NAME: Isaac of Inok

FACTION: Jedi Order

RANK: Jedi Hopeful

SPECIES: Human

AGE: 53

GENDER: Male

HEIGHT: 188 cm / 6'2

WEIGHT: 86 kg / 190 lbs

FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes. Formal Training.

APPEARANCE:

Dark haired (shoulder length, often tied back). Tan skin, and a golden ring in either ear. Bearded, with greying temples and a noble bearing. A prominent hawkish nose, a wrinkled forehead, pronounced cheekbones over gaunt cheeks, and a low brow shading thin dark eyes, giving him a grave resting expression. A mature, yet powerful body, like an old predatory cat, a body of strength and endurance over tone of muscle, balanced with a healthy bit of fat.

ATTRIBUTES:

A warrior first and foremost. A powerful body of strength and endurance. It has been honed since youth, first as a slave, then as a warrior of the Sith. It becomes more difficult to maintain this strength with age, but through discipline and perhaps the Force, he remains as strong as ever. However, though strong he may be, and though perhaps able to withstand a decent measure of pain, he well beyond his prime and his body is growing old. He no longer recovers as he did in his youth, he no longer has the stamina for prolonged exertion, and his body has become more prone to difficulties and complications. His heart can't always keep up with his body as it used to, and may cause complications or give out all together under prolonged stress.

Partly due to his growing weakness, and partly due to changes over time in personal philosophy, violence is always secondary, leading instead with dialogue and diplomacy, and avoiding conflict wherever possible. Courtesy, respect, etiquette, and rhetoric are his primary weapons against the forces of darkness in this world.

(Totally willing to tone down his physical prowess if this is too much. Can move him down to 160 lbs to make him more average and keep the health/age issues. Tried to balance it with the "candle that burns twice as bright, burns half as long" idea.)

PERSONALITY:

A servant, first and foremost. His loyalties lie with the greater galaxy and all of its people. He is a monk, an ascetic warrior, and a thinker. He is reserved and respectful, always courteous and polite. Often serious, or even stern and grim. He believes zealously in the good of all beings and in the sacredness of life, though he will do without hesitation what must be done for the greater good.

BIOGRAPHY:

I began this life as a slave, half a century ago, on the world of Jedha. My masters were servants of the dark side. Sith, protecting this old and holy world, scouring it for relics of a long dead order. They were not always one in purpose. Some sought to zealously burn, destroy, and stamp out every last reminder of the old Jedi. Others wanted this knowledge and power preserved and studied. I was too young and naïve to understand the malice of my masters, the darkness that surrounded them, or the cruelty of my place in it all. These Sith were not only my masters, but my family, the other slaves my brothers and sisters, and the monks of NiJedha aunts and uncles.

The ones who may have called me a son, and brought me to this distant, forgotten world, I did not know. Nor did I care. Perhaps I was born of NiJedha, sold for food or passage, though if so, it was never revealed. The man who most closely resembled a father to me was a monk called Inok. My first memories are of the monks, and of Inok telling me stories and legends of the greater galaxy. Stories, often attributed to the Sith, of Heroes, wise masters of the Force, and protectors of the galaxy. I am unsure what arrangement may have existed between these monks and my masters, but I remember myself and the other slaves being cared for by them while we served the Sith.

When there was nothing to do, or when one the slaves required punishment, if our masters were in a sour mood, we would be sent to work in the kyber mines. The Sith spoke of the Jedi who once called Jedha home, as tyrants and manipulators, it was the Sith who freed the galaxy from their reign. I had no real reason to doubt them. I looked up to my masters. I trusted them. Some were zealous, even harsh, but I never saw my masters as evil.

The Force was always a part of my life, and as I grew older, it became clear that it was not destined to remain a slave. My masters recognized my sensitivity to the Force, and I was taken under their wings. I began my study and training in the ways of the Force and the blade at the age of thirteen. I was inducted into the religion of my masters and given a new name. For three years I trained and studied with my masters on Jedha, before being sent away to Korriban.

I had never left my home before, it was difficult. Naturally, I wondered at the stars and dreamed as all youths do, but my old masters never could have prepared me for the sudden change of pace when I arrived at Korriban. I was a slave no longer, the Force had freed me. I spent many years across many worlds earning a reputation as a warrior. Perhaps I did not fully realize it, but somewhere in my heart I was living the ancient legends and stories that my father Inok and the monks of NiJedha had engrained in me.

As I matured, I began to see how the Force corrupted and destroyed. I became disillusioned to the dark power of the Sith. Only in my early youth had I plunged so confidently into the dark, for it's promises of strength and power. I found myself abandoning the Old Sith, eventually settling on Alderaan where I found a master and became involved in politics. Alderaan is where the majority of my life was spent, it became home to me.

When the Civil War broke out, I was a fierce defender of the Imperial Republica. I believed in it. I believed in what it could become. But it would not come to pass. The Imperial Republica fell to the Old Sith, and I fled the Empire. I remained in hermitage for some time, until the rumors began. When I first heard the rumors of the emergence of the Jedi, I did not believe them. But when it became evident the Jedi had indeed returned, and they revealed themselves to a stunned galaxy, I saw no choice but to seek them out and find refuge, and the truth, in the ancient order among whose ruins I had been raised. It was no easy task finding them, but when I heard the Jedi reclaimed Jedha... There are no words for what I felt, but I have since returned to my homeworld. I offered myself into service with the Jedi there, but so far they have not accepted me, and with fair reason. My father, the monk, has long since passed. For some reason, I truly believed I would see him again. But the Force has led me here, and now I must be worthy. Worthy of the Jedi, worthy of Inok.

SKILLS:

He is skilled first and foremost in melee combat, specifically with a lightsaber. Followed by diplomacy and etiquette, with a minor understanding of many cultures and languages (simple greetings and thanks), more from experience than study. Other than basic, he is fluent only in the language of the Sith. His abilities with the force are more or less at the basic level of a Sith Acolyte or Jedi Padawan, having focused most of his energy over the years on the lightsaber and other disciplines.

GEAR:

Lightsaber (white) - A blade he has carried since his days as a Sith. After committing to leaving the Sith and becoming a Jedi, he spent time focusing with the Force to remove the dark side corruption from its crystal, causing the color to change from red to white.

Isaac's Armor - Recieved as a gift for his service to Alderaan.

Vibroblade - A simple vibrosword of Alderaanian make, gifted to him along with his armor. It is worn at his hip.

Unfortunately, there was a huge PR campaign by the Sith to wipe out the Jedi and if the monks were so favorable of the Jedi and openly sent people to the Sith for training then the story would surely make it to the Sith and the monks would be wiped out in no time. Basically, any and all open support of the Jedi was prohibited and non-existent.

Also, as the Jedi have only recently revealed themselves he would have arrived on Jedha very recently. Tagging @GABA for her opinion on approving a former Sith to join the Order or if she would like for the recruitment and vetting process to be RP'd out.

So in this case, I would want you to start as a Jedi Hopeful and complete 2 threads with experienced padawans or Knights before applying for padawan just so ICly, everyone can feel more comfortable.

UPDATE: Removed any reference of the Jedi from the monks' stories, and changed rank to Jedi Hopeful. Also added a note in last paragraph of bio, clarifying that he was in hermitage until the jedi were revealed, only just recently returning to Jedha.

I actually like that idea a lot, it makes sense and sounds a bit more fun to have to earn it.

I'll take a look in a bit, but might be best to not begin RPing with Sith if you want the Jedi to trust this character.
