I was browsing the boards for a game I rather enjoy. The forums are quite extensive and have a political section, historical section, etc. I just so happened upon this thread, regarding the Golden Age of Islam. Apparantly people are trying to put labels on it, which led to disagreement. Which in turn led to the questioning of Islam's contributions to the world (e.x. invention of certain medicines and astronomy). I admit the guy who is defending Islam in this thread (Principes) is more or less an idiot, just from reading his posts. Though there are others who are quite more eloquent then him who defend Islam as well, just not as vehemently it seems.

It's no secret I am not the hugest fan of Islam. So perhaps reading this thread will get some people to see my way (Perhaps the opposite). Know that this isn't a "RAWR RAWR, ISLAM SUX" thread, it's a debate between two intelligent groups (Or lack thereof on Principe's part). If anyone wishes to register and join the debate, make one point and leave, or whatever, that's ok. There is no obligation, it doesn't even require a real e-mail. Once again, I stress this isn't a "DESTROY ISLAM!" thread, so i'd appreciate it if you would not just dismiss it and take the time to read it if possible.
Please also do not turn this thread into a debate. I do not want that, since i'll just get called names for being Anti-Islamic. Or it'll turn into another heated pile of steaming crap, and the thread will have to be closed, as usual with threads regarding Islam on this board.
