DESCRIPTION:
The J0-LT stun-blaster-pistol-thing is a state-of-the-art weapon fitting for those looking to tame either a rabid drunkard or a skilled mercenary. With plasma-based stun rounds and a thin remote electroshock net launcher at the bottom, this blaster is unparalleled in its field when it comes to not insta-killing an opponent. To use the net, one must flick a switch to enable discharge, and angle the weapon appropriately and in direction to the target. Since the net is only one meter in length and height, and takes extraneous time to reload (thirty seconds to load, hour to charge), one must be extremely accurate.
When it comes to armor, the net is akin to a stun bolt (i.e. "bleed-through effect") which can cause pain and muscle spasms, and as metal is conductive, if on a certain armor long enough (i.e. twelve seconds for heavy armor), it may knock out an opponent. Of course, as armored foes can easily cut it through with a simple vibroknife or saber in moments, the net acts as more of a distraction if anything. As for stun bolts, range and ammo capacity are slightly diminished for the sake of the electroshock net.
INTENT:
This weapon is a dual function pistol perfect for those looking to avoid accidentally blowing off someone's head. As its main purpose is only to subdue or capture, I am hoping to introduce a tool that won't end in both 1) a whiny character death and 2) an efficient way to avoid dirtying that brand new carpet. This is likewise for my ever-loving-pacifist, Adrian, in case he ever gets caught up in a battle.
