OOC: Open to all Sith
Umbara was fine and well for an academy, but everyone could agree that a planet that was perpetually enshrouded in night was depressing after a while. Azar - or Arcanos as everyone outside of his inner circle knew him now - had taken great steps to secure Korriban as a Sith planet united under his rule. While he had his coronation as king, part of the appeal of Korriban was reopening the Sith Academy.

The academy was beautiful, but his own palace was far better suited to host gatherings. He invited the Sith Order to his own abode, giving them a taste of his life as royalty. There was a man-made lake in the backdrop of the courtyard which was a show of his status on a planet otherwise lacking in water.

Today was a celebration not for Azar’s accomplishments, but for the opening of this new academy that would hopefully replace Umbara as the chief training academy for Sith. Today was also a day to honor Caerllion (@LouJoVi ) and Trael’s (@Javier esschoolbus )ascension to Sith Master. While he didn’t have such lavish ceremonies of his own thanks to their absent and worthless Dark Lord, Azar would ensure that others in the Order rising up after him would get the recognition they deserved.

1pPM6k_UbLynNoTLHIzUdCId79TVVmzIA.jpg

The hall was grand and wide, the sun hanging low over the stunning dunes in the distance. Local music played and there were countless dancers both pureblood and off-worlder in bellydancer clothing to serve as entertainment. Lavish drinks and appetizers lined the chambers along with more alcohol than anyone could ever need. There were specialty drinks laced with local fruits that were sweet and refreshing to counter the desert heat.

For once, Azar wasn’t late to his own party, practically floating into the scene in his flowy attire. His crimson torso and copious amounts of tattoos were revealed, his perfectly manicured nails painted gold, his hair styled and cascading down to his shoulders in waves and jewelry adorned on his neck, wrists and earrings. He also had a golden piercing on a nostril, completing the look of a royal. It was clear Azar was in his element.

He would make some elaborate speeches once the new Sith Masters arrived, but for now he helped himself to some figs and honey and a goblet of wine.

Caerllion felt honored for having a part being thrown in honor of his promotion. He even felt happy with it, and this feeling only grew more because it was Azar the one that had organized it. As he had said to the Pureblood, the Annfyn wasn’t going to forget the feelings that he had for the red-skinned man.

The only problem with this party is that the Annfyn would need to deal with Azar’s lovers. It would be painful to watch the Pureblood surrounded by the others while he could only watch from afar. At least their presence would make Arcanos’ happy and seeing him smile would be enough for Caerllion to feel satisfied for the night.

He arrived in an outfit that showed his princely origin, while the colors alluded to his membership of the Sith Order. His ears had golden earrings typical of young nobles. The hall was starting to get filled with other guests, but Annfyn's attention turned to the music and the architecture of the place. It was very different from that of his homeworld, but he couldn’t deny that it was very beautiful.

While he looked around, Caerllion’s eyes fell upon Azar. His mind immediately stopped working, needing some moments to recover. The Pureblood looked amazing, with his chest exposed in all its glory. The tattoos fitted his skin so perfectly. The Annfyn immediately walked toward the man.

After all, etiquette demands that the guests need to greet the host of the party as soon as they arrive.

And Caerllion wanted to talk with him, even if it was for a brief moment.

King Arcanos, it’s an honor to be here. You look magnificent.” he bowed in front of Azar, his eyes flashing a brief sense of adoration before he controlled himself. They were in the middle of another Sith, he needed to show all his respect to the man in front of him. “Thank you for organizing this part, everything looks amazing here. I feel honored for you to have remembered my promotion.

Iymril made it a point to always attend balls, galas, and parties whenever they occurred. This one also happened to be to celebrate the opening of the Korriban Academy and the promotion of two Sith to Master.

Iymril was more interested in the Academy and who was being appointed tenure as professor. They’d applied for the position of Professor of Sorcery. Iymril believed their chances of obtaining the position was fairly high.

They’d spent the last eighteen hours preparing for the gala on Korriban, researching the culture and traditional outfits for weeks before that. The lehenga they designed was utter perfection, their greatest work of art to date. They had Zira work on their make up for the last four hours of their trip. Meanwhile, they mixed nail polishes to create a near one to one color match of their dress. Then they carefully replicated the pattern they’d stitched into the dress in their nails. As final touches they picked out a pair of heels that matched the primary color of their dress. Each finger was adorned in a yellow gold ring. Their ears were adorned in winged golden earrings, dotted with fragments of bled kyber. Finally, they wore several dainty yellow gold necklaces with a variety of gemstones that glinted off of the light as they walked.

They were beauty and grace incarnate.

Iymril glided from the speeder that ferried them to the palace of King Azar. They would pause to admire the beauty of the palace’s approach and the man made lake. This place was a veritable paradise. Only after they had truly appreciated the sight before them did they enter the palace itself and drink in every fine detail that surrounded them.

However, the most beautiful thing in the palace was their host. The handsome and terrifying King Arcanos himself. Iymril would float up to the Pureblood they’d worked once alongside but for on several occasions now. They gave a deep curtsy to the King of Korriban, soon to be Emperor of Sith Space.

King Arcanos,” They offered as greeting. “You look handsome as always.” They offered as a genuine compliment. “Thank you for inviting me into your home.

Ah yes, more parties. Everyone else seemed to be absolutely in their element here: all gowned up in princely attires and ready to flaunt their wealth. Maybe Vander should have felt ashamed that although he wasn't poor he certainly wasn't a Prince or King or anything else comparable.

Well... life went on, and there were other assets at his disposal, right?

Vander had had to expand his arsenal of "nice" clothing and ultimately settled on something that would be useful for "the auction" and for the party as well. It was simple but nice enough not to stand out, which was ultimately Vander's goal. Given the way his last party had played out, Vander had his lightsaber strapped away under the flowy bits, and his eyes were open for tattoos.

When it was all said and done, he decided he was at least going to try to enjoy himself a little bit. The fact was that he saw these more as business than pleasure, but they were a necessary piece of the ultimate puzzle.

All else being said, though, Vander had to admit he was stunned by the views. The entire palace was gorgeous in a way that even Vander had to marvel at and the sun setting over the lake was a sight that would linger with him.

Being typically early to things, the few people who were already here were gathering around the Sith Lord himself, and Vander thought it best to pay his respects as well, waiting for the others to speak their piece.

My Lord, he said, giving a respectfully inclined head in partial bow (@Sreeya). Your home is stunning. I appreciate you opening it to us, he said. No doubt Arcanos would be in high demand throughout the evening, but Vander couldn't help but think that his experience running through sewers with the Sith Lord as a Zeltron felt like a fevered dream standing here now and seeing the Sith in all of his Kingly getup in his Kingly palace. It almost didn't feel like it had been real.

He gave a nod of his head to Iymril (@Apollyon).

And congratulations, Master. We haven't met yet, but I am Corax, he said (@LouJoVi), introducing himself as he always did by his Sith name. Oh yeah, he was crushing the formalities. Yupyupyup.

Ayomi didn't like parties. As with just about any social affair, there was too many people, too much noise, and few places to hide. There was a reason the Tiefling tended to avoid such gatherings like a plague, and they hadn't been to one since that time they met Caerllion for the first time; the Annfyn, coincidentally, being the reason they were showing up to the celebration Darth Arcanos was hosting in celebration of the new Korriban Sith Academy and the two new Sith Masters.

Caer had sparked something within Ayomi at that first party, a spark he'd helped them stop suppressing and allow to flourish after a memorable night on G'wenee. With that fire came a host of emotions and desires they'd never explored before, but ones the Tiefling could feel were making them stronger. A strength that would only compound as they continued to explore them with Caer at their side, like he'd told them.

Ayomi wasn't much for dressing up, usually preferring the comfort of leather jackets or the familiarity and practicality of light armor to anything widely considered "formal" or "fancy." But this was a massive milestone for Caerllion, and they weren't going to diminish it by looking like they'd just walked into a nightclub. Putting together their best impression of something formal, the Tiefling wore an outfit that combined a more formal-looking shirt and pants combo with their more usual assortment of chains and extra belts, with a suit jacket on top to bring the look all together. It was far from standard, but Ayomi wanted to try their best for Caer; he deserved that much.

The champion entered the party with far more confidence than they had the previous engagements they'd attended, head held high with their hair tied up in a loose bun between their curved horns. The Tiefling's blue skin stood out amongst the crimson of the assorted Pureblood servants, yet Ayomi felt oddly comfortable. They'd initially been trained on the Pureblood-dominated Dromund Kaas, after all, and they'd always had an appreciation for the Pureblood culture.

Ayomi spotted Caer in the thick of it all, near the party's host Darth Arcanos. As much as they didn't care for the guy, they couldn't argue with his success. It would be unwise not to show him the respect he'd earned. They approached the others who'd already gathered near him, offering the ornately dressed Pureblood a bow.

"Greetings your majesty, Darth Arcanos. I appreciate the invitation." Ayomi said, before rising from their bow. It was an obligatory greeting, but a genuine one; their distaste for the Sith Lord paled in comparison to the Tiefling's feelings for Caerllion. They turned towards the Annfyn and took a few more steps to stand next to him, a smile on their face and a brightness behind their red eyes. Ayomi moved to link their arm through Caer's, before asking Arcanos "My Lord, do you mind if I steal the guest of honor for a moment?" They wanted to catch up with the Annfyn before he was caught up in any pageantry his promotion entailed.

Serene had taken what she had learned from Utapau and returned to her Coven of Shadows. The sect of Sith she led practiced their dark arts and progressed their agendas in hiding whilst the rest of the Sith Order continued. But now there was a reason to return from absence and it happened to also be a good one.

"Enjoy yourselves. Maybe you can learn a thing or two. Don't let your guard down." Those were Serene's parting words with her penta-squad of witches. The beautiful apprentices were all acolytes and learning how to best put their skills to work. Even on a night of rest and relaxation there was time to learn. They were also still among Sith so it was best for them to be cautious. Serene had regaled them with the last time she had attended a social event and how wild it had gotten.

Thinking back to that event Serene wondered if she would see any of the same faces as last time. The near-human enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Korriban. This was the first time Serene was visiting the world so it was momentous for the Champion. She concealed her excitement as well as ever though and remained relatively stoic aside from a mild pleasantness than perpetually remained on her face.

Serene was wearing a red dress with gold details and accessories that glittered against setting sun like the waters of the artificial lake. Coiling dragon stitching and fine fabrics made her attire both beautiful and comfortable in the desert environment. As always, close to her immaculate heels was her droid cat attendant and familiar, Rupert. A small red vest was worn by the tiny mechanical cat and in his pockets were Serene's commlink. She did not want to carry a purse and did not have any pockets nor did she want to carry it in her hands. Aside from that, the woman had come with little else.

Korriban was getting a new academy which meant there were likely going to be some changes with the Umbaran Academy. Such things were of interest to Serene just as much as the status of the newly promoted Caerllion. He had assisted Trodai in his escape from prison the same as her but aside from that event Serene did not know much about the man personally. Trael on the other hand had been closer in work with Serene by a small margin. It had been a long time since she had last seen the man. Perhaps he would be willing to brush her up on form X at some point. Training could wait until later. For now she was here to enjoy the lap of luxury like she was meant to.

Approaching the gathered crowd around the King of Korriban Serene inserted herself when there was an opportunity. "Thank you for hosting this event, Lord Arcanos. You have made my first visit to Korriban one to remember." She addressed him first out of respect. ( @Sreeya ) Her first visit could very well have been filled with blood, sweat and tears. But a pleasant party was nice too. Then again, the night was still young.

The near-human's eyes shifted to Caerllion. "Congratulations...." She looked the man's wardrobe up and down as she tilted her head to the side. "That red is a good color on you. Far better than a lab coat or prison fatigues at least." She gestured with a painted nail towards his jacket and gave him a relaxed wink. (@LouJoVi ) Despite the compliment, her eyes were struggling to decide who to look at. There were a lot of beautiful people at this party so she would try to keep some compliments in reserve.

Serene leaned towards Iymril and squinted noticeably at their fingers. Her eyes widened as she saw the detail they had put into their outfit. Her pupils dilated slightly at the level of sophistication the dark sephi had taken. "That's amazing." She uttered in momentary awe as she admired their attire. (@Apollyon )

Trael had been informed that there was a celebration for the opening of the Sith academy on Korriban. Not only that it was also in honor of his ascension to Master. Apparently another had also been promoted, Caerillion, he was familiar with the Annfyn having worked with him a few times. Trael was interested in the opening of the new academy, though he was far from a sorcerer he still would like to familiarize himself with the potential knowledge that Korriban could hold.

He had heavily researched the dressing choices of the planet. He wanted to surprise Azar by showing up dressed in something that came from his culture. He decided on a blue and gold outfit. He wanted to get a matching scabbard for his sword but was confident weapons weren’t allowed. So instead he styled it with two sets of bead necklaces, one in each color.

Trael arrived and took in the palaces exterior. It was every bit as exquisite as he’d expect from Azar. He made mental notes of potential escape routes and various other aspects of the building. Though he highly doubted anything would happen know where and how he could get Azar out from was needed. Once he did his mental gymnastics on the exterior he headed inside. The inside was just as exquisite as the exterior. Trael had always appreciated Azar’s fashion sense, but it seemed his decor preferences were also something to marvel.

When he got to the hall it wasn’t hard to spot Azar, he was already surrounded by a group of Sith. He only recognized three of them, the others were new to himself. Trael walked over to the group taking a bow before Azar (@Sreeya), “King Arcanos, it’s always a pleasure to see you.” He said straightening up, “As always you are certainly dressed to impress.” He complimented as his gaze looked over his boyfriend. He looked over the other Sith, curious of what to make of them all. Before Caer (@LouJoVi) could get pulled away by Ayomi, Trael offered a nod, “Congratulations, Master Caerillion.” He said to the Annfyn. Serene was marveling over another of the Sith’s (@Apollyon) attire. Trael couldn’t help but look at the clothing. He noted the intricate details in the design.

Cyrus made a deliberate effort to attend parties, galas and social events hosting by members of the Sith Order. It was an opportunity to surround himself with the extravagance that the Veruna obviously believed himself entitled to, in addition to building connections with the upper echelons of their organization. Even as an Acolyte, Cyrus wasn’t ignorant to the significance of a new Academy being established on Korriban - nor the undertones of tension that had begun to appear amongst the Council. It was all far above the Acolyte’s paygrade - but he certainly wouldn’t miss an opportunity to ingratiate himself with the noble and illustrious Arcanos. Considering their last encounter didn’t end with his own sacrifice, Cyrus couldn’t help but consider his own luck better than most.

Though it didn’t manifest across his expression, the Acolyte couldn’t help but marvel at the Palace that stretched out around him. It was a testament to the wealth of the recently crowned king of Korriban, and an example of the Pureblood culture that entirely too many of their kind were ignorant to. His gloved fingers traced along the polished stone as he walked, stepping out into grand ballroom that overlooked the lake.

The Acolyte was dressed in the fashion and culture of Korriban - adorned in a Sherwani of ivory and gold filigree that was tailored snug to his athletic form. A matching dupatta wrapped around his right shoulder and across his back, neatly folded across his forearm as he strolled into the palace. Against every passing torchlight, the glint of golden rings and a fashionable chrono glinted from Cyrus’ hands and wrist, coupled with the ceremonial dagger tucked into the front of his belt.

He was entirely within his element - dark hair styled neatly, while the scent of earth cologne followed his every footstep, leading towards the only three individuals that Cyrus cared about whatsoever.

“Lord Arcanos,” Cyrus stopped before the king of Korriban, dipping low to kneel before the Sith Councilor respectfully. “Thank you for your gracious invitation,” He continued, dark eyes tilted towards the floor as his head dipped. “And congratulations on this momentous achievement.” Only when Cyrus was given indication to rise would he do so - his attention promptly flicking to the two Sith Champions that flanked the Councilor. His head dipped to both respectfully. “And congratulations to you both.”

As his eyes rose, however, Cyrus couldn’t help the subtly way they flicked across Caer - unimpressed that the Sith Master being celebrated didn’t make any effort whatsoever. to dress according to the customs of their host. Rather than remark, his attention promptly flicked towards Trael once more - lips tugging towards a smirk. “It would seem the fashions of Korriban suit you well, Master Osso.”

Azar was beyond pleased to see the guests actually take the time to not only dress up, but some studied the local fashion. His own attire depicted his role as a King rather than a fashion statement, and for once he was content with not being the most dramatically dressed individual. The Pureblood surveyed the attires as he finished up a snack, a servant pouring more wine for him.

Iymril (@Apollyon )approached him and he was beyond impressed by the magnificent attire. Azar knew that the Sephi tailored their own clothing, “That dress is immaculate,” He said, admiration in his voice, “You must design an outfit for me,” Azar said, “I’m not so pleased with my current tailors.”

When Caerllion (@LouJoVi )arrived, the Pureblood smiled at him, “Of course. I hope you find Korriban pleasing to the tastes. There is a grand library in the palace with a collection of my favorite books should you wish for a tour,” He said, his gaze lingering on the Annfyn’s as he took a sip of his wine.

When Corax (@Phoenix ) approached, Azar gave him a nod. The Champion had proven extremely useful in hunting down Occidius and his cult. Azar deployed the man to keep following the trail because the Pureblood was entirely too focused on forging a new empire.

Serene (@Darasuum ) approached him and he gave her a polite smile. There was a time where he had considered her a rival due to her interests in sorcery, but it became abundantly clear she didn’t have ambitions that could match his own, “I am pleased you have joined us,” Azar said as he took a sip, “I don’t believe we’ve formally met..” They had. He was just that dismissive.

When Trael (@Javier esschoolbus )walked into the room, Azar’s breath caught in his throat. He was nervous about what Trael would think of Korriban - after all the man had never been here before. Circumstances made it so Azar had to arrive here first without giving him a proper tour. To see Trael adorned in formal attire of Korriban made him completely melt. The goblet initially slipped from Azar’s hand and he quickly caught it again, smiling fondly at his man. The affection and love was clear in his golden gaze as he looked at Trael, “You look incredible,” He said, deciding to hold back from the blatant displays of affection he wanted to express. Trael would know the look.

With both Masters having arrived, Azar prepared to address the crowd. That was when Ayomi (@René ), the tiefling that Azar vaguely recognized cut in and asked to tug Caerllion away. The Pureblood said nothing in response, blankly staring as if he hadn’t heard them. Dismissing the request entirely, he then turned to the crowd, “Thank you for coming to my humble abode,” He began, “We are here today to feast and enjoy ourselves. I would like to take a moment to recognize two individuals that rose through the ranks to be granted the prestigious title of Sith Master today,” Azar said, first turning to Caerllion, “Caerllion is a man that has been a part of the Sith Order since it was still considered the Sith Empire. He has been in the trenches with the Imperials, he has seen the rise and fall of an Empire, and today he stands among us ready to take up the mantle of Sith Master to usher in a new regime. Let us recognize Sith Master Caerllion Cyfnos!”

He clapped along with the crowds before turning to Trael, “Trael has been an instrumental part of the Order. He was among the few that led political negotiations on behalf of the Sith, established his own powerbase and bravely combated one of Raze’s monstrosities himself. Trael has seen more combat against the Jedi than perhaps all of us combined,” He looked around the room, “Let us take a moment to recognize Sith Master Trael Osso! With the two of you in your roles and the newly opened Sith Academy, this is a Sith Order I can believe in as we expand our footprint across the galaxy and take us further than our predecessors ever have!

Azar raised a glass in toast and waited for others to join before he took a sip, “Now let’s enjoy ourselves and see where the night takes us,” He said with a smirk as he stepped away from the elevated platform from which he gave his speech.

The music picked up again and the party was on.

Zira felt entirely out of place, but she couldn’t deny the thrill of venturing to new places because her Master made her tag along. She had helped Iymril get ready, doing their hair and makeup and also helping put their attire together. Even now, she carried a bag that had touch-up makeup to ensure that the Sephi looked perfect all evening without a hair out of place. Iymril reminded Zira many times she was, under the penalty of death, not allowed to upstage the Sephi in any way.

The tiefling selected a beautiful dress Iymril designed, choosing something that would pale in comparison to what they wore. Her hair was in a braid and she wore jewelry to accessorize the look, one of her slender legs revealed with sandal style heels to match. Zira was still expected to look stylish as per Iymril’s demands, but just not enough to be a threat to their looks.

To avoid drawing attention, Zira stayed to the outer perimeter of the room, helping herself to a glass of a fruity alcoholic drink. Her gaze fixed on Darth Arcanos, the man that took over Zygerria and the campaign that saw her slave brother die while trying to lead a rebellion. Her eyes then panned to Corax (@Phoenix ), the man she recognized from the party gone wrong. She didn’t dare move any closer to the crowds, so she remained where she was.

Zira looked over at the dancers, watching them enjoy their craft. She could dance too, of course, and she would join the entertainment group if her master commanded it. For now, she was doing what was expected of her - standing around as Iymril’s pretty little accessory.

Trodai arrived after some of the others, as he arrived he had mixed memories about this place. He remembered it as a ruin, a place he had failed. Murzana. Where he had fallen. And yet now seeing it in splendour, how he was now....he saw it for the lessons of had provided and the jewel Murzana was. Just as Azar was a rare jewel.

He had come in his capacity as both Regent of Ur and to celebrate his former master, Caerllion, ascension to Sith Master. Dandelion he remembered they're joke nickname between them, Trael as well, which surprised him a little, and earnt a bit more respect. They may not have got along but he respected the man's accomplishments, just as he had risen again so it seemed for Trael too. Trodai entered with confidence, far from the unsightly being he had been months prior, in all his new glory and restored in both title and physical form. He hoped to enjoy himself tonight, and so was on his best behaviour.

He would not disrespect his king, by causing a scene in his house. He was not the fool of his past, he had an image and perception to maintain. A king to serve and protect. To love.

He entered wearing a more traditional attire, a outfit fitting of his new title. With him he carried two wooden boxes, intricately carved, one each for Caerllion and surprisingly one for Trael too. Gifts from the Regent of Ur to those who had earnt such a respect, it was rare but he thought it appropriate to mark the occasion. Those who earnt such recognition deserved some reward. The longer box contained the gift for Trael and within sat on red velvet sat a traditionally made Korribani sword from the forges of the city of Ur itself. It was intricately carved and yet lightweight and easy to swing. He felt Trael would appreciate it as a warrior himself. A gift to help protect Azar from warrior to warrior for one who had earnt the honour of such a gift. Despite how salty they were to each other there was a mutual respect always. At least he liked to think so.

The second smaller box for Caerllion contained a strange ring, that seemed to hum with the Dark Side. Crafted by the Sorcerers of Narat for a Sorcerer who could appreciate it. He headed for Azar first smiling at the sight before him.

He was breathtakingly as always. He was glad to see him. How he loved the man.

He waited until the others had seen him, before making his approach. Bowing in respect of his host, his king and his lover he spoke with a smile. "A pleasure to see you again King Arcanos. You look ravishing as always." he sure did, Trodai was getting a little bit hot over how he looked like that, his gaze lingering for a moment. He looked so perfect. So majestic and kingly. So handsome as always. He loved seeing Azar so soon after Verona and hoped to enjoy his company if opportunity allowed it. To enjoy the evening just as much as Trael would. And everyone else. Although he knew what these socials were like. They had never been pleasant affairs. But he could hope. At very least he wasn't looking for trouble, as for anyone else he suspected they would just have to wait and see as the night went on.

He observed as Azar gave his speech, saying nothing but observing. As the last words exited his mouth he clapped in recognition of two placing the boxes down so he could do so and recognise those who were ascending. He was proud of his former master for making it as he had. It did make him think, would he join those illustrious ranks soon. He hoped so. He aspired to.

After the speech he approached Caerllion and Trael with the gifts in the boxes. Trodai was actually surprised to see Trael in traditional Korribani dress, this also earnt respect. He appreciated the consideration with all who had chosen to do so.

"Congratulations to you both. It is well deserved, Trael and Caerllion. I know we have our...differences Trael but well done. You serve the Order well and our king. A gift for both of you. To mark the moment in a traditional way according to local custom. A traditional Korribani sword for a warrior to appreciate, and a ring crafted for a Sorcerer who can respect it." he said , allowing them to take their gifts if they so wished or leave them in the boxes and take them later in the night. The Grotthu would look after them.

After handing the boxes over, he approached Azar again smiling. Offering another bow before he spoke.

"A excellent speech my king. Let's hope the night is not too eventful." he said with a small chuckle.

I would love to do that, my lord.” Caerllion said, thinking about possible Sith poems that he could find here. It would also be a good place to discreetly leave the book that he had promised to give to the Pureblood, so he could start practicing with Annwfyn’s language. (@Sreeya)

Caerllion watched as more Sith arrived. Among them was Trael (@Javier esschoolbus), who was dressed perfectly like a member of the local nobility. He had to concede that the human was very well suited to this party, probably due to his experience in being so close to Azar. It didn’t escape the Annfyn how the Pureblood had reacted to the other Master’s presence.

He knew that Azar had lovers, but seeing it in front of him left the Annfyn with a turmoil of feelings moving inside his chest. Trael made the Pureblood nearly drop his glass in awe, while Caerllion only received a free pass to the library. The black-haired man felt envy, rage and every dark feeling possible. However, when he noticed the smile and the different light that appeared on the red-skinned man’s eyes, all of that evaporated.

The Annfyn understood that Azar was genuinely happy at this moment, something that had wanted to see since Batuu. Caerllion turned away from the two lovers to greet and say his thanks to the Sith who had talked to him (@Phoenix @Apollyon). He felt happy for having been blessed with a glimpse of the Pureblood in a moment of joy. Even if it wasn’t for his presence.

He even laughed a bit when Selene (@Darasuum ) mentioned the clothes that he had used when they helped Trodai escape from prison.

However, his dark feelings were still there, he only decided that it wasn’t worth feeding them at the moment. He would use them elsewhere, perhaps by torturing that pesky Acolyte (@Altaris) that stared at him so dismissively that Caerllion had to raise an eyebrow. The Annfyn had no idea from what trash the Order had scratched out that creature, but the next time that he looked at him this way, Caerllion would have the pleasure of testing on him a spell where entrails could be removed through the mouth.

With the subject still alive, preferably.

That thing was a better candidate as a lab rat for it than any of his precious animals. The later at least were smart, the first was only occupying space and wasting oxygen in the Galaxy. Not even all that good linen could hide it.

Then, Ayomi (@René) arrived. Caerllion studied them from a moment, looking at their outfit. He immediately compared them and Azar. The Annfyn couldn’t believe that he had felt attraction for someone so basic. So bland. He really needed to control his lustful impulses, because trying to pursue the Tiefling had been a complete stupidity on his part. He could have used that time to get closer to the Pureblood and learn how incredible he was.

Perhaps the only saving grace for the Tiefling was their potential as a Sith. However, even that was contrived due to the terrible Master that they had. Perhaps it was charity that made him want to get closer to Ayomi. And stupid lust, of course.

And now, they were trying to touch him. The simple thought of it felt completely wrong, because they weren’t Azar. Before Ayomi could reach his arm, Caerllion simply grabbed their hand and shook it. “Thank you for coming!” he said in a tone that sounded friendly. The Annfyn wasn’t going to make a scene by slapping their arm away, not in front of the Pureblood and even less in his own house. He was part of nobility, faking reactions was part of him.

Besides, the Tiefling could still be a useful pawn in the great scheme that was the life of a Sith. Perhaps, he could still find a way to manipulate them.A pawn was a pawn, after all. And he wasn’t going to discard one simply because he lost interest in their appearance.

He was saved from further interactions by Azar’s speech. Caerllion became full of pride when his name was mentioned, years of hard work finally bearing fruit. Perhaps what surprised him the most was the fact that Trodai (@Akheron) arrived with a gift to him. He immediately opened the box, marveling at the ring inside it. “Thank you, Trodai! It’s really a great gift.” he smiled, while putting the jewelry in his finger and feeling the Dark side on it.

Now that people were dispersing, Caerllion knew that Ayomi would approach him. His mind started to think in how he could still use them to his plans without giving the affection that the Tiefling wanted.

Iymril drank in the attention, they thrived on it. They brushed the lock of braided hair behind their ear as gently as possibly. They didn’t want to disturb the green orchid that was woven into the braid. Sephi normally didn’t smile, but here Iymril felt their lips tug slightly upwards. Especially when Arcanos requested something tailored by them.

I would be honored, my lord.” They replied graciously. “We can discuss the particulars later, I won’t steal you away from your guests.” (@Sreeya) With that Iymril would glide to pluck themself a glass of wine and another for Corax.

When the man nodded to them, Iymril would nod back. Their ears perked as they offered him the glass. (@Phoenix)

You do clean up well Corax.” They whispered, their ears twitching playfully. “When are you going to let me take those measurements and sew you a suit meant for the gods?” They continued playfully. “Come, sit and drink with me.

However when the human woman (@Darasuum) in the red and gold dress stopped to behold them. Iymril glanced back, an eyebrow cocked as they appraised her outfit. It wasn’t bad but they could have made something better. When she commented on how amazing their dress was, Iym felt themself preen.

I know.” They replied. “I made it myself.” And sipped from their wine.

Iymril would listen to Arcanos’ speech, their ears perked. They would clap as everyone else did. Iymril would even pause to admire the outfit Master Osso had selected, he had done his homework too it seemed. While the man was attractive, Iymril wasn’t blind to the affection between the Sith Lord and Master Osso, they opted avoid flirtatious conversation with the man.

As more Sith poured in, Iymril would glance around. They couldn’t help but wonder who else that mattered would arrive and how well dressed they would be. So many outfits to appraise, so little time.

The gentle evening breeze carried far more than the chill of the desert through into the oasis. Vossari Khaldun appeared onto the dance floor, drawn by the timbre of the hand drums that carried across the sandstone halls of King Arcanos's palace. He wore traditional Wrean outfit, a woven loincloth and matching, beaded neckpiece, open on the belly to expose his countless tattoos. His ears were covered in jewelry and piercings, but Acridia loomed more powerful and dangerous than ever. Overtop the skimpy suit was a long, red silk scarf, which tied off his extensive braids. Jangling on the inside of his robes was his lightsaber, tucked away.

Even if he could conjure water from thin air, Voss hated being dried out. The first thing he did was get himself some rich fruit juice, thick and sweet. He twirled across the dance floor, letting his suit blow open like a whirling dervish. His twirling eventually stopped, as his ever-handsome king began to speak. The succor of his Korribani accent reminded him of the juice that he drank - ripe, deep, intoxicating, rich. "Salute to the Masters - long live King Arcanos!" Vossari cried out at the end of his speech, as partygoers and entertainers echoed the chant.

Vossari sauntered over towards the King (@Sreeya ), smirk on his face.
"Lord Arcanos, you look more ravishing than ever." Voss loved anytime he could get a peak of his lover's Ur-Kittat tattoos that swirled beneath his silky fabrics. His brown eyes turned to regard Master Osso (@Javier esschoolbus )- the only other Sith he had known nearly as long as Azar that remained. "You finally put in for the promotion. Thought you were avoiding it." Sith Master was a cursed rank that took their best and brightest. Vossari gestured his glass towards Trael, to clink their glasses together. "Congrats."

He refused to acknowledge that Trodai was here, but otherwise the party was booming. Vossari ached to dance more than he did talk, so he slowly began to step in that direction, unless someone said something that would make him stand still.

Ayomi wasn't surprised that Darth Arcanos ignored them altogether; quite irritated, and feeling justified in their dislike for the Sith Lord, but not surprised. They knew what the other Sith thought of them, but they'd all come to respect the Tiefling soon enough. With a new sense of purpose and direction, and with Caer at their side, they'd be accomplishing—

The Annfyn's hand met theirs in a handshake...?!

For a moment, it seemed that all time had stopped. The gears in Ayomi's head ground to a sudden halt, the smile dropping from their face as they tried to process what just happened. Did Caer want to keep them a secret? He'd given no such indications on G'wenee, and hadn't it been his idea to be open and proud of their passion?? "Darling, don't fear your desires!" he'd said. So what was this?

Caerllion spoke to them as they shook hands, yet Ayomi barely even processed the words. He sounded friendly, but he'd sounded different before; he'd been warmer, more genuine. Something was off. Or were they overthinking it? Panic set it, and the Tiefling spent most of Arcanos' speech staring at their hand in stunned silence. Their pointed tail, which had been twitching in excitement just moments before, drooped to the ground and lay still. Ayomi clapped with the rest at the end of the Sith Lord's big speech, a half-hearted smile briefly appearing on their face for only a few seconds.

Even if Caer had wanted to keep things secret between them, surely he would've let them know before the party? The raven-haired man was thoughtful and strategic after all, and from their trip the Tiefling had gathered that he liked to have a plan, to be aware and in charge of the situation. He hadn't liked the chaotic speed of their driving, after all. Even beyond that, his onyx eyes held no warmth in them, and they didn't linger for even a moment on the blue champion. Ayomi's heartbeat sped up, their mind going through a thousand scenarios and explanations.

It was like he'd forgotten they existed. Like he'd been caught off guard by their appearance.

What was going on??

Ayomi lingered in place for a moment after the speech, watching as the elegantly dressed Trodai approached Caer and the other new master with gifts. The Tiefling frowned; they'd hoped to be the first one to give the Annfyn a gift, albeit slightly more privately as they'd indicated when requesting to take him aside. They could feel the weight of the newly crafted lightsaber hilt inside their jacket. Of course it was the wretched Pureblood who'd managed to outdo them once again. Anger flashed behind Ayomi's red eyes briefly, but soon enough their bitter rival was gone and there was an opening once again.

The champion strode up to Caer once again, but this time with worry and confusion on their face instead of happiness and excitement. They needed to figure out what was happening right away. "Congratulations Caer..!" Ayomi said, with a half-hearted attempt to match the Annfyn's jovial tone from earlier. "I thought this wouldn't change anything between us..." they continued, dropping the tone of their voice to a loud whisper to avoid other ears, "...but clearly something's up, you weren't like this on G'wenee. I'm not that socially-unaware champion you met on Nar Shaddaa anymore, in large part due to you. So tell me Caer, what's going on?"

Long after the first minutes had passed, after the whirlwind of arrivals and greetings and speeches and cheers and offerings and impending heartbreak, an old but familiar presence chose this lull to make its presence known to Arcanos. The usual way.

Nefid had arrived without fanfare, wearing an appropriate outfit in her usual color.

Though she didn’t know to smile when their eyes met, she did her equivalent, drawing out a minor burst of contentment. Seeing him at the center of it all, surrounded by loyal subjects more important than her, it made sense in a way things rarely did with the Sith. Like she knew from the start this was where he would end.

The trick is to be untouchable, she opened, recalling his words to her, long ago.

Lord Kressh. Lord Arcanos. He’d never told her, she hadn’t been around for that. But it was like just being near, she knew.

Trael was happy to see Azar’s reaction to his appearance. He had taken his time making sure he captured the essence of Korribani fashion. He smiled at Azar’s (@Sreeya) compliment, “Thank you. I’ll make sure to wear it again sometime.” He said to his man. His gaze never left Azar’s, taking note of the way he looked at him. He knew what that expression meant, sadly for now they had to be present for the party.

His gaze turned towards the acolyte (@Altaris) that regarded him about his attire, “Thank you. You must be new.” He said bluntly, the acolyte was unfamiliar to Trael so it must be a newer member. He couldn’t help but notice that he also opted for a cultural outfit. Trael could appreciate those who liked to try and ingratiate themselves to Azar, but those that paid his culture heed were also on his radar.

Trael listened intently to Azar’s speech. He hadn’t been in attendance at Murzana so this would be his first time seeing Azar in all his royal glory. He clapped after Azar’s part about Caer. Then listened to him began listing Traels achievements, he wasn’t expecting such praise. Though his achievements in the past would pale in the ones he would seek to accomplish in the future.

After the speech Trael stayed gathered near Azar. At least until Trodai approached him and Caer. He listened as the Pureblood gave the two Masters a long winded congratulations. It wouldn’t have been Trodai if he didn’t bring up their spats in the past though Trael had mostly moved past them he wouldn’t deny the slight lingering dislike. He took the box from Trodai (@Akheron) looking at the craftsmanship of the carving before opening it. Upon seeing the sword his eyes lit up slightly, it was true as a warrior he could always appreciate a good blade, “Thank you, Champion Trodai. This was a fine gesture.” He said in a professional tone.

He was examine the blade when he heard a familiar voice call out. It was Voss (@Fine Dining Set), it could hardly be a Sith gathering without the unpredictable Wrean, “Now it’s your turn to seek promotion. I doubt you can stand lagging behind.” He said to Voss in response to his avoidance of the Master rank.

He returned to examining the sword. His innate curiosity of blades taking over him. That’s when he heard Caer address someone. His eyes peaked out from the box to see Ayomi (@René) shaking hands with him. Weren’t they a thing? Why would they be shaking hands? Trael felt like he was missing something, so he decided to look preoccupied with his sword while the two chatted. He heard Ayomi’s questioning of why Caer was being distant, he was more interested in this drama than he’d ever admit. His time watching holodramas with Azar must’ve been rubbing off on him. He also knew Azar would eat this up, so he stood staring into his box ears open for more drama.

Caerllion turned to Ayomi with a large smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes. The Tiefling was smarter than he had expected, being able to notice that the Annfyn disposition toward them had indeed changed. Now he would need to make more excuses or he would lose a pawn. Perhaps he should have swallowed his disgust and accepted the arm that they offered early.

At least this way he would not need to deal with the situation that was slowly unfolding around him.

Others were watching, he needed to be careful.

Nothing, Ayomi. Everything remains the same.” he said, maintaining a perfect facade of normalcy. He guided the Tiefling until they were away from Trael and Azar. His mind spinning lie in a matter of seconds. “It’s because I’m tired. The climate of Korriban is more extreme than what I’m used to, even if the place is beautiful.” he controlled himself to not look at Azar’s way.

Besides, today is the birthday of my mom.” this was, perhaps, the only truth that he was saying. However, the Annfyn didn’t mourn that day in a long time. “I usually like to stay alone with my own thoughts on this day, but only came here because it would be disrespectful to Lord Arcanos after he had all the work to make that party. She would be proud with my promotion.” Caerllion said, making his voice sound shaken while the words were mustered, while the last one was said in a dreamy way. If the Tiefling looked close, they would see that the dark-haired man had wet eyes.

He was pulling the pain that he felt by seeing the difference with how Azar acted with his partners and how he acted with the Annfyn, and twisting it to make Ayomi see as if his suffering was for his mother not being able to be here to celebrate another birthday.

Any of the tears that were accumulating in the corner of his eyes weren’t for his dead mother.

They were for Azar.

And only for him.

He was nearly crying for another man in front of the person that apparently loved him back.

It was sick.

It was Sith.

But now that Lord Arcanos made his speech, I really needed to find a silent corner to think about it.” he would move his hand to touch their cheek, suppressing the urge to move it away as soon he touched their skin, as if this simple act was nocive to him. “You understand, right? How there are some things that we can only do alone? Moments that only ourselves can find the strength to overcome.” a tear slid through his cheek and he used this as an excuse to remove his hand from the Tiefling’s face. He brushed it off.

Sometimes, we need to be alone to digest the pain.” it was another truth, because he was really feeling pain. His words were carefully crafted, though. They were said in a way that Ayomi could feel sympathetic to him, because Caerllion knew about their past, where pain was a constant part. The Tiefling would have dealt with all this suffering alone. Their parents sold them and they had a terrible master. They had to digest it all alone.

Now Caerllion was indirectly trying to bring that sympathy out of the Tiefling to cover the fact that he loves another person.

And that the pain that he was feeling was because of that man.

I’m really sorry for not being able to stay here with you.” this sounded so genuine, that Caerllion mentally shuddered with the thought that it could be part of himself really apologizing to Ayomi for not being able to love them. “We can talk later, but now I need to go. I need to deal with the pain.” he said, before turning away and trying to disappear among the crowd.

He wasn’t going to turn back even if they started to call. In his eyes there were some tears, but Caerllion didn’t care what the other Sith said or thought about it. The tears were tools for him to fulfill a goal.

Tools as much as Ayomi had the potential to be.

A party? A fancy party, in a place with a working sun and warm weather? A new academy they'd be allowed to transfer to? They had to be there. After the fifth Umbaran shadow-rave, the pitiable acolyte had come down with something like seasonal depression. They'd never thought they could get tired of fishnets, and yet...

Corwin craved a return to the vibrantly fantastical fashions from the party capital of the galaxy. Still, shouldn't try too hard for her 'debut'... right? Probably.

He stuck to a split-leg black and gold number, highlighting the flamboyant tattoos that peeked from beneath. Natural tiefling claws were painted in shades of lucky red, save for a shorter pair on each hand in gold. The tiefling's tail swung smoothly behind them as they walked the palace, taking in the hundreds of different styles and cultures gathered here in the home of King Arcanos himself. Corwin smiled and applauded the announcements while waiting their turn to greet the host. Given their lack of prestige, they were low on the list.

Carried carefully in the Tiefling's arms was a well-wrapped transplantable bouquet. The sort that breeders on Zeltros came up with in between spice trips. The sorts of flowers that wouldn't grow on Korriban unless one, say, had the wealth and influence for shade and water. Gilded Lace Lillies, with petals like gently curving clouds of cloth tracked with specks of molten gold, surrounded a selection of royal red orchids with fanciful, complex petals and a heady, rich scent.

Once they were allowed forward, Corwin stepped to within and appropriate distance of King Arcanos (@Sreeya), offering a deep bow to him and then to Master Osso- Caerlion had wandered off with someone for what looked like a private conversation- before using their tail to neatly sweep their lower dress aside enough to kneel before King Arcanos without it touching the ground. And kneel they did, with a smile and all, basking in their arcane aura. "Long Live King Arcanos, a salute to the Masters. I offer these as thanks for having me in your beautiful home." The bouquet was offered up with both hands while Corwin's tail-tip flicked back and forth in admixed nerves and excitement. Hopefully, Arcanos enjoyed exotic flowers.

Azar was entirely oblivious to the drama brewing, his attention drawn to his other partner that decided to make an appearance, “I didn’t think you were coming,” He said cheerfully to Vossari (@Fine Dining Set ), affection dripping from his tone as he was delighted to have both his partners here today. He couldn’t deny that pang in his chest as his gaze briefly flicked past the crowd to an empty space where the ceiling was tall where he could envision Karys (@Apollyon ) standing there. He would be picking at his uncomfortable clothing and complaining about the heat. The Pureblood only smiled, lifting his glass in toast to the memory of his late husband before taking a sip.

He missed the Caerllion and Ayomi drama entirely when he spotted Nefid (@Volene ) across the hall. He would recognize that radiant alabaster skin and the sharp, contrasting clothing anywhere. Azar smiled as her familiar voice echoed in his thoughts.

Always Azar for you, He responded, Here in a world of our own.

He couldn’t deny how pleasant it was that she didn’t convey words aloud. Everything remained a private conversation, a unique understanding, an arrangement only between them, I trust you’ve come to provide the true entertainment of the evening, He said with amusement glinting in his eye as he smiled at her.

His attention was tugged away by the newest arrival, an acolyte tiefling (@Mr. Teatime ). How many god damned tieflings were there? He counted at least three already. He gave a curt nod to the acolyte, accepting the flowers before handing them to a servant to care for them properly, “Of course, acolyte, enjoy yourself.”

The music changed and Azar decided he was in the mood to dance. Everyone else could dress incredibly, but no one could dance like Azar Kressh.

The pureblood stepped out onto the dance floor, beginning with a gentle sway with his hips and twirling his hands. It became a beautiful, intricate dance that began to develop into more complex moves as he spun and danced around the floor. Eventually he slowly sank to the floor, rising up again while bellydancing. His body was as fluid as water, every limb nimble and perfectly poised as he put on his own delicate performance. It was nothing like the raunchy dance at the Nar Shaddaa club, but it was beautiful and graceful in its own way.

Azar glanced over at the crowds, making it clear anyone that dared to join him in dance could.
