Personality:
Free spirited, hard headed, yet dedicated to the Jedi beliefs. Kael has an independent streak that mainly results from his days as a smuggler but he is very caring and well liked by those who know him. People who don't know him well may think he is standoffish but that is because they havent earned his trust. Once a person earns Kael's trust he will put his life on the line for them.
Strengths and weaknesses:
Kael is one of the first Jedi in the order to perfect a deadly style of using two sabers and is widely considered one of the best saber combatants around. His dedication to conditioning is a major part of another strength of his, his physical health is well above that of most people. However, Kael can be a bit hard-headed and is adamant about his beliefs and that is one weakness. Another is his loyalty to people he trusts since that can be taken advantage of. However, Kael is very astute and knows when someone is being decietful.

History:
Kael was an orphan raised by one of the wealthiest families on Corellia. He lived in the lap of luxury for all of his childhood. He had everything anyone could possibly want. However, he was never told that he was adopted by his parents. He lived in ignorant bliss with no knowledge of major galactic events.
When he was 15, he discovered that he was adopted. In a fit of anger he left his house and set out for the starport. There he met up with a old grisly smuggler who took the teen and trained him in the ways of the smuggler. Soon he became one of the best smugglers in the business. He had trouble growing accustomed to not having everything prepared for him and given to him. Kael learned how to be a hard worker and he gained a whole new outlook on life. He purchased a new Corellian cargo ship he named the Shadow Chaserand made extensive modifications. With the purchase of his own ship Kael broke the bonds with his former mentor.
When Kael was 20 he made a delivery run to a Jedi Enclave, a Jedi master found the smuggler to be very interesting. He brought the young man in for training and discovered that he was strong in the force. Considered by many of the Masters to be too old for training he went without a Master for quite some time. However, the Master who originally discovered him took him on after his Padawan had been promoted. After some training he quickly moved up through the ranks of the Jedi becoming a Jedi Master by his 25th birthday.
Kael had gone from smuggler to one of the youngest Jedi Masters in history in 5 short years. His drive to succeed and survive was a main part of his quick success. Kael became a favorite of the Jedi Council for difficult missions because of his headstrong nature but his adherance to the code.
By his 30th birthday Kael was appointed to the Jedi Council. After achieving this prestigous honor, Kael doubled his workload and continued to run missions as if he was not on the council. After a few years Kael became a senior member of the Council after resolving a confilct on Kalena Prime that saved the planet from warring factions. The two factions each held weapons of mass destruction that threatened to destroy the planet. Kael's negotiation skills helped defuse the two hotheaded sides. After becoming a Senior Member of the Council, Kael become privy to the secret the Jedi Council held about the Sith. The information could be the dangerous to the entire galaxy...
With the recent deployment of a killer virus on Coruscant, Kael helped direct the Jedi effort to defend the Temple. He evacuated after he saw that, in accordance with rules prior councils had passed, in order for the order to maintain leadership, Kael had to evacuate. Kael and the other Jedi Masters on the council are in the process of finding a temporary location to make the base of Jedi operations.
