighter and a practiced servant of the Dark Side of the force. He is a master of Form V "Djem So" which compliments his physical strength and burly form. The Solimars self taught the Dark Side to the oldest heir and, as such, Kaan has been trained since he was a young man in the ways of the force. He has also supplemented his training since he officially joined the Sith Empire and has shown a particular penchant toward force choke. However, despite his injuries he is perfectly capable of utilizing force lightning.

He is not without weakness, however. He often is given assignments alone or with smaller groups due to his disconcerting personality and appearance. He also is simply not as proficient with the force as he could be. Despite the Solimar family managing to pass their teachings down for generations their version of the Dark Side was somewhat diluted as time went on. Much of their power and time was spent hiding their true nature and thus some abilities were never explored by Tybalt or his kin.

So a few things here:
1. The armor will be posted by me shortly in the tech thread. Its nothing too fancy I was almost considering using the standard sith armor stats for it. It really just looks different.
2. The histories of my main and this character are obviously very connected. This is on purpose but let me know if I have to change anything.
3. Finally I know the formatting is off, I can't seem to figure it out if anyone would like to assist me in this I would be deeply appreciative.

Let me know what y'all think.

So, as for 1: I am pretty sure that if you ONLY change aesethetics in the armor, you can use the "counts as" rule (correct me if I'm wrong) which basically means that if you only change the way an item looks, it's all good

2: I like it, but you also need the approval of faction leaders like @Malon (Who could also let me know what he thinks of my Sith character and approve it!) if your character will be a Sith, same basic rules apply for Jedi and Mandalorians to.
3: I... Actually can't help you there since yours looks a bit better than my ideas
4: Can we do a Sith thread sometime, once our characters are approved? I think that'd be cool, and since your character is a marauder, mine could be your apprentice if you wish. She's not smart but she is powerful.

For sure! Once approved I'd be happy to do a thread with you.

So I've been accepted into the Sith high command, am I to assume that this character is approved?
