Slowly, very slowly now did light begin to creep back into the eyes of Khivas, the young Jedi slowly regaining consciousness. Letting out a deep groan, the man looked around himself in an attempt to gain his bearings and figure out where he was and what had happened. A moment longer, and he realized he was hanging upside down, and after feeling around as far he could, he found that he was strapped in, and that's when his memory returned in full.

Khivas was a padawan heading along on a mission to scout a nearby mining facility to check on it for the Jedi outpost stationed there, accompanied by another padawan using one of their short range shuttles. It was meant to be a simple, quick, easy little mission, go in, go out, come home. Yet something went wrong, something went very, very wrong, and now Khivas hung here upside down dangling like a child's birthday party toy from his seat, and-

And the other Padawan, "Shit!"

Coming to his senses fully, Khivas remembered that the other Padawan was with him when his shuttle went down, when he had a massive malfunction of the controls and was forced to crashland it in a way so it wouldn't blow up with them in it, but now he was stuck upside down and the Padawan, the girl. "Korra!" He yelled out, remembering her name trying to reach out to her and see if she was ok. "Korra! Can you hear me?!" He yelled again, wrestling with his harness, trying to break free but finding that his harness was jammed, refusing to yield to him. Reaching up to his left boot, Khivas reached out his hand and used the Force to call to him his combat knife, the blade loosening and falling into his hand, allowing him to begin the process of slicing the harness off of him.

As he finished the harness off Khivas fell from his seat and landed firmly on the ceiling of the overturned shuttle, loose tools everywhere that did nothing to break his fall and everything to worsen it. Moaning as he got up, Khivas checked his surroundings and found Korra strapped into her seat still, also hanging upside down and also unconscious, but alive. Making his way to her, tripping lightly over the loose tools, Khivas took hold of her harness and was thankful that hers was not jammed, and after popping her free, gently laid her down along the new floor and tried to wake her up.

"Korra, ahh damn it come on kid, wake up!" He said, eager to get her moving again. As Khivas tried to wake her and waited for her to come back to reality, he looked around his ship and took note of what was going on, figuring out what exactly his status was. Although crashed, the ship somehow held up and the windows hadn't broken, already one miracle in his favor apart from them being alive. The power reserves of the ship had waned and the likelihood of the shuttle flying again was grim to say the least, but the reserves were enough to keep the life support systems active, something Khivas was grateful for, but he knew that they would soon run out.

Laying Korra down in a comfortable position, Khivas got up and searched the rest of the shuttle, looking around and taking stock of what was still left from the crash. There was various scanning equipment, some exploration gear, a quick repair kit, and emergency supplies, particularly medical ones. Looking at the environment suits, Khivas could see that each one had a tank of air left in it, and he could only guess on how long the power reserves would keep going. In light of all of this, he would have to find a way to either get this ship going again, something that would be very unlikely, or set off a beacon as to alert somebody to their location and warn them of their predicament, since short ranged shuttles didn't come standard with emergency beacons.

It was after this assessment that he heard groaning coming from the back of the ship in the maintenance hatch, and that's when Khivas remembered that Rakkir had also been with them, the third man for this job. Moving to the back of the shuttle, Khivas found the red skinned man lying on his back unconscious, but thankfully not severely injured or dead as his visor and instincts told him. "Rak! Rak buddy, can you hear me?" He said to him, trying to bring him back to being fully awake, but all he could get was a stifled groan before Rakkir fell back to sleep. "Damn, well at least you're not dead. Come on, let's get you someplace safer." Said the young warrior as he lifted Rakkir up by his shoulders and dragged him back to the main cargo space of the shuttle, lying him down next to Korra.

"Well...Damn." Khivas said as he looked back at the unconscious padawans and put on his helmet. He was going to have to get to work soon with or without his partner and trainee if they all wanted to get home alive, and he had no time to waste waiting for them to wake up.

A few days earlier

In the Rebel Dawn, Korra had informed Aura that she was going on a mission that required her to be in space. Her sister, being protective of her was quite unhappy about it. "Are they mad? You can't do that. You aren't going to do that." she stated harshly. "Sorry but it is going to happen. I wanted to tell you because I didn't want to keep it from you but it has already been decided." she stated. Aura was shocked. Never had Korra disagreed with her on anything. She had always followed Aura on all the decisions she made, always believing that Aura had the best interest for her, which she did. "What?" she stated. Aura looked at Korra, visibly showing her anger. She then nodded, showing that she agreed for Korra to go for the mission. This won't happen again she thought.

The mission was simple. Go to some mining facility and scout it out to see if it would be useful as a future home for the Jedi. With Naboo gone, this mission was supposed to help the Jedi, and Korra was proud to take it. The unthinkable then happened. The ship they were one crashed and soon both of them were unconsious. Luckily for both of them, Khivas had been the first to wake up, and the life support systems were on. The force truly wanted to protect them.

For most of the time, Korra was unconscious. After a while, she woke up, finding herself still strapped to the belt on the sit of the shuttle. "What the kriff happened?" she asked, not knowing what was going on. This certainly was something she did not except. It seemed that they were in a dangerous situation. With the power systems offline, Korra and Khivas were as good as dead. After all, the life support systems could only hold for a little while. "You got any ideas as two how to get out of this mess?" she asked. Korra didn't have any training outside of the force. She therefore wasn't capable of helping in the situation so all she could do was rely on Khivas, something she hated.

Simple missions, simple missions always had a way of making Rakkir ' life a living hell. All the three of them were supposed to do was investigate a mining facility but no, something had to go horribly wrong. Now Rakkir lay there unconscious lost in his own mind. Flashes of what had happened skipping through his mind in flashes each one triggering a new one in a ripple effect like a rock thrown across water. The ships controls had malfunctuoned and it took everything Khivas had to bring it down without them exploding. He would have to thank him for that eventually, just not right away, first he would scold him then, maybe.

After a while and a few slaps from Khivas, Rakkir finally came too. Without missing a beat and almost involuntarily Rakkir blurted out a question he kind of knew the answer to "What the hell happened? " It was right after he remembered that another padawan was with them and he quickly began searching for her but to his relief she was already up and moving. At least they wouldn't have that unthinkable possibility on their conscience.

Rakkir brought himself to his feet from the spot where he must have been layed. It was too safe and careful to be the result of the impact. "Khivas, next time I'm driving you were obviously drunk" he said trying to throw his bad idea of humor in this otherwise dismal situation. "What is the status of the systems my friend? Just how much does the force love us this time?" He said in a semi sarcastic tone.

{OOC: Korra was already freed from the harness and laid on the floor. If that's against your wishes, simply let me know and I'll edit it out.}

As Khivas got his gear on and prepped to exit the shuttle, the other two who had been with him finally woke up. Korra was first to stir, asking just what the hell had happened, followed shortly by Rakkir asking the same thing, and using his forever badly timed humor to try and lighten the situation. Khivas answered them both with "The shuttle went down, something in the controls malfunctioned severely, causing the shuttle's flight trajectory to go haywire. Guys were lucky I was able to prevent it from turning us into a giant fireball in space." Before moving to the shuttles exit hatch. "As for the Force, well, let's just it decided to give us a pop quiz where our lives depend on us passing it." He said to Rakkir, answering his badly timed humor with his own poorly contrived comparisons.

Grabbing the emergency toolkit, the man turned to the others and said "I'm going to head out and check to see the damage to the craft from there. Rakkir, if you can do something about the inside here, check the connections for the power supply, make sure they're secure. First order of business should be to get the life support systems full power so we won't run out within the hour. Korra, see if you can try and get our distress beacon working again. Oh, and keep calm of course, can't afford to waste oxygen on panicked breathes." Khivas said as he stepped into the small square that would normally allow for ship to ship docking, but in this case be used to leave the shuttle without decompressing and violently killing his compatriots, Khivas stepped out into the cold of space, a whopping thirty and some change minutes at best of air that his micro-rebreather allowed him to perform a quick scan and work on fixing the shuttle as best he could.

From outside the damage was more apparent: The craft had hit the rock hard, skidding and dragging across the jagged surface, slicing apart the hull of the craft but not penetrating it fully, thus explaining the oxygen still present within but the loss of power to the systems as several of the connections from the engine and batteries were severed indefinitely, and no amount of repair would get this bird flying again. However there was enough raw material around to develop a makeshift connection from the engine, battery, and to the shuttles primary computer and thus the life support systems and delay their deaths for a little while longer.

The process itself took roughly ten minutes altogether, and opening up his comms, Khivas would warn Rakkir that he was about to turn on the power, and just like that with a final shock and spark, the lights that were once dim on one half of the shuttle suddenly burned to life and were bright against the landscape of the floating rock. "There we go." Khivas said with a smile. "Korra, you read me kiddo? The power should be back on and cool air should be pouring back in there. If it is, how is it, like does it smell funny, feel warmer than it should, smoke?" He asked to the younger Padawan inside, knowing Rakkir would be head-deep in the shuttle's panels, making sure everything was connected and a fire wasn't starting thanks to Khivas plugging something in.
