Just Some Friendly Sparring

Nuala's blade weaved back and forth; sparks showered across the arena as she intercepted the blows and batted them aside. She wasn't a one-trick bantha. There were several more tricks to go.

She waited until Vei's right leg came forward, then she blocked his strike with her 'saber and retaliated by aiming a swift kick at his shin. This was followed up by her aiming another force push at his groin... or where she assumed the groin would be on a Jawa. Hard to tell, really.

Vei with quick reflexes turned his knee inwards so the kick forced his knee to collapse, compared to do any disabling damage. The force wave came soon after slamming him in the chest due to his lowered position. He rolled backwards, returning to his feet panting from the near winding foce blast.

His blades were stilled for a moment, but they began to spin again. This was going to become interesting. Vei dashed in with great speed. Fast enough for a normal person to misjudge his distance. (objects are closer than they appear) With a quick pivoted flip, the Jawa bought his wepon down on her with the velocity of his spin as well as his strike. Lowering to a tiny stance, he wasn't going to give her time to breathe... he rose quickly stepping in spinning with what can only be described as a tornado of attacks.

Spinning and whirling not unlike his own weapons. His style in action, which, after all, was a spinning one.

How Vei could do all of this without hurling all over the area was beyond Nuala. If she had done half as many contortions as the Jawa had, then she probably wouldn't be able to remain upright, let alone use a lightsaber effectively.

The problem was that Vei was very good at being effective. His assaults were coming faster and harder than she could keep up with. Her blade twisted about, attempting to deflect and block each coming strike. It was difficult work and she wasn't completely up to the task.

Two of his strikes got through and nicked her arms. Nuala hissed and redoubled her concentration. She needed some edge, some trick, to give her a bit of breathing room. This time, she broke out a force pull and tried to jerk Vei straight into her. Her hand shot forward, relying on the element of surprise to keep her from getting jabbed, attempting to grab Vei's shoulder. If that worked, then she was fully prepared to up-over onto her back and kick the Jawa across the room.

Vei was cought in the force pull, causing him to lurch and accidentally drop one of his blades, which rolled away a little behind her, turning off the other in middair as he was thrown to avoid self injury. Although he managed to right himself a little with the force, he found himself colliding with the floor with some force, rolling up to a standing position in a limp as he had landed awkwardly on his ankle. Vei winced as he accidently put weight on it. The small Jawa was brittle, and easily broken.

He looked back to his opponent. Wrapping his ankle in the force to support it. He looked back at his her. Smiled a smile of 'i'm alright.' the one blade in his hand re extended as he ran toward her with slightly lowered speed. But only slightly. But Vei could play dirty aswell. Just before he reached her he called back his other lightsaber with the force Which returned with a spin. Aiming to cut deeply into her side as it pulled back into Vei's hand.

Where, if he could, he would use her flinch to holding both blades he would turn on the side of his good leg and use the smooth surface of the temple floor to slide between her legs. lashing out either weapon to strike the backs of her knees to drop her down as he rolled out. Using his miniature frame to an advantage.

"Nice try, bud."

Nuala met Vei's smirk with one of her own. From the way that he was moving, she could tell exactly what he had in mind. After all, she'd done that herself a time or two in the past. What she didn't expect was for the other lightsaber to fly at her from behind.

The beam of light caught her on the flank, drawing another light burn across her side. Nuala gritted her teeth against the pain and jumped over Vei's sliding assault-- just barely clearing his twin assaults. After a smooth landing, she smoothly turned around to face the Jawa once again.

But she wasn't going to let up. Nuala charged forward, trying to catch Vei before he could stand upright. She brought her lightsaber about in a horizontal slice, trying to bat his blades aside, and then a vertical one to try and score a hit.

With the horizontal attack Vei blocked with both blades, causing him to roll out of the way of the second attack, first coming to one knee and usint the upward force and vaulting off his good foot he threw one of his blades for he back. This was a kill shot. Focusing entirely on her lightsaber with the force as he threw the blade. Just as his blade was about to connect. If she would try to block, he would attempt to turn off her lightsaber with the force.

Causing, even at the speed a lightsaber retracts and extends, the thrown blade would have already passed her guard. On the downside, Vei was forced to drop the force brace on his strained ankle. And upon landing, rolled as his bad ankle gave out below him. Straining it further, and damaging his ankle even more.

There it was. Vei had discarded one of his lightsabers. Nuala moved forward intent on capitalizing on the advantage. She wasn't going to slow down for anything, not even a thrown lightsaber. In a mimic of the Jawa's earlier move, Nuala dropped into a low slide that carried her underneath the whirling blade of death.

Her lightsaber faltered for a second and then snapped back on, but there wasn't time to worry about that. She came out of her slide on her feet and Nuala pushed that momentum into a springing leap that carried her towards Vei. She fired off a force push at Vei's other lightsaber and then brought her own 'saber up and then down, going for another score.

"Sorry for the hit and run, but I've got a boomerangin' lightsaber chasin' me." She quipped.

Indeed, no, his lighstaber wasn't chasing her at all. As she force pushed Vei as he rose he span and reterned the favour to her in middair, point blanc before her strike. The force welled up in his hand, and in a wave of Telekinesis motioned to hurl her back. Where his lighsaber hovered like a spinning floating mine to intercept her.

Reguardless as to wether his attack hit or not, she would strike a deep nip into his shoulder. Causing more pain to course through the Young Jawas' body. But, he hoped that he could end this exchange of blows... She was a far superior fighter than she led on. Opportunistic, crafty, and had a very keen mind capable of thinking on her feet, which reflected in her style.

Panting heavily, he looked at her and returned his far off lightsaber to his hand hoping it would be uninhibited on its journey. This fight was increadibly close, though there was a heavy chance that it was not over yet. "You're really pushing me to my limits..." he panted. Re-assuming his stance, and waiting.

Nuala hadn't quite expected to be on the receiving end of a force push as well. The little Jawa had a few tricks up his sleeve as well. She bounced backwards and grunted as his floating lightsaber slammed into her back. Ow. Her right arm hit the ground first, jarring it in its socket; a grimace passed over her face as she pushed herself up and to her feet.

"Back at ya." She grinned at Vei. "You're really, really good. I'll have to remember some of the tricks you've used against me for next time."

 

[Orphen]

Vei nodded and bowed to his opponent. "thank you for the spar. I hope that one day soon we can be on the battlefield together. But most definatly do not forget about makashi... After seeing the way you fight when you bar no holes.... it would compliment you astoundingly."

Vei finished, putting both of his lightsabers away and leaving the hall.

"See you around Nuala!" He said with a wave, before heading back to his room limping and having a looong sleep.

"Same to you, Vei!" Nuala called after the Jawa.

She liked the little dude, she truly did. It was refreshing to come up against someone who was willing to let her go all out and just be herself. She sighed and then realized that she'd probably better start heading back towards her quarters... a batch of lotion was sounding really good to her little lightsaber singes right now.
