Gerruf raised his head as their freighter finally touched down, blinking sleep from his eyes as a slight lurch signified their landing. The other rebels around them were doing much the same, most of them having also taken the journey as a chance to catch up on sleep. War was stressful, especially when on the side of the underdog. It wasn't uncommon to be pulling all nighters if the situation called for it. Standing up, the young Jedi double checked his gear, making sure he wasn't leaving anything as the ramp lowered to reveal the world of Ord Mantell.

This was just a pitstop for some much needed ship maintenance and supply restocking. It was a stop the Bothan had been eagerly anticipating however. Ord Mantell was a commercial hub for the surrounding systems, and brimming with technology and industry. Finally, a place where Gerruf could go about building his slicer deck, something he'd been putting off for too long. He'd had one years before but he'd lost it the same day he'd lost his clan. Since then he'd been making use of less pricey tools to get by, but it was finally time to upgrade again.

Stepping forward with the others, Gerruf stepped out into the open air and down the ramp. He cast a curious glance around to see that they were in a rather large city, thankfully free of Sith presence. It was an independent world of course, but it was still a gratifying sight. Since his awakening to the force, he'd realized just how vile their presences were. More importantly though, it would make this foray into the world of illegal technology much easier.

The Padawan moved off to the side to allow others their way down the ramp, watching and waiting as he idly stretched. His destination was the more...seedier side of the city, and he wasn't going alone either. Most people didn't go alone on independent worlds actually, it just wasn't safe. He had a Jedi Knight, named Pho, who had pledged to help him in this task. Gerruf didn't really know or trust the Zabrak, but going alone simply wasn't an option. He just had to trust in a fellow Jedi this once...something that still made him feel uneasy.

Moving about the galaxy was a lot safer in the war than sitting in one place. Pho was not in it for the safety despite its added comfort, though. He wanted to get out and see how the galaxy was doing. The Jedi Knight was looking for opportunities to help where he could while worlds were abandoned or worse by the Sith Empire. For the wanderings of the week he had been following a Padawan named Gerruf, an interesting Bothan man who reminded him of... himself... from when he was first a padawan. It seemed like so long ago, but really it had not been too many years since he first met Aurora. Before she fell from grace...

The ship touching down threw the Zabrak's focus back to the matters at hand. Ord Mantell was infamous for its ties to manufacturing of any and all kinds. It was a great place to get parts but Pho was unsure what he really would need. When it came to Jedi, there were few more traditional than Pho. He lived simply without flashy armors or weapons. Simple, tattered robes with light armor and simple weapons, including a fairly basic green lightsaber, were most of what he owned. A few gas grenades were kept hidden in his pockets for a non-lethal defense as well. Peace and self-discipline were core to this Jedi Knight and he would be damned if he didn't make himself an example for the other Jedi.

"It seems we have arrived, Gerruf." He said, making idle chat as he expanded his senses around them. "It feels oddly at peace here without the stains of the Sith. Even a world such as this... have I grown so cold?"

A smile came to Pho's lips after he spoke. It was painfully true, but a little humorous, that after so much time facing Sith in battle and feeling the taint of the dark side he found criminal hubs to feel peaceful. One would wonder how the Jedi of old felt during times of peace. Was this their version of a dark world? Were modern Jedi numb to the galaxy because of constant war and fear? Pho couldn't help himself but mourn for the state of the galaxy.

Gerruf waited patiently till the other Jedi joined him, bowing his head respectfully for a brief moment. "Yes, it would seem so."He agreed, mirroring the Zabrak's examination of the area through his senses. The other half of Pho's statement, that brought him a moment of pause. It was true, just a few moment earlier he'd been so satisfied with just seeing a world free of the Sith...yet still marred by ruin and hurt. Were his expectations really that low? Gerruf forced the thoughts from his mind, allowing the force to flow through him reassuringly. He was but a Padawan, it was hardly his place to have answers to those kinds of questions. So he just remained silent instead, merely shrugging weakly.

He then turned his focus towards the city, mentally plotting out where they had to go. He'd briefly looked over a few holo-maps of the city during the trip, but it was a whole other thing being on the ground. At least they wouldn't be utterly alone, though many of the other rebels had already vanished into streets. "Well, we'd better get going," he said eventually motioning for the other Jedi to follow as he started forward. "Who knows exactly how long this will take. I'd rather get it done as soon as possible." He would then lead the way down to follow the other rebels, assuming Pho was walking alongside him.

Luckily, he only needed to stop for directions once. They had the good fortune of meeting a helpful passerby as well, and soon knew exactly where to head. It was close too, within walking distance for their initial stop at least. Gerruf turned to eye the Jedi Knight as they walked, noting the traditional Jedi robe and lack of other equipment. He'd heard the Zabrak was like that from someone, far different from Gerruf's own preferences. He'd spent too much of his life enjoying the benefits of armor and weapons, no matter his new direction in life. He didn't begrudge the other man's choices in the slightest, but it did make him wonder.

"So, Pho, what are you looking to get today? I'm hoping to finally update my slicer repertoire for the future of course. But I don't imagine your particularly interested in that field yet?"
