So, after making my first character and putzing about for a week or so I'd like to get some RP going on. Seeing as I went ahead and made a detective, I was thinking that a good place to start might be an old fashioned, troperiffic locked door murder mystery. Basically a bottle episode, except there's, you know, a dead dude. Think Clue, or the Adventure time on a train, or the Clue psych episode, or that doctor who with the freaky creepy knocking . . . you get the idea. The basic premise would be a couple of us on a passenger ship/transport/something of the sort going somewhere (open to suggestions where), lights go out, and Bam! Dead dude. (NPC, unless someone is really itching to die in the first 1/8 of the story.) Then we, as a group, try and suss out who the big bad murdering baddie is. One lucky person, obviously, gets to be the murderer, while the rest argue, insinuate, slowly start to hate everyone else, and throw blame around like rice at a bird-less wedding. Whether the bad guy escapes or gets whats coming in the end is totally up to them, but if you want to escape it better be in a bad-ass manner. Use the highly illogical and never useful run on top of a train as a guide. We will find out who did it, though. Far too shaggy dog otherwise.

I'm leaving most of the specifics open for now (who dies, why, what clues they leave, how we figure it out, etc etc) but there's oodles of opportunities for passengers if you're interested - upper class twit, totally obvious red herring, bickering couple, cassandra truth who no one pays attention to, or anything else you might have in mind. Wasn't sure how specific I had to be for an interest check, so like I said I'm leaving a lot open. Constructive criticism is more than welcome, and lemme know if you're interested! I'm thinking 5, 6 people would be best, but as high as 8 would probably work.

This is an interesting idea. I'd offer up my primary character, but then the murderer wouldn't be a mystery.

You could also be the super obvious red herring lol. And yeah, the mystery part is a brain wrinkle I'm working on. I've got no problem if everyone OOC knows the identity, so long as they're good at compartmentalizing and keeping it from bleeding through IC.

I definitely want to get Gerun in on this. I could even bring his wife if you need a couple, she's a little pissed at him right now too. He's not the murdering kind, normally, but I'm sure I could find a reason for him to murder somebody (or at least for people to think he did).

I like the idea of a PC as the murderer, I think it'd be more fun for only you and the murder to know who it is. But that might be impractical, so whatever works.

Excellent, the more the merrier!

And I think you're right about me being the only one to know. No matter what there would need to be some sort of a centralized consensus beforehand, otherwise we'd run the risk of everyone just up and deciding they wanna off someone. Murderer or me would have to intro-write the dead NPC too.

If this is still open I wouldn't mind having either my [thread=60980]Hira Senshino[/thread] or [thread=61241]Lady Cerise[/thread] on board. Hira is a highly advanced doctor/assassin and Cerise is a sith psychopath. Cerise would kill someone for just annoying her, and Hira could kill if threatened or ordered to do so, but keep in mind that with these two of my characters you get a NPC tag-along. Hira has a full AI medical/assassin droid, named Azrae, capable of independent thought, while the multi-analyte fibre-optic sensors array the droid is equipped with would be perfect for sniffing out clues. Cerise has her Lover who hardly speaks to anyone other than Cerise, but Lover is a mystery all in his/herself.
