"Which of those do you wish to practice now?" Van Tien said hoping that he could get his student to decide what to work on at the moment. Looking around, he spied some cookies that he figured could be useful.
Turning his head t face his master. " I would just like to study her a little more, after all knowledge his power is it not?" He said with a slight smirk on his face.
"Well, we have some books written about her, I'm sure you could continue of you study of her with them. Right now, there is a library down the hall that you could initially look at. In the mean time, would you like some cookies?" Van Tien asked as his cookies were an important part of the training. They had a few substances that were impossible to detect without instruments and they would enhance the student's knowledge of Shalharra.
Van Tien sat the cookies down on the table and he began munching on one of them. It was one of the few that wasn't drugged. The other undrugged ones were ones that wouldn't appeal to the recruit.
As for the drugged ones, they had hallucinigens that would be able to cause Jeff to think he saw Shalharra and would enable him to think that he heard her. It largely caused hallucinations based off of recent memory and given the talk of Shalharra and some of the pictures that were posted nearby, it would be difficult not to begin having visions of Shalharra.
Jeff was then highly susceptible to suggestions and sights of what was around him. As his daze was continuing, Van walked down the hall to get some stuff. When he came back, he has a large paper-mache sculpture of Shalharra. Inside the paper-mache sculpture was a small recorder which was playing a speech containing most important doctrines of the Alsakan religion which would eventually go into Jeff's imagination.
Van Tien waited as his student continued to receive his "religious" hallucination. The vision would last for another half hour as Van Tien started looking for materials to prepare his coming lesson. Soon, books would be provided for subjects such as ceremony and diplomacy, two key parts of a priest's job.
"What happened?" Van Tien said as he was bringing in the final books on diplomacy.
He actually did know basically what happened as it had happened to him before. When it had happened, he was studying medicine and was able to figure out how it happened because he knew what chemicals he was working with. The student on the other hand had no training in biochemistry and would have no clue of the chemicals that were being fed into him.
However, at this moment, Van Tien had to maintain the act that Jeff had experienced an actual religious vision. Fortunately, he was very good at it and that those skills got him to his position.
"Really?" Van Tien said in well disguised surprise. "What did she say?" He also was listening to ensure that any accidental heresy didn't slip by and that he could verbally nudge Jeff's understanding a bit if it deviated a bit from official doctrine.
"She made me understand it all she told 'bout the Alsakan history 'bout the religion she said peace is the meaning of all things and is the ultimate goal!"
"How much detail did she give and did she give you any specific plans?" Van Tien asked hoping to understand exactly what Jeff had learned from the experience.
"If that is what Shalharra wills, then you must do it." Van Tien said. Honestly, he expected a bit more from a half an hour simulation. However, he was go along with it as it would encourage Jeff to continue studying. Perhaps, Jeff could even go on a minor mission that would give him experience and knowledge but it wouldn't be overly dangerous or critical.
"Diplomacy. Considering the events currently happening, perhaps you could be an observer at the meeting and then try to learn by watching and then later on, you could be sent alone on missions." Van Tien said thinking of all the discussions that were going on.
