DESCRIPTION​

The Interdictor-class Cruiser or frequently called the Sith Interdictor (not to be confused with the Interdictor-class Star Destroyer from the Galactic Civil War era), is a warship that dates back thousands of years ago, used by one of the various Sith Empires. Like the Sith Fighter, the Sith Interdictor's designer and manufacturer are unknown and a mystery.

Star Destroyers weren't much of a thing back then, but at the time the Sith Interdictor-class was one of the largest, most powerful ships at the time. With it's array of turbolasers and heavy laser cannons, it could dish out lots of damage towards enemy ships. Interdictors, in numbers, did bombard planets with their turbolasers during that time, killing many people and destroying much in their wake.

This old vessel was also a potent carrier, being able to carry a couple squadrons of Sith Fighters on board.

The other thing to note is the gravity well projectors. Although they are ancient, they are still effective and able to block hyperspace travel along it's gravity well, either stopping incoming travel or keeping people from leaving. Thus giving the Sith Interdictor it's name. Although it's area of effect are less than that of modern gravity well projectors.

The ancient Sith cruiser is not without it's weaknesses. It's large guns make it ill-suited to combat snubfighters and bombers or anything else below capital ship level. The ship is also ponderous and has slow sublight speed even among ship's it's size. It's armaments not really versatile either and it's required crew size is staggering.

Suffice it to say, this ancient vessel has not resurfaced at this time, although historians or records may have noted them. One might however be able to find a long lost Sith Interdictor buried underneath one of the lesser known Sith Worlds, worse for wear of course. Similar to the Sith Fighter, there is a Sith Holocron out there that contains the schematics and design, even so this ship would need a large enough and capable shipyard and significant amount of material to reproduce.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. Interdictor-class cruisers are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess powerful weapons. Civilian ownership of these ships with heavy firepower and gravity well projectors is illegal.

To import this iconic ship from Legends into our Site Canon.

RESTRICTIONS​

Interdictor-class cruisers are large capital ships with turbolasers along with very advanced and specialized equipment, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. A faction would be required to obtain and crew a ship of this size.
