I’m here again, what this desolated land has with me? Cross thought. That was his second time in Tattoine, foremost he went there to get lightsaber parts to the order, however now his mission was a little different, he should go to Most Eisley and there he should investigate a criminal case, together with his fellow partner Cotan. They arrived in a freighter that was used for civilian transport. Cross was wearing common clothes, with a cloak to cover his lightsaber in his hip, because he knew that inhospitable land, as well as which kind of enemies he could find if they discover that a pair of Jedi arrived there.

Walking out the starport, they moved to a place that appeared to be isolated, where he could talk with his partner about this mission. Cotan, was a man that he already met in many trainings and classes, but that was their first time together in a real mission. They were just Padawans, yet good ones.

Finding an alley which was covered with crates and barrels, Cross looked to Cotan and said “I think that this place is secure, I don’t feel any dangerous presence here…” while he was checking their surroundings “So, all what we know is just that someone is messing the merchants of Most Eisley, and at first the principal suspect is a Cathar, so maybe we should discover which merchants were injured by this burglar, tracing his possible zone of action.” Cross had already worked as a lieutenant in his homeland and one of his tasks was investigate criminal cases, therefore he was extremely glad to give his knowledge and efforts to the Order, even not knowing why they sent him there, maybe that was just another criminal case, maybe something bigger.

Then looking to Cotan again, after a little pause he completed “For sure, any grand merchant of this city may know about the rumors of this criminal, however I’d like to hear your thoughts on this my fellow what’s your suggestion and plans on this matter?”

"We need information, plain and simple," was Cotan's reply. He looked about the alley - no souls were present, not even within the Force; and for his clothing, he wore what he usually wore on a mission like this - the old travelling robes of your average salvager. His lightsaber was hidden within those - there if he needed it - while at his belt hung a simple taskmaster blaster pistol. The temple armoury had had a couple, and he knew that he would find no better self-defence weapon sooner.

"We don't know - for sure - if this burglar is male or female, nor are we absolutely sure they're a Cathar...And we need to see if we can put a pattern behind their attacks, see if there are specific materials being taken each time. If we can find a correlation between the thefts, then we can likely figure out what the next target will be."

Tatooine was hot. It wasn't a heavy heat, it was more like walking into a blast furnace with nothing but a pair of sunglasses on. Fortunately the heat meant that headgear and loose, nondescript clothing was extremely common. For someone wanting to keep their face hidden, Tatooine was one of the places where nobody gave you a second look. The Cathar smiled to herself as she sipped a cactus water, some local "delicacy" that looked alcoholic but disappointingly wasn't. Not that she needed, or wanted, to be intoxicated. It was almost at the busiest time of the day for merchants, which meant she would have plenty of distractions to exploit. And for that, she needed her fine motor skills to be at their best. She stretched her legs and stood up, tossing a couple cred-chits onto the table.

Who would she hit today, she wondered. Perhaps the Duro mechanic, she had noticed the jawas trading with him yesterday. A more likely target however was the exotic hunting store. She doubted the claims of a blaster strong enough to take out a krayt dragon, but she knew the man had some questionably legal pieces in the back. Not that there was much law enforcement here at any rate. Kayra pulled her hood up as she left the cantina, shielding her eyes from the unrelenting suns. Today might just be the day she got that one in a million item.

That was a high city with a lot of ground to search and investigate, and the only thing that they knew was the location of the stolen merchants. Cross traced a perimeter where the suspect worked; there were at least four great merchants that could definitively give an interview about what happened, with that information they probably would have some vital data, from where they could establish the next steps.

Cross explained his plan “You’re right Cotan, so I think that our next step is interview the victims and gather all data that we can. However I think that we should work separately on this first part of our mission, talking with as many victims that we can, then at the end of this day we can meet again and gather all what we got, and resolve what we will do next, as well as identify the presumable next victims. So I’ll be with the north part of the perimeter and you with the south part.”

Walking further Cross nodded to Cotan and said “Let’s meet again here at 7pm, so be careful, partner. May the Force be with you” that was his last words to his mission partner, they had few time, and the burglar certainly was planning his next attack.

Cross looked in his datapad the city map, identifying which are the best routes that he should take, where he could optimize his time. After, Cross went in a public transport, going to his first interview. After talking with three uncooperative merchants, fearing for their lives, Cross headed to meet the fourth merchant, known as ‘Hammer’, which was a general store dealer. In few minutes Cross was there, walking toward the store entrance. However the said ‘general store’ was more like a ‘scrap store’. There were speeder’s parts, ship’s parts, furniture, bottles and even guns.

Hammer was standing in the back, handling some pieces, when he noted Cross arrival, promptly said “Oh good customer, what I can do for you? You can have sure that I have anything that you need, please come in!”

Cross looking to Hammer said “Thanks, but unfortunately I’m not buying today, maybe next day. But I’m here to help you” when Cross said that, Hammer don’t waited for the end of the speak “Help me? How? You want a job?”

“No, no. Let me explain” Cross said with a short smile “You has been robbed few days ago, and I’m hunting this burglar. So if you help me, I can give to you what he stole from you, of course if it still with him, as well as return the quietness to you. What you say?”

The dealer thought for few instants after saying “Done, I’ll tell what happened, but make sure in bring to me my beloved DL-44 back!” Hammer was emotionally linked with his gun, which has been stolen by the burglar “I need it back, so I will help. I saw when the thief invaded my store, was at night, and he was cloaked, I could not see his face, but he seemed a cat alien. Damn, he was very fast and agile, I could not take him, so he escaped with my precious gun” when Hammer said that, a tear almost fell from his eyes “Please help me bounty hunter, save my gun!”

Cross noted that Hammer was really sad about his gun, and then he said “OK, I’ll find him and discover what he did with your gun” he said while was walking toward the exit ‘So he act by night and his principal target is: guns’. Cross finished his interviews, and then he just needed wait Cotan in the meeting point and report what he found.
