Ploo II was a truly dismal posting for a journalist. The most newsworthy things that tended to happen there were the annual Glymph Pie Baking Contest and an occasional technological innovation in the agricultural wind power sphere. Junior Reporter Yoo-Yuk of the Coruscant News Network had been cursing the galaxy for forcing him in this posting for the better part of two years now. If he had to write one more story about another farm tax, he would lose his mind.
That had been before. Once Dusty Daytonus, the former swoop racing champion had become governor, Yoo-Yuk had certainly stopped being bored. In fact, he found himself desperately wishing for another reporter or, at the very least, a reporter. There were simply too many events happening for one Gran to handle on his own. For starters, Dusty was widely believed to be in cahoots with the Cartel. As juicy of a story as that would be on its own, that was nothing compared to Governor Daytonus' sudden purchasing of a platoon of AT-RT walkers. Midway through that story, Yoo-Yuk had to switch focus entirely when the Glymphid Governor actually went as far as launching an invasion of the hated Fluggrian homeworld of Ploo IV. And now, they had actually won.
Yoo-Yuk stood amidst the debris and remnants of a fierce battle, his microphone held firmly in his trembling hands. The once peaceful landscape of Ploo IV was now scarred by the aftermath of the conflict, evidence of the Glymphid invasion that had taken place. Smoke billowed from ruined structures, and the air carried the acrid scent of destruction as the cameras started rolling.
"The Fluggrian homeworld of Ploo IV has fallen into the hands of Governor Dusty Daytonus and his forces." Yoo-Yuk reported, his voice filled with a mix of disbelief and astonishment. "In a stunning turn of events, the Glymphid Governor has achieved what seemed impossible—a successful conquest of Ploo IV. Forgive me, former governor Dusty Daytonus, as the former swoop racer has now declared himself king. As Ploo II and Ploo IV are the most dominant planets in the system, the newly crowned king effectively has control over the entire system. What galactic ramifications this will have remains to be seen, although there have been rumors that any ships entering the system will now have to pay a tax or risk being shot down. ."
As Yoo-Yuk surveyed the scene, he could see Glymphid soldiers patrolling the conquered territory, their AT-RT walkers standing tall, displaying the might of Daytonus' newfound power. The Fluggrians, known for their resilient nature, were now left displaced and uncertain of their future, while a newly crowned Dusty was currently signing autographs outside the ruined husk of Ploo IV's government building. Any Fluggrian resistance was hesistant to react, based on
