Joseph Emmanuel Trazyn (known as Trayzn) was an Imperial Politician and Aristocrat, who served as one of a slew of political agents and operatives in the Imperial Republica, and as leader of the House of Trazyn. Having attended the University of Kuat and obtaining a Phd in Law at the University of the Core he was for a short while a Political Advisor to some minor members of the Imperial Court

Overview

Trayzn was the son and grandson of Imperial Politicians and military figures, and opted to align himself with the political wing of the Empire from a young age. After reading law at the University of Kuat, and obtaining a Phd in that field during further study, he became one of the Cores brightest stars upon graduation. Entering into the Imperial Court at the age of twenty-six, Trayzn made his mark known and was soon sponsored by a collection of wealthy core-world figures to take up the position of Moff. Whilst he was deemed by some to be all to youthful and far too inexperienced for the position, he was to capitalise on the unpopularity of certain fringe and border holdings, to enable himself to secure the position of admistrator, seem by some as a fast track to higher office. This manoeuvre was to culminate on his twenty-seventh year, when he was made Administrator of a collection of mining asteroids on the border of Imperial Hutta. Having swept to the posting with little opposition, he was soon offered a senior-advisory role with the Moff of the region, on the condition he relocated, and pledged his support unconditionally to the Moff. Deeming the cost to high, Trazyn declined, and instead made overtures to the core and his allies there, in the hope that would secure him greater advancement.

The resignation, and tragic death of the Moff of the Coruscant was to be the watershed moment for his career. Moving further into the Core, and becoming one of the advisors to the new Moff, a friend from his University days, Trazyn was to enjoy something of a heyday, his own web of contacts, and proximity to the power brokers of the Empire, enabling him to look to his own fortunes far more than he had done in the past. During his career, Trazyn has become known for his debonair character, ease at which he makes friends, and his seemingly charming nature. He is described in some circles as the ‘consummate Imperial Gentlemen’, both by way of character, and morals.

Early Life

Trazyn was born in the upper levels of Coruscant, in what used to be known as the Senate District. His Father, Johan Jamesson Trazyn was a senior diplomatic envoy in the Imperial Diplomatic Service, and former business executive for a financial conglomerate. His mother, Mon Eespa Trazyn, née Karala, was the daughter of a Kuati Business Mogul, working primarily in the real estate space. The Trazyn family claimed kinship to the ‘House of Trazyn’, within whom could be found a long list of Imperial Governors, and one or two Moffs. The legitimacy of these claims has often been seen in question.

The more recent of Trazyns ancestors could trace their lineage back exclusively to occupants of the Core, his most notable directly linked ancestors being members of the Imperial Military, serving on internal suppression campaigns mostly against criminal elements in the underworld - from whence a sizable amount of the families wealth has originated. One of the Trazyns living relatives is a hotelier, on his fathers side, which has afforded the young man the life of luxury in the core.

Joseph was his parents second child, with his two other siblings being sisters. His upbringing was one of privilege, and protection, sheltered from the world by droids and staff, until he was sent off to an upper-class boarding school on one of the many stations that orbited Coruscant. He became a talented duellist, with both sword and blade, whilst at school, learning to speak Huttese and to understand Binary whilst in attendance. Thanks to his familial connections, many political contacts and business figures often dined at the families home in the Upper-City, including Moffs on more than one occasion, which would assist him further down the line in his own ambitions.

Education & Schooling

Joseph was to attend a boarding school near Coruscant, that prepared the spawns of the upper-classes for their attendance to the University of Kuat. Whilst in attendance, thanks to fears of a political shake-up on the Core, he was moved to a prep school on Kuat, which he was to take to with great ease. Beginning at the Kuati Grammarian on his twelfth birthday, he was to join the Imperial Cadet Force, which would in turn prepare him for a life in the diplomatic services. Briefly, Joseph considered taking up a career as a professional duellist, however this aspiration was dismantled by his father, who passed away in his last year, leaving the estate of his family to him.

University of Kuat and the Core

Having secured a place at the University of Kuat, mostly through the fact that his uncle was sat on its board, Trazyn left school at the age of sixteen. Toward the end of his year, he was sent off for military service, and honorably discharged following receipt of his education placement offer. Taking up the reading of Law, his main interests at University focused around political and social activities. Indeed, he often drew attention to himself for his eccentric behavior, leading to one of his teachers commenting that his “nature and personality is deeply exotic, and lends him something of a heroic and machiavellian air.”. Trazyn was wasted no time in seeking advancement, even whilst at University, and was elected as the ‘Commander’ of the ‘Imperial Club’ on Campus, an organisation with well connected scions of the Imperial elite.

Beyond this, he was to advance in the Diplomatic Cadet Core, and whilst still at University, applied to be considered for political and Governmental office upon his graduation. This did not take place for some while, and he would serve as a researcher for the University and some local Imperial officials whilst he completed his Phd some years later.

Early Career
Imperial Advisor & Administrator

Accepted onto a fast-track program, which was often seen as the ‘correct and proper process for a Gentleman’, Trazyn spent the first few years out of University working in the office of several senior political figures in the core. He was to make several contacts within the media and business establishments of the Core, which would in turn set him in good stead for future advancement in the political field.

Initially, the wannabe Moff was not offered a position, until eventually he was to attend the Imperial Court as the attache to one of is employers, and broach the question to one of the Emperors senior advisory staff at the time. As fortune would have it, the Moff of Imperial Hutta was so keen to ensure that one of his less salubrious dominions was palmed off to some up-and-comer, that Trazyn was soon appointed as the Administrator for a selection of asteroid colonies on the fringe of the region.

Formally adopted as the regional Administrator for the area, Trazyn began to ingratiate himself with the movers and shakers of the frontier region, with his usual blend of charm and wit getting him through the doors and into the seats he needed to be in. He spent a great deal of his spare time cultivating support for his administration within the belts business and political elite, forming lasting friendships with shipping and mining magnates, that would go on to financial cement his future bids for more affluent positions.

In need of additional income, and a position that would grant him a reason to head into the Core and therefore up his profile, he took on the additional role as an advisor to the Moff, through some considerable amount of backroom dealing. Initially, Trazyn found it difficult to make time, or allowance of his new role, until he was to practically abandon his position, and handed the day to day management of the role over to an already overworked droid.

Throughout his mid to late twenties, his juggled his political and government careers, to such an extent that he was able to build enough support so that, when the Moff of Core passed away, he was ideally suited to benefit from the internal reshuffle of positions that was to follow.

On the Rise

Trazyns efforts to ensure that he was in the right place when the time came, paid off, and he was returned as a senior advisor, to a collection of figures within the Imperial Core - and for Trazyn, it appeared as though his ascension was close.

Personality

Deeply intelligent, and possessing of a wicked sense of humour - Trazyn is every bit the imperial courtier and gentlemen. However, behind the well mannered façade resides a man of viscous personal ambition, with no qualms or morals as to whom or what he has to betray or destroy to get what he wants.

Able to make friends with ease, he prefers to operate through and via other people, shielding his own desires and intentions behind well planned schemes and objectives. In a word, he is deeply machievallian.

Skills & Abilities

Trazyn is a man of many talents, most of which can be found off the field of combat. Mostly, his skills are of a personal and scheming kind, focused around the smoothing over of peoples worse sides, and the abuse of their nature. Able to read a person very well, as well as to push them to their limits, his true skills lie in manipulation. Able to speak only basic, as well as to understand Huttese, Rodian and Binary, he is a master of the political arts.

Thanks to his upbringing, he is skilled with a fencing blade, as well as a pistol and marksmans rifle. Other than this, he has a strong understanding of the Imperial System, as well as its political structure.

I think Trayzn is a very well-developed character, but any references to Grand Moffs need to be changed to just Moffs; he can have worked as an attache for a Moff instead of a personal advisor to the Grand Moff which would still be in keeping with his status as an Agent -- and from there he can develop through RP into a mighty and efficient administrator in addition to his status as a gentleman of consummate Imperial manners.
