Jedi's Weapon

Can a Jedi's Lightsaber have any colour they want and can we have the choice of Double Wield (one in each hand) or Double Bladed Lightsaber (like Darth Mauls). ^^

I just wanted to know. ^^

You can have any color and fight with however many blades/sabers you want.

If you really want to get traditional, no you have to have a yellow, blue or green blade. And again no, you must have one saber until Jedi Weapon Master Rank or Jedi Knight Rank is given to you. Depends, and you can only dual or wield a double bladed if you’re a Jedi Guardian, but since this forum isn't that traditional you can basically do whatever you want...

That's nice, we aren't traditional.

But yeah, I think I speak on behalf of the Council Masters and most Jedi.

I think there should be some limitiations.

Maybe as a Padawan you should only be aloud a Single Bladed Lightsaber, and the colours available to you as a Padawan should be Blue for a Guardian. Green for a Consular or a Yellow for a Sentinel.

That should be all that is available to you as a Padawan.

If any Council Member would like to Correct me then please do.

In a few books I’ve read there have been padawan's with Red or crimson lightsabers...Just thought it was worth telling you :1:.

Don't use red/crimson. It's not a good idea while there are "dark ones" running around the galaxy.

I like the idea that colours represent who you are as a Jedi. I'll do that for my character. Going to lead him down the path of a Jedi Sentinal. That's why he wields a yellow lightsaber. He's more of a traditional character anyways, so works out. ;)

There have always been exceptions to these rules. Generally Blue represents guardians, yellow setinal and green consulars, but Mace Windu was a guardian and he wielded a purple sabre. A few other's were exceptions. I think Luke was? He acted as a Consular in his later years when he started the academy but wielded a different color lightsaber...

So it's always possible to be an exception to the rule.

As far as I know, Luke was a Jedi Consular, it must be noted that he did have a blue lightsaber at first, but that was a Anakin's lightsaber, not one Luke himself built, and so his construction of his own lightsaber, not only it's color, signified him as a true Jedi then, and he chose his path differently from his father, in that he headed the new academy, and taught as a consular does, rather than a guardian.

I have never encountered any text of any kind to say he ever switched lightsabers after the green one he built inbetween Episode V and VI.

If we’re going by sourcebooks, the Jedi will only ever have one single bladed lightsaber, as to have more or to have other styles will only aid you further in killing, when killing should really be a last resort. And the only colour crystals available are green and blue, red being achieved by pouring your hate and anger into it, and purple only being achieved by those who use Vaapad, as it brings you partly into the dark side, as purple is a mixture of red and blue. All the other colours come by reflecting the light through the crystals at different angles.

But don't have two double-bladed lightsabers, as they are more likely to get you killed than acutally help you fight. :P
