So I've come up with what I think is a pretty interesting idea for a Civilian Resistance oriented mission.
A rebel cell on the border world of Ghorman has been hard at work, leading local militias in a guerrilla campaign against the Imperial occupation forces. They haven't been without losses, however. In a recent ambush, they took heavy casualties and their supply caches were discovered. The rebellion hasn't the ships or the manpower to extract them all or to send reinforcements. Sadly, it just isn't a battle we can hope to win at this point, struggling as we are on a hundred different fronts. The leader of the Civilian Resistance, Wes Tavik, has devised a cunning plan to use a pirate fleet to distract the forces in orbit long enough for our smugglers to run the blockade, drop supplies, retrieve critically wounded personnel if at all possible, and give the militias a fighting chance until we can return one day and oust the Imperials for good. It's a risky operation, but turning a blind eye when our comrades in arms need us most won't win us the favor of the Ghorman resistance movement and it could lead to other resistance movements becoming hesitant to join us. Not only do we have to help these freedom fighters on Ghorman, but we have to show other rebels that we take care of our own.
So what do you think? The pirates form a ragtag fleet and keep the Imperials in orbit occupied while the smugglers slip in, deliver the supplies, try to pick up wounded (if they're willing to risk it), and then we bug out. I'm thinking we'd have two seperate threads, one for the pirates and one for the smugglers. Obviously the Imperium members would handle the opposition (Imperial NPCs).
