A repair and refit portion of the Drive Yards is the target. The current ships there are sitting ducks. Take any forces that you have been awarded. There will likely be small craft patrols and even fleet reinforcements nearby that may choose to respond quickly so this strike has to be done quickly and efficiently.

Both of Koil's hands were grasping the railing in front of him. He stared out of the capital ship's viewport. The dark visor of his beviinir armor reflecting the light that in turn had been reflected off the surface of the planet. Kuat sat before him and around its equator was a a large ring that ran all the way around the celestial body. It was a marvel of civilization, and today those under his command and he himself would be wrecking havoc on it. They had not exited hyperspace within range of the ring. He wanted to make sure that the Imperials saw them coming. They would be upon the facilities soon enough anyways. Perhaps it would even distract from other areas of the planet.

His ship, Solus'Beviin, a Shakalir class cruiser, was one of the first of its kind to be commissioned from Contruum's shipyards. Along side it were two Kranak class frigates. Further in front of the three larger ship-of-the-line vessels were three canopy class corvettes. By the War Councilor's orders each of the shuttles on every ship had been replaced with vxn series dropships.

Not only was this the first engagement for the Shakalir class heavy cruiser but also for the shiv chekar class starfighters that were the main compliment of each capital ship. Half of the Kranak frigates' starfighter compliments were muunbajir class starbombers. This strike force was specifically designed for this sort of operation. Koil and other members of Mandalorian leadership had been designing these vessels for months and now it was time to show just what they were capable of.

Koil was feeling good about this. He felt the odds were in the Mandalorians' favor. His flotilla was not enough to stand up against a sizable Imperial Fleet but that was why his target was the sitting ducks in the main repair yard. Fast responders would result in the reinforcements likely arriving. But even if they did not take Kuat today, following weeks and months would make this no longer a place for the Imperial Fleet to conduct refit and maintenance. Their supplies would be diverted and movements forced to alter. That was the worst case scenario. The Silent Badger was completely intent on taking Kuat today so long as the Hod Ha'ran did not play any tricks on them.

"Keep those scanners active. I want to know the moment we see possible enemy contacts. Go easy on the engines. We'll get there soon enough. Commence small craft launch when we are three kilometers out." He received confirmations from his subordinates. Ask the Echani where he would be ten years ago and he would definitely not have said standing on the bridge of a fleet under his command. The crew were well trained and responsive. The moment enemy craft, so much as a light freighter entered outer Kuat space, he would know about it.

So much for shunning responsibility. It seemed that the more he pushed it away the more he got it. This was what the Mandalorian people needed. This was what the Mand'alor needed. It was what the Sith Empire deserved. His only regret was not bringing more. Ideally after all of this he would get to join his brother's in storming the rest of the ring and plummet to the surface on his basilisk's back. Perhaps there would be some resistance and he would even get to engage in some dogfights on his Klaw. That was a more personal desire though.

Inside one of Silent Badger's hangars was Rud "Badger Three" Solus. The cripple, for he missed everything from the knee down on both legs, sat neither comfortably nor uncomfortably in his MM11 Shiv/Chekar-class starfighter as he waited for the green light from the cruiser's command center. He was a supercommando by rank and one of the first badgers who had followed the future Mand'Alor into hostilities towards the Empire. It had been the right thing to do, that much had always been clear, but Rud had felt the burden of inflicted suffering moreso than others and after losing his legs to a Sith Master he had been unable to share as much in his clan's notoriety as he had perhaps wanted.

Finally this was changing and after the success of Corellia, an assault he had planned, Rud was beginning to get a grip on his place in this war again. Due to his injuries that grip was to be had in the art of naval combat and he knew that if he could distinguish himself here today a command of a dozen starfighters would soon follow.

Somewhat anxious, the human looked at the red light above the hangar doors. His fighters was fueled up, stocked and in his capable hands it could become a true instrument that brings destruction to the Imperial war machine. But for that to happen.. for Rud to reclaim his worth to the marshals, he needed that kriffing light to turn green.

Ilyra had to admit that she was getting rather used to fighting Mandalorians over shipyard worlds but she was also going to be the first to admit that she really didn't like that she was getting used to it in the first place. She was sick of it, truth be told, but there wasn't much she could really do except just get stuck in.

So here she was.

The defenses of Kuat had been mobilized and the enemy wasn't hiding - it was out and it was time for destruction.

She gripped the controls of her fighter tightly as she sped across the void towards the main ship of the Mandalorian advance, a cruiser. As ships from the Kuati Defense Fleet mobilized to combat some of the other ships, Ilyra focused on the cruiser itself. She prepped one of her missiles for launch and held her thubs over the firing stud as she rocketed forwards at the side of the ship, aiming for it's hanger bay.

Her little ship wasn't intimidating but it was quick as a viper if not quicker and she was going to be hoping that would win her the day. With all of the confusion and the speed of her ship, the relatively short distance was already disappearing rapidly.

"Refried Mynock on a stick..." Quil cursed under his breath as a Mandalorian flotilla dropped out of hyperspace practically right on top of him. Half of Dagger flight was out on a long range security patrol on the fringes of the Kuat system, testing out some of the refits and upgrades they'd had installed after that scrap with the Alliance. What a run of luck, he thought- two boring patrol flights in a row and he stumbles into enemy ambushes with the odds stacked heavily against him. The fighter jockeys mind raced as he tried to figure out what to do and what orders to give his flight as the massive Mandalorians capital ship loomed over him, barely a kilometer away. What to do, what to do, what to do...?

In a flash of inspiration, Quil remembered something his father had told him when he was little: "Quil, when those backrocket brats corner you in the market to shake you down for your last wuipiupi, here's what I want you to do- find the biggest, ugliest, meanest looking one in the bunch, walk right up to him, chest out, head held high... and kick him in the nads... or, whatever looks like they might be nads. I dunno. Fetch me another lomin ale, boy."

Even as the Mandalorian commander started issuing orders to his crew to begin scanning (unbeknownst to the Imperial), Quil angled his Vexatious right at the belly of the beast, flipped the toggle to activate his fancy new sublight booster, and redlined the throttle.

"DAGGER FLIGHT BREAK BREAK BREAK!!! ENGAGE AT WILL!!! KOWAKIAN GAMBIT!!!"

He shouted into the comms. It would be a few minutes before the shipyards could scramble defenses from other patrol sectors and release the ships in dry dock. Until then, the small fighter group way out here would be on their own.

At max speed, Quils fighter was a grey blur in the blackness as he set his sights on the hulking cruiser, locking onto his target and hovering his fingers over his weapon controls. His fighters weapons would take all day to wear down the big bastards shields, but at this speed he would be inside the shield bubble in mere moments, hopefully before the gunnery stations could even swing around to target him and before the ships fighter complement could launch- Quil didnt see any out here yet- and inside that shield bubble all bets were off. He'd get one good pass before the enemy could fully react, and he'd have to make the most of it.

Pings hit the scanners of the cruiser along with the other ships in the flotilla. With information relayed to Koil like he was the brain and the scanners were his senses, he was quickly informed of the fast approaching small crafts. He knew before he could give an order worth saying to counter the small vessel it probably would be too late for his words to effect the gunner teams. They knew to shoot down any approaching foreign craft. As the vexatious approaching from the keel or ventral side of the cruiser the medium turrets swiveled and began opening fire. Four out of the five dual medium laser cannon turrets all fixed on the single ship.

"Raise shields. Rearmost medium turrets overlap hangar approach. Get a lock with tractor beams on any enemy small craft." He coolly told the deck warriors which promptly complied. That way if the close-in boosted starfighter tried to get too close to the hangar it would have to contend with at least two medium laser turrets dedicated to aiming in a select field of prepared fire. Matching the overlaping dual medium turreets were two tractor beam projectors.

The rest of the cruiser's medium laser cannons would track and traverse as best they could the interceptor, adjusting and holding fire to not damage one another or if the starfighter moved to a different side of the large vessel. They were not as fast as light laser cannon turrets but the shear number of them would possibly land a hit if the pilot chose to slow down but at the moment with its booster running and the proximity they would not be likely to hit though that did not stop them from trying. At least it would keep him from making a decent attack run on anything that mattered. If he moved away then that would just give more chance for the turrets to hit.

While one starfighter was up against the cruiser the approaching green vexatious would have all the facing heavy laser cannons face it. "Heavy batteries on that craft." He had said immediatly after that. It had nearly a kilometer of the void to cross which while it was a long distance would also allow the cruiser's heavy cannons to still make it think twice. It was overkill and they had slower tracking speed than even the medium laser turrets but they were already facing in a bristled spike manner.

Furthermore it would actually be in his, or her, best interest to perform such a maneuver and use that speed to its advantage. It would be harder for the turret to track with a target running across its field of view where as something coming right at them would be far easier.

Rud heard the chatter first, <<hostiles on approach>> and <<He's boosting through!>> before the lights above the hangar doors finally turned green and the shield went down, prompting the invalid supercommando to initiate take-off and shoot his MM11 Shiv/Chekar-class starfighter out of the hangar and into the space between the cruiser and its particle shield. He wasn't the only Mandalorian starfighter leaving the hangar, but for all intents and purposes he was the only one of those starfighters that Vexatious-class starfighter piloted by Quil Satorian (@Loco) would have to worry about.

The second Rud was clear of the hangar doors he engaged his deflector screen to protect him against enemy fire and put his fighter in an almost vertical nose dive, assuring that the Imperial pilot that had breached the cruiser's particle shield had no line of sight of him unless he shot down his boost and maneuvered downwards as well.

The moment Rud was confident he wasn't in the Imperial pilot's line of sight and thus couldn't effectively be fired upon, he pulled his fighter upwards in his opponent's direction to engage the automated lock-on that he needed for a successful missile hit. At the same time he fired once with both his medium lasercannons based on the Imperial starfighter's current course and speed. To create more time for himself, a better shot and a large maneuverability in case it was needed, he moved at only 60 MGLT,.

His sensors picked up the other imperials fighters as well and while they may not be in his line of sight, he was aware of their positions relative to his own. This was going to be a more risky fight than he had ever had, especially considering you couldn't just throw a grenade around a corner or hide behind cover. This was just you, your bird and your natural ability. Kriff - Rud hadn't felt his alive in years.

Quil had gotten the drop on them. By the time Koil started issuing orders to his crew, the Imperial was already passing through the big ships shields. He immediately opened fire on the cruisers nearest and most ventral medium cannon, and held down the trigger as he strafed fire across the hull and onto a second cannon nearer the starboard flank.

Quil also started evasive manuvers almost immediately to avoid the guns he saw coming to bear on him and the tractor beam operators trying to grab hold of him- those things were made for loading cargo and trapping ships much bigger than his Vexatious. Quil veered sharply and buzzed along the cruisers hull toward the starboard flank, in effort to limit the number of turrets who could target him at any given time. Ahead, Quil saw a starfighter break free from the port side hanger and start to dive. From his position traveling along the hull toward that side, he angled his nose down a tad to take two pairs of pot shots at the Mandalorian and along his flight path. Although the enemies cold start from a hangar and relatively low speed made him an easy target, Quils forward momentum meant he wouldn't get many shots before the fighter was out of his firing arc and trying to loop back behind him.

Shooting past the escaped fighter, he would would cut his booster as he pulled a high G vertical loop and barrel roll wide of the cruiser that would bring him up and around to the ships dorsal side, going back to hugging its hull tightly, but not before he loosed off a quick missile shot at the port side hangar and tractor beam. This sort of maneuvering minimized the number of turrets that could target him at any one time, whether it was for risk of hitting each other or because he was outside of their firing arc. The two turrets that had been ordered to overlap the hangar wouldn't get a chance to sight him in due his edging off to target the fighter and coming a bit wider than expected, leaving the fire from the few remaining turrets and tractors easy to dodge through by juking around on his present path. Quils quick manuever coming around to the cruisers top side meant the enemy fighter would also momentarily lose the missile lock that his control panel had begun screeching about and wouldn't have enough time to target him effectively with lasers either due to his trying to manuver around on the imperial at less than half Quils speed- far too slow for effective dog fighting. The shots would fly well behind him as the enemy fighter tried to latch on to his tail.

Quil was prepared for the possibility that the topside turrets were already preparing for him, but guns on a ship this big could only track so fast and he had several defensive maneuver options to choose from depending on the turrets fire and the fighter giving chase to him.

Moving at such a high rate of speed this close in would not be sustainable this close in, Quil knew. He'd used speed to gain the element of surprise for that first pass, but now that was gone, his speed was less useful, and it would be a careful game of space chess to dance across the cruisers hull, avoid cannon fire, and also potentially dog fight the escaped enemy fighter that was trying to get on his tail- the real danger in this situation.

Heavy Laser Cannons were dangerous weapons - they were also slow, ponderous, things that relied on their targets not actually moving all that much or all that fast. Other capital ships were hardly going to be agile and if you missed a planet then you were in real trouble. But Pepe wasn't a capital ship and she wasn't a planet either. She was a deadly fast little karker with more speed to push out than any capital ship could hope to match and the ability to use that speed with some nifty feats.

The first salvo might as well have been in slow motion compared to the fire from a dogfight that Pepe was designed to fight in. Pushing forwards, Ilyra spun to the left in a controlled manner, rolling diagonally to her left and back to her right, zig-zagging even as she pushed forwards constantly. The first salvo missing because she was fast enough that by the time they fired, she was already closer to the cruiser. Even with them leading their shots, the type of weaponry they were firing was slow enough to give her plenty of time to react by banking to one side or lower or higher relative to the cruiser itself.

Even if one or more of the tractor beams had been attempting to grab her, they would have likewise failed to lock onto such a small and nimble target to motion.

Crossing the distance before the heavy cannons could loose off more than a single full salvo, she pressed through the envelope of the cruiser's shields and suddenly she was too close for most of the heavy cannons to get any good shots off on her without risking hitting the rest of the ship. Her little ship came in too fast and too close to be reliably targeted, flying from the port side to the starboard side to make it even harder for some of the turrets to try and get a lock.

She focused on her ally a little more as she followed behind the Mandalorian who was flying after him, keeping her speed manageable but keeping and erratic series of movements to avoid being tracked by the tractor beam generator or the cannons.

It would be like trying to snatch a tiny fly out of the air with a pair of chopsticks if she kept moving.

Getting to the cruiser had taken a little bit longer than she expected but she was still able to utilize her position, she would press the firing stud to fire a quick burst of fire (2 shots) at the relatively slow-moving Mandalorian fighter (@Ecclessey ) as it was in the middle of opening fire on her ally. At the same time, her ship focused on getting a targeting lock for her primed missile.

If the Mando managed to slip out of her sight somehow she would fire on the tractor beam emitter closest to her with the single burst (2 shots), so her first attack run would still come away with something of merit even if the fighter managed to avoid her.

The medium turrets across the ship would continue to chase and harass the small craft piloted by the Imperial Agent known as Quil. The heavy laser cannons though had such small windows that it was almost not even worth them moving to track. The damage done to the hangar was minimal but the tractor beam was out of commission by the missile shot fired by one of the starfighters. It seemed the other ship was able to avoid the hail of heavy cannon fire as well. Not surprising but not very good either. Koil gave his parameters for attack towards these nuisances. The rest of the flotilla would press on to the repair yards, pulling ahead of the slower cruiser as the capital ships never stopped moving forward at sublight speed. Giving his deck officers the needed instruction he headed towards one of the hangars to board his own craft. It was not a great distance and he would remain updated throughout the journey with a remote holo projector and datapad if need for new orders was required.

As the starfighters had moved around, going up and around the aft and port side respectively of the cruiser the turrets on the medium turret crews knew to turn and face port. Overlapping fields of fire adjusted. They had worked in combat maneuvers to know which to fire and aiming at the lead starfighter would risk hitting their own friendly. Instead they prioritized the green skinned vexatious and assist in focusing aggression. Once the starfighter passed over the edge they were able to zero in on the speed of the ship. They were coordinated and communicating with one another. The two starfighters fighting against a ship that could see in every direction so their position was never really lost by the gunner crews who had the ability to prep for their arrival. That was five individual dual medium laser cannons all facing the fast moving ship (@Ilyra Visz )

Half of the starboard and half of the port heavy laser cannons faced back outward directly away from the ship. The remaining heavy laser cannons split their attention forward and aft matching the dorsal and ventral heavy laser cannons facing forward and aft as well. If the starfighters moved away from the heavy cruiser they would become targets for the heavy weaponry but Koil predicted they would not risk it. They seemed to be here on a suicide run. That was fine by Koil.

Rud was surprised to see that the Vexatious-class fighter began to steer his ship right towards the hull of the cruiser at sublight speed. At sublight he was at an incredible speed and in his enthusiasm had apparently forgotten how difficult it would be to maneuver his ship back from a collision-course with the cruiser in the split-second it took for his subtle downwards angling of his fighter's nose to steer him significantly off course.

Rud had similar time to evade the blaster bolts and as he clearly saw them coming, performed a barrel roll in his dive that caused the two pot shots to hit the cruiser's hull.

He knew that the Imperial pilot (@Loco) would have an almost impossible task to evade the hull, especially since he angled towards the cruiser so far as to be able to fire shots at Rud's planned flight path, which would force him into a 90 degrees angle at least, and most likely crash hopelessly into the Shakalir-class cruiser before he could even disable the sublight boost and perform a stopping upwards pull in an effort to correct his colossal mistake. Still, Rud continued in his planned action and benefitted from his relatively low speed to make a sharp turn in the direction of the cruiser's bow, which put him in his position to fire the two planned shots at the Vexatious-class starfighter if the latter by miracle managed to evade crashing into the cruiser.

and if the Imperial pilot had managed to evade the hull, those two shots weren't the only ones he'd have to content with, for Rud had a lock on the tiny craft and fired a concussion missile barely a second after his initial shots, which would catch up with the enemy fast considering the missile moved faster than even a ship on sublight boost. Therefore it would reach him before Rud would lose the lock on his target.

It was right after he fired the missile that his sensors started blaring and prompted a pavlov-response from the Mandalorian. Immediately increasing to full speed and performing a barrel roll away from the ship, he was able to evade one of the two shots fired by the other Imperial (@Nefieslab), the other being caught in his shield. Rud's display immediately showed the shield to be at 80%.

There were five medium turrets on this side of the ship but as she was now only three of them were firing on her - three dual medium turrets firing on her was still a right pain in the kark though. She gritted her teeth and concentrated. She carried on after the Mandalorian fighter but she threw in some more evasive moves as she did so. Her ship wasn't going at it's max speed anymore but with the spins and juking she was having to do, it didn't matter that she was still, technically, going faster than her target because she was being 'delayed', as it were, by having to keep up evasive moves.

Thankfully she was close to the hull of the ship and her profile was small so it helped her in avoiding the fire that came her way from the turrets as she was able to use the 'terrain' of ship and keep the number of angles fire could come from low.

When he performed a barrel roll, she was right behind him, so fully able to see him doing the move so was able to follow him immediately - this move had the added benefit of helping her dodge more of the incoming fire. Turrets ahead of the Mandalorian and her flight path wouldn't risk firing when the Mandalorian was within their firing path.

As soon as they both came out of the barrel roll she launched her missile, the lock on having been confirmed prior to the move. At the same time, she aggressively pursued the Mandalorian, alternating between spinning and juking in an attempt to keep on his tail while avoiding the cruiser's fire still. She pulled the trigger on her laser cannons twice (4 shots) to keep the Mandalorian fighter contained by firing around him. They were shots quickly aimed so they weren't precise but they would still be something else to try and avoid while the missile was closing in.

She was now, however, within dogfighting distance and was matching speed with the Mandalorian fighter she was tailing even as both of them continued to actively dodge - both of them very close together now so having to dodge medium turret lasers and their own exchange.

Quil had managed to use his speed and the suddenness of his attack to dodge the cruisers cannon fire and was granted a merciful reprieve from it after the trio of fighters passed back on to the dorsal/port side of the cruiser. This was good, because he needed all of his attention to focus on defending against the Mandalorian who had escaped the hangar- the Imperials missile lock warning had never stopped bleeping at him, which meant he hadn't quiet successfully lost his pursuer.

Just before the tone turned solid to indicate an actively flying missile, Quil stomped hard on the right pedal and pulled his stick up and right to match, doing a tight half roll slightly up and toward the aft end of the Cruiser. He immediately pulled the same stunt in the opposite direction, bringing him back to face the starboard side of the cruiser, but facing slightly more to the fore now, almost right on the ships spine at this point. This sudden hard zig zag would save him from the laser shots snapped off by the Mando fighter- they would zip past his tail as he made the sudden course changes- but more importantly would cause the concussion missile on his tail to slow somewhat in order to track after him. The missiles rudimentary targeting systems could stay on a ships tail for some time, but it's guidance thrusters couldn't handle the same sharp turns that an interceptor style craft could- not at this close a range. As soon as the projectile was close enough to him, Quil pulled back on the stick as hard as he could, bringing his ship into a tight and abrupt U turn as he shot past the dorsal spine, which would face him back toward the port side of the ship. The missile would fly past him, unable to keep up with the more nimble starfighters maneuverability. It might manage to come back around, but that would take some time.

Quils topside was now facing the cruiser- in relation to the beast, he was "upside down"- and he'd shed almost half of speed with his maneuvers. He could now see in front of him though Illyra dogfighting the Mando who'd fired the missile. Rud had barrel rolled "up", which would take him away from the cruiser, and now had to contend with the green skinned Sith's missile and shots attempting to bracket him in for it. Quil took aim and fired a trio of paired shots into Ruds flight path, trying to watch for and compensate for any changes in speed or direction. With Quil firing from one direction and Illyra from another and with a missile on his tail, Rud was now stuck in a deadly crossfire and would have hard choices to make.

Quil kept an ear out for the missile that he knew was going to be making a wide loop to come back around for him, and did his best to keep an eye out for any of the cruisers cannons that tried to target him again. At least this time he could see all of them- that was the problem with dogfighting- so many things to keep track of.

Things were not going well. Koil could see that on his readout but having double timed it to the hangar he was there in a matter of moments. He would have risked flying his jetpack down the halls if it meant getting to the hangar faster to assist his fellow wingman. He knew that traveling down to the hangar would take too long to assist Rud and he needed assistance now. Ships were not designed to have direct access from the bridge to the hangar which was unfortunate in situations like this.

His ship had a built in astromech droid and would begin the startup process and be ready to go the moment he hopped in if the need arose but for now he turned around and headed back to the bridge. Until her returned the medium laser cannons across the ship continued to focus fire on the green skinned ship. Three out of the five turrets continued to shoot at Ilyra while the remaining two dorsal were able to zero in after the slowing of the other vexatious craft flown by the Imperial Agent. What was more was the slowing of Quil's ship would have the starboard tractor beam projector continuing to try and reach the ship as it had made it much easier to grab it with the deceleration for the turns. The various medium turrets were continuing to be relayed positional status of the enemy fighters and made preemptive turret rotations on approaching vectors so the moment they came into view of the starboard, port or ventral sides they would virtually have an immediate lock on their positions and open fire as well.

A flicker of his screen and a loud autmatic voice saying <<shields to fifty>> caused Rud to immediately jerk his fighter upwards into a half loop and when the enemy missile was launched, he barrel rolled again, this time towards the cruiser, forcing the missile into a turn too sharp for its programming to handle. Due to the Imperial fighter's evasive maneuvers and Rud's barrel roll, the four shots missed and the Imperial on his tail would see Rud pass him in the opposite direction before he could effectively maneuver back onto his tail.

But Rud wasn't clear of the missile yet and it seemed to catch up on him until Rud hugged the side of the cruiser and slipped tightly passed the hangar going to the ventral side. The missile, with its limited tracking and maneuvering ability slammed into the lower part of the hangar door, giving Rud a small reprieve.

Rud was on the ventral side by the time Quil could target him and if the latter fired he'd do so towards the cruiser. Inside his cockpit all kinds of alarm warnings flared on Rud's screens. A fighter wasnt used to getting its shields damaged by this much this quickly, but despite having taking a hit trying to survive while outnumbered, he'd managed to get himself a small reprieve.

Even if the Imperial fighter that had just closed to dogfighting distance was able to follow him while evading turret fire, which would considerably slow him down, it would take a while longer for him to re establich a lock, perhaps even too long as Rud wasnt planning on staying at his current flight path forever.

This begger was making her work for it, she would give him that.

Even with her continued evasive movements however, she was still fully able to see the Mandalorian pulling off his own moves to avoid the missile. While he was starting his barrel roll she expected him to go to one of the sides or up (relative to the ship below them) but instead he went up with the roll to start coming down again.

And since she was still pointed in his direction, he had never accelerated to his higher speeds, he was flying up (away from the cruiser) and then coming back down directly in front of her. She capitalized, firing two bursts of her medium lasers (4 shots) at him as he was moving down towards the hull of the ship, dipping her nose into a dive to follow him and keep him in target, following him down towards the hull before pulling up behind him as he began to skim along to hull in his attempt to fly straight over the side of the ship.

With herself behind him still, she would fire another two bursts (4 shots) at his rear if she hadn't already destroyed him with her initial attack, still swaying from side to side as she pursued, using the arced motion to keep on his tail while also avoiding the medium laser blasts still heading her way. They were becoming increasingly uncoordinated but she wasn't about to just ignore them - she just focused on making sure not to give this Mandalorian fighter a reprieve.

With how fast they were going, all of this had taken place in a matter of seconds, not moments, and she was grateful her reaction times were that of both an interceptor pilot and a trained Sith.

The Mandalorian fighter wasn't quiet where Quil had expected it to be and had started evasive maneuvers to fend off Illyra, but the Imperial reacted quickly. He reached over and flipped on his sublight booster as he rode the throttle forward, accelerating him very quickly up to two thirds of his top speed as he headed towards the Port side of the cruiser at an angle the would keep him "above" Rud and Illyra. Almost as quickly, he deactivated the unit again- he only needed a quick boost to jolt back up to combat speed. The sudden acceleration would disrupt the targetting ability of the cannons that had started to swing around on him and keep him our of easy view of the starboard tractor beam before it could get a lock on him. Quil started a sharp dive down, relative to the cruiser, and laser fire would burn through the space he'd been a moment ago. Since Rud had never changed speeds and was still coasting along at a rather leisurely 60mglt, Quil estimated, the vexatious fighter had closed the gap very quickly. Quil would be looking right down at the top of Ruds fighter as he tried to make it around to the ventral side of the cruiser, and he snapped off two more bursts of laser fire (four shots) right into Ruds path. While spinning was indeed a good trick, the Mandalorian pilot was performing very little in the way of actual evasive maneuvers- he was flying in long straight lines, and at a rather low speed, leaving him incredibly open to the interrupting fire of the two imperials.

Whether his attack worked or not, Quil would press on. The concussion missile still tracking him had finished its wide loop and was coming for him once again. Noting that the Mandalorian fighter had made a smart move in his escape attempt, Quil pretty much copied him, letting his dive shoot him just past the port edge of the cruiser before turning his fighter sharply toward the fore end of the big ship. The missile wouldn't be able to compete with the sudden maneuver and would clip the cruisers hull, exploding but causing minimal damage. Quil then hugged the cruisers port side as tightly as he dared, sticking to the dozen or so meters of gap between the upper and lower decks in order to thwart the dorsal and ventral cannons from targeting him easily. The heavy cannons loomed out of the hull ahead of him like big black spikes- intimidating to look at, but mostly harmless to him unless he did something incredibly stupid. Quil would dance over and other them- the gunners would be able to look out their viewports and practically trade rude hand gestures with him as he conducted his fly by.
